Joy and Hope in Barnu 2: Samoon Foundation Warms Hearts and Young Lives

Date - Wednesday, January 22 2025

On the crisp morning of January 22, 2025, laughter echoed through the quiet lanes

of Barnu 2, Tehri Garhwal, as children gathered at the local Anganwadi Center, eyes

sparkling with excitement. The Samoon Foundation had arrived— not just with warm

sweaters, but with a spirit of care that lit up the entire village.

For the little ones, the sweaters were more than winter clothing— they were a symbol

of warmth, attention, and love. The day was filled with smiles and giggles as the

Foundation also organized games and sweet treats, turning the distribution into a

celebration of community and childhood.

Mrs. Sita Devi, the Village Head, remarked with emotion that the Foundation’s visit had

instilled “new hope and positive energy” throughout Barnu. Mrs. Vinita Rana, Chief

Anganwadi Worker, described the eff ort as nothing short of a “blessing,” especially

for children in such remote regions where resources are scarce. Mrs. Soni Rana,

Chairperson of the Anganwadi Mothers’ Committee, praised the initiative’s thoughtful

touches— sports and chocolate— saying it had “truly uplifted the children's spirits.”

Representing the Foundation, Mr. Rajendra Singh Rangad engaged warmly with children

and parents alike, reinforcing the Foundation’s core belief that every child deserves

not only education but also joy, dignity, and encouragement.

The Anganwadi Assistant and grateful parents echoed the sentiment, applauding the

Foundation's unwavering commitment. This initiative once again demonstrated how

small acts of kindness— especially when delivered with consistency and heart— cancreate lasting impact in a child’s journey toward a brighter future.

As in every year, this year too, the Samoon Family distributed blankets to those in need who spend their nights under the open sky in this biting cold.

Date: Wednesday, January 10, 2024

During the harsh winters of December and January, while we enjoy our warm clothes, some people are forced to spend their nights outside. Unfortunately, every year, many lives are lost due to the cold, especially among children and women. For the past eight years, the Samoon Family has celebrated the New Year with a blanket distribution program, and this year was no different, as blankets were distributed to those spending nights in the cold.

The blanket distribution program started on January 8, 2024, in Rishikesh, where blankets and warm clothes were given to the extremely poor and helpless. On January 10, 2024, the Samoon Foundation again distributed blankets to needy families in Shyampur, Khadri, Rishikesh.

Earlier, on the night of January 9, the Samoon Foundation team covered people sleeping on the roadside in I.D.P.L, CT Gate, Triveni Ghat, Gumanivala, and Koyal Valley with warm blankets. Additionally, on January 10, during the daytime, blankets were distributed to identified needy families in rural areas.
