Empowering Women: Samoon Foundation Launches 16th Skill Development Centre (SSDC-16)

To help rural women become self-reliant, the Samoon Foundation successfully opened its 16th Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC-16) on 22 June 2026. The centre was inaugurated in Chanji Main Bazar, Tehri Garhwal, in the presence of many local leaders, youth, and villagers.

Chief Guest Smt. Pinky Devi (Area Panchayat Member), Smt. Archana Devi (Pradhan), Mr. Gaurav Singh Rawat (Pradhan), and program organizer Mr. Vikram Ghanata (District Panchayat Member) graced the event. Mr. Vikram Shah represented the Samoon Foundation team at the launch.

This new training centre will provide free sewing and tailoring skills to women from nearby villages like Chanji Talli, Chanji Malli, Ganwadi, Kathud, Bhona, and others. The main goal is to help women earn their own livelihood, create local jobs, and improve the financial condition of rural families.

The villagers highly appreciated this step and said that such centres bring new opportunities to remote mountain areas. Just like our previous 15 centres, SSDC-16 will also help rural women gain skills and confidence. We thank all the village representatives, trainers, and especially Mr. Vikram Ghanata ji for his great efforts in making this centre a reality.

ग्रामीण महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में समूण फाउंडेशन ने एक और बड़ा कदम उठाया है। 22 जून 2026 को टिहरी गढ़वाल के चंजी मुख्य बाजार में 'समूण स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर' (SSDC-16) का सफलतापूर्वक उद्घाटन किया गया। यह संस्था द्वारा शुरू किया गया 16वां ट्रेनिंग सेंटर है।

इस उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि श्रीमती पिंकी देवी (क्षेत्र पंचायत सदस्य), श्रीमती अर्चना देवी (प्रधान), श्री गौरव सिंह रावत (प्रधान) और कार्यक्रम के आयोजक श्री विक्रम घनता (जिला पंचायत सदस्य) सहित कई ग्रामीण और युवा मौजूद रहे। समूण फाउंडेशन की टीम से श्री विक्रम शाह भी कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए।

यह नया केंद्र चंजी तल्ली, चंजी मल्ली, गणवाड़ी, कठूड़, भौणा और आसपास के अन्य गांवों की महिलाओं और बेटियों को मुफ्त में सिलाई-कढ़ाई का प्रशिक्षण (Sewing Training) देगा। इस मुहिम का उद्देश्य महिलाओं को हुनरमंद बनाना, स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार बढ़ाना और पहाड़ी परिवारों की आर्थिक स्थिति को मजबूत करना है।

गांव के लोगों ने समूण फाउंडेशन के इस प्रयास की बहुत तारीफ की और कहा कि पहाड़ों के दूरदराज इलाकों में ऐसे केंद्र खुलने से युवाओं और महिलाओं को आगे बढ़ने के नए मौके मिलते हैं। पिछले 15 केंद्रों की तरह यह 16वां केंद्र भी महिलाओं में आत्मविश्वास और आत्मनिर्भरता जगाने का काम करेगा। हम सभी जनप्रतिनिधियों, ग्रामीणों और विशेष रूप से श्री विक्रम घनता जी का दिल से आभार व्यक्त करते हैं जिनके प्रयासों से यह केंद्र शुरू हो सका।

Launch and Rapid Expansion of SSDC-15: Sparking a Wave of Self-Reliance in Pangariyana, Tehri Garhwal

With the core vision of fostering skill development and economic independence among rural women, the Samoon Foundation successfully inaugurated its 15th Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC-15) in Pangariyana village, Tehri Garhwal. This newly established sewing and tailoring training facility marks a massive milestone in bringing structural, positive transformation to the women of this remote region.

The ground response from the community has been absolutely phenomenal. On the very first day of the inauguration, 30 local women and young girls eagerly stepped forward to register for the program. Demonstrating the immense demand for vocational literacy in rural areas, an additional 10 participants enrolled by the very next day—bringing the total strength to 40 active trainees, with more applications steadily pouring in.

To comfortably accommodate this rapid influx of students while ensuring the highest standard of training, the Samoon Foundation team took immediate, decisive action. Within 24 hours of the launch, the foundation dispatched 7 additional brand-new sewing machines to the Pangariyana center. With this rapid expansion, SSDC-15 is now fully equipped with a total of 12 sewing machines, allowing a much larger cohort of women to learn seamlessly without any infrastructural barriers.

SSDC-15 is far more than just a training facility; it is a launchpad designed to polish inherent talents, build unshakable self-confidence, and bridge the gap between rural youth and sustainable livelihood opportunities. By learning modern tailoring, these women are preparing to play a vital role in strengthening their families' financial stability through independent home-based micro-enterprises.

ग्रामीण अंचलों की महिलाओं और बालिकाओं को व्यावहारिक कौशल प्रशिक्षण देकर आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के उद्देश्य से समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा टिहरी गढ़वाल के ग्राम पंगरियाणा में 'समूण स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर' (SSDC-15) के तहत एक नए सिलाई प्रशिक्षण केंद्र की स्थापना की गई है। यह केंद्र सुदूर पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों में महिला सशक्तिकरण और स्वावलंबन की दिशा में एक बड़ा और सकारात्मक कदम है।

इस केंद्र के शुरू होते ही स्थानीय महिलाओं और बालिकाओं में एक अभूतपूर्व और असीम उत्साह देखने को मिला है। सेंटर के उद्घाटन के पहले ही दिन जहाँ 30 महिलाओं और बालिकाओं ने सिलाई-कढ़ाई का हुनर सीखने के लिए अपना पंजीकरण कराया, वहीं इस मुहिम के प्रति भारी रुझान को देखते हुए अगले ही दिन 10 और बालिकाओं व महिलाओं ने अपना रजिस्ट्रेशन करा लिया। इस प्रकार महज दो दिनों के भीतर कुल प्रशिक्षार्थियों की संख्या 40 तक पहुँच चुकी है और अभी भी कई अन्य महिलाएं केंद्र से जुड़ने के लिए लगातार आ रही हैं। यह भारी संख्या इस बात का प्रत्यक्ष प्रमाण है कि ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में गुणवत्तापूर्ण तकनीकी और व्यावसायिक कौशल की कितनी गहरी आवश्यकता है।

शिक्षार्थियों की इस अप्रत्याशित संख्या को देखते हुए और प्रशिक्षण की उच्च गुणवत्ता व सटीकता को बरकरार रखने के लिए, समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा तत्काल कदम उठाया गया। संस्था ने बिना किसी देरी के त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए अगले ही दिन 7 अतिरिक्त नई सिलाई मशीनें पंगरियाणा केंद्र (SSDC-15) के लिए रवाना कर दीं। इस त्वरित विस्तार के बाद अब केंद्र में कुल 12 सिलाई मशीनें उपलब्ध हो चुकी हैं, जिससे गाँव की अधिक से अधिक महिलाओं और बालिकाओं को बिना किसी व्यावहारिक रुकावट के एक साथ बेहतर और आधुनिक प्रशिक्षण दिया जा सके।

यह समूण स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर सिर्फ एक सिलाई सिखाने वाला केंद्र मात्र नहीं है, बल्कि यह ग्रामीण पृष्ठभूमि की महिलाओं के सपनों को उड़ान देने, उनके आत्मविश्वास व आत्मसम्मान को बढ़ाने तथा उन्हें आर्थिक रूप से सुदृढ़ बनाने का एक जीवंत माध्यम है। यहाँ से हुनर सीखकर ये महिलाएं भविष्य में घर पर ही स्वरोजगार के माध्यम से अपने स्वयं के उत्पाद तैयार कर सकेंगी और अपने परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति को मजबूत करने में एक मुख्य भूमिका निभाएंगी।

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Samoon Foundation and ITC Limited Distribute Food Carts in Rishikesh

With the core objective of empowering women and making them self-reliant, the Samoon Foundation organized a successful food cart distribution drive for underprivileged women in Rishikesh. This livelihood initiative aims to provide sustainable self-employment opportunities to financially vulnerable women, enabling them to support their households and build independent businesses.

Under this collaborative program, the Samoon Foundation, in partnership with ITC Limited, presented customized food carts to 10 carefully selected women beneficiaries. The event was graced by senior officials from ITC Limited, including Mr. K. K. Joshi (Vice President & Head – Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Policy & Advocacy) and Dr. Agatha Betsy (Senior Manager – Nutrition Sciences, CSR Projects) from the ITC CSR team.

The ground execution of this impactful CSR initiative was managed by the Prayatna Foundation, represented by its President, Mr. Prateek Kumar, and Project Coordinator, Mr. Atul Rawat.

The ceremony was further distinguished by the presence of eminent chief guests, including Mr. U. S. Dhyani (IRS), Executive Director of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi, and Mrs. Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women. Additionally, Mr. Ganesh Kandwal, Deputy Commissioner and State Nodal Officer for the Eat Right India Initiative (Food Safety Department, Uttarakhand), joined as a special guest.

Representing the Samoon Foundation at the venue were Mr. V. M. Painuly, Mr. Kamal Joshi, Dr. Rakesh Chandra Dangwal, Mr. Deveshwar Prasad Raturi, Mr. Chandraveer Singh Pokhriyal, and Mr. S. S. Gusain.

Prior to receiving the food carts, the selected women underwent a comprehensive three-day professional training program, following which they were awarded training completion certificates. The event also welcomed women who had previously received food carts through the foundation and are currently running successful micro-enterprises in Rishikesh. In total, the mega event witnessed an encouraging turnout of over 100 participants, including beneficiaries, families, and community members.

समूण फाउंडेशन की ओर से ऋषिकेश में महिलाओं को सशक्त, स्वावलम्बी और आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के उद्देश्य से जरूरतमंद महिलाओं को फूड कार्ट (Food Cart) वितरित किए गए। इस अनूठी पहल का मुख्य उद्देश्य आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर पृष्ठभूमि से आने वाली महिलाओं को स्थानीय स्तर पर स्वरोजगार के स्वतंत्र अवसर प्रदान करना है, ताकि वे अपने पैरों पर खड़ी होकर अपने परिवार का मजबूत सहारा बन सकें।

इस विशेष कल्याणकारी कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत समूण फाउंडेशन और आईटीसी लिमिटेड (ITC Limited) की ओर से संयुक्त रूप से 10 चयनित कर्मठ महिलाओं को व्यावसायिक फूड कार्ट प्रदान की गईं। इस गरिमापूर्ण कार्यक्रम में आईटीसी लिमिटेड के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी मुख्य रूप से उपस्थित रहे, जिनमें श्री के. के. जोशी (Vice President & Head – Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Policy & Advocacy, ITC Limited) और आईटीसी सीएसआर (CSR) टीम की ओर से डॉ. अगाथा बेट्सी (Senior Manager – Nutrition Sciences) शामिल थीं।

फूड कार्ट वितरण से पूर्व सभी चयनित महिलाओं को तीन दिवसीय विशेष व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया गया, जिसके उपरांत उन्हें गरिमापूर्ण तरीके से प्रशिक्षण पूर्णता प्रमाणपत्र वितरित किए गए। इस समारोह में वर्तमान लाभार्थियों के साथ-साथ वे पूर्व महिला उद्यमी भी शामिल हुईं जिन्होंने पहले समूण के सहयोग से फूड कार्ट प्राप्त कर ऋषिकेश में सफलतापूर्वक अपना व्यवसाय स्थापित कर लिया है। कुल मिलाकर 100 से अधिक लोगों की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में यह कार्यक्रम बेहद प्रेरणादायक रहा।

Ensuring Health and Safety: Women Entrepreneurs Complete Certified FoSTaC–FSSAI Food Safety Training

Many women running micro-scale food businesses or managing home kitchens often lack formal training in professional food safety, storage standards, and handling protocols. To bridge this gap, safeguard public health, and elevate the quality of local street food, a certified training workshop was organized under the FoSTaC (Food Safety Training and Certification) program by FSSAI.

During the session, the participating women stepped forward to take the official FoSTaC online test to assess their learning and understanding of safety norms. Certified FSSAI trainer Ms. Monika Bharti guided the trainees through essential topics, such as maintaining high cleanliness standards inside mobile food carts, understanding the root causes of food poisoning, and the proper separation and storage of raw and cooked ingredients. Through clear video demonstrations, the women learned the best practical ways to serve completely safe, hygienic, and high-quality food to their daily customers.

This critical health and safety training was organized under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of ITC Limited, in active collaboration with the Prayatna Foundation, and coordinated smoothly on the ground by Mr. Atul Rawat.

This certified session has successfully enhanced the participants' understanding of personal hygiene, systematic waste management, and standardized safe food handling procedures. It has not only taught them how to avoid bacterial food contamination but also gave them the technical confidence needed to manage an approved food establishment.

Looking ahead, this trained group of selected women will officially be presented with their free commercial food carts on 9 February, empowering them to launch their independent livelihood journeys as certified, responsible food entrepreneurs.

भोजन बनाने, प्रोसेसिंग और छोटे स्तर पर खान-पान के व्यवसाय से जुड़ी कई महिलाओं के पास खाद्य सुरक्षा मानकों, व्यक्तिगत स्वच्छता और भोजन के सुरक्षित रखरखाव के उचित नियमों की औपचारिक जानकारी नहीं होती है। इस कमी को दूर करने, जन-स्वास्थ्य को सुरक्षित रखने और खाद्य उत्पादों की गुणवत्ता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से, महिलाओं के लिए 'FoSTaC–FSSAI' कार्यक्रम के तहत एक विशेष खाद्य सुरक्षा प्रशिक्षण सत्र का आयोजन किया गया।

इस महत्वपूर्ण कार्यशाला के दौरान महिलाओं ने खाद्य सुरक्षा नियमों के प्रति अपनी समझ को परखने के लिए FSSAI के आधिकारिक FoSTaC ऑनलाइन टेस्ट में भी बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लिया। FSSAI की प्रमाणित ट्रेनर सुश्री मोनिका भारती ने सभी प्रतिभागियों को फूड कार्ट में साफ-सफाई बनाए रखने, फूड प्वॉइजनिंग (खाद्य विषाक्तता) से बचने के उपायों और कच्चे व पके हुए भोजन को सही तरीके से रखने के नियमों के बारे में विस्तार से समझाया। वीडियो प्रदर्शनों (Video Demonstrations) के माध्यम से महिलाओं ने सीखा कि ग्राहकों को पूरी तरह सुरक्षित और शुद्ध भोजन कैसे परोसा जाता है।

यह आवश्यक स्वास्थ्य एवं सुरक्षा प्रशिक्षण आईटीसी लिमिटेड (ITC Limited) की सीएसआर पहल के अंतर्गत, 'प्रयत्न फाउंडेशन' के सहयोग से आयोजित किया गया, जिसका जमीनी समन्वय श्री अतुल रावत जी द्वारा किया गया।

इस सफल प्रशिक्षण सत्र ने प्रतिभागियों के बीच व्यक्तिगत स्वच्छता और सुरक्षित भोजन प्रबंधन के प्रति समझ को काफी मजबूत किया है। महिलाओं ने भोजन बनाते समय गंदगी और कीटाणुओं से बचाव करने तथा मानक सुरक्षा प्रक्रियाओं का पालन करने का व्यावहारिक ज्ञान प्राप्त किया है। यह प्रशिक्षण इन महिलाओं को अपने व्यावसायिक जीवन के साथ-साथ अपने घरों में भी बेहतर और स्वच्छ आदतें अपनाने के लिए प्रेरित करेगा।

इस प्रशिक्षण का मुख्य उद्देश्य महिलाओं को एक जिम्मेदार खाद्य उद्यमी के रूप में तैयार करना है। यह सत्र पूरा होने के बाद, ये सभी चयनित महिलाएं आगामी 9 फरवरी को अपने स्वयं के आजीविका साधन स्थापित करने और पूरी तरह आत्मनिर्भर बनने के लिए नए फूड कार्ट प्राप्त करेंगी।

Empowering Through Skills: Training Workshop Launched for Women Entrepreneurs Under "Snack Point" Initiative

To tackle the lack of practical employment opportunities for women in rural areas, the Samoon Foundation officially launched the "Snack Point" initiative. This program focuses on providing hands-on training, food preparation guidance, and business management skills to selected women, helping them transition successfully toward self-employment.

The first phase of this initiative commenced with a comprehensive training workshop. During the sessions, participating women were introduced to all the vital operational aspects of running a mobile food business. The curriculum focused on how to manage a food cart efficiently, balance daily expenses against savings, utilize profits wisely, and troubleshoot day-to-day business challenges.

This livelihood program is being implemented on the ground through the Prayatna Foundation, under a strategic CSR initiative backed by ITC India.

Beyond core business operations, the workshop provided crucial guidance on navigating modern financial systems. Trainer Mr. Atul Rawat led the sessions in an exceptionally simple, interactive, and practical manner. He effectively utilized team games and community activities to ensure the trainees could easily grasp complex topics, including banking processes, digital transactions, managing micro-loans, strategic decision-making, and matching their daily supply with market demands.

The ultimate goal of this training phase was to fully prepare these women to run sustainable businesses. Upon the successful completion of this training layout, specialized Yippee Snack Carts were distributed to the selected beneficiaries. This infrastructure provides them with a complete setup to launch small-scale snack enterprises right within their local communities, transforming their newly acquired skills into immediate, independent income to support their families.

ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में महिलाओं के लिए रोजगार के सीमित अवसरों और व्यावहारिक कौशल विकास कार्यक्रमों की कमी को दूर करने के उद्देश्य से, समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा "स्नैक पॉइंट" (Snack Point) पहल की शुरुआत की गई है। इस कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य चयनित महिलाओं को भोजन बनाने और व्यवसाय प्रबंधन का व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण देना है, ताकि वे स्वरोजगार के माध्यम से आर्थिक रूप से मजबूत हो सकें।

इस मुहिम के तहत आयोजित पहले प्रशिक्षण सत्र में महिलाओं को फूड कार्ट व्यवसाय से जुड़े सभी जरूरी पहलुओं की विस्तृत जानकारी दी गई। उन्हें सिखाया गया कि एक फूड कार्ट के माध्यम से अपना काम कैसे शुरू करें, दैनिक खर्च और बचत के बीच कैसे संतुलन बनाएं, अपनी आय का सही उपयोग कैसे करें और व्यापार में आने वाली छोटी-बड़ी समस्याओं का समाधान कैसे ढूंढें।

यह कल्याणकारी कार्यक्रम आईटीसी इंडिया (ITC India) की सीएसआर (CSR) पहल के अंतर्गत 'प्रयत्न फाउंडेशन' के जमीनी सहयोग से संचालित किया जा रहा है।

इस विशेष प्रशिक्षण के दौरान महिलाओं को बैंकिंग प्रक्रिया, डिजिटल लेनदेन (ऑनलाइन पेमेंट), लोन से जुड़ी जानकारियां, सही समय पर सही निर्णय लेना और बाजार की मांग के अनुसार कार्ययोजना तैयार करने जैसे महत्वपूर्ण विषयों पर भी विस्तार से मार्गदर्शन दिया गया। यह पूरा प्रशिक्षण प्रयत्न फाउंडेशन के प्रोजेक्ट कोऑर्डिनेटर श्री अतुल रावत जी द्वारा बेहद सरल और व्यावहारिक तरीके से दिया गया। उन्होंने खेल-कूद और विभिन्न रोचक गतिविधियों के माध्यम से प्रशिक्षण को प्रभावी बनाया, ताकि महिलाएं सभी बातों को आसानी से समझ सकें।

इस प्रशिक्षण का मुख्य लक्ष्य महिलाओं को स्वरोजगार के लिए पूरी तरह तैयार करना है। ट्रेनिंग पूरी होने के बाद, चयनित लाभार्थी महिलाओं को बुनियादी ढांचे के रूप में "यिप्पी स्नैक कार्ट" (Yippee Snack Carts) प्रदान की गईं। इन फूड कार्ट्स के माध्यम से ये महिलाएं अपने ही क्षेत्र में छोटे स्तर पर स्नैक्स का व्यवसाय शुरू कर अपना स्वतंत्र आजीविका साधन स्थापित कर रही हैं, जिससे वे आत्मनिर्भर बनकर अपने परिवारों का एक मजबूत सहारा बन सकें।

Empowering Rural Women: Samoon Foundation Inaugurates its 14th Skill Development Centre in Pratapnagar Block

The Samoon Foundation successfully inaugurated its 14th Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC) in Kordi village, Pratapnagar block of the Tehri district in Uttarakhand. This center marks a significant stride toward providing free skill-based training to rural women and young girls, with the core objective of making them self-reliant and economically empowered.

During the ceremony, Mr. Vikram Shah, a representative of the foundation and a trainer at the Samoon Computer Training Institute in Akhodi, briefed the attending villagers about the organization's working model, core objectives, and milestones achieved so far. He highlighted that the Samoon Foundation has already established 13 skill centers across various districts of Uttarakhand, training more than 1,000 women and girls. The foundation remains consistently dedicated to sectors like education, healthcare, women empowerment, self-employment, and digital literacy.

This newly established center will provide employment-oriented training in tailoring completely free of cost. Upon completion of the training, certificates will be awarded to all participants, and dedicated efforts will be made to connect them with local employment or self-employment avenues. The setup of this center was made possible through the exceptional financial contribution of the foundation's senior member, Mr. Ramesh Indra Dutt Naithani. Expressing deep appreciation, the local villagers extended their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Naithani for his vital support.

The inaugural event was graced by several distinguished guests and prominent local figures, including Zilla Panchayat Member Mrs. Rita Devi, Mr. Surajpal Singh Rana, Bhama Devi, Reshma Devi, Himanshu Negi, Mamta Devi, Rajni Devi, Ranju Devi, Raveeta, Isha, Laxmi, Priyanka, and Kalpana. Addressing the gathering, the speakers motivated the women to become self-reliant and highly commended the Samoon Foundation's impactful initiative.

समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा उत्तराखंड के टिहरी जनपद के ग्राम कोरदी, प्रतापनगर ब्लॉक में अपने 14वें समूण स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर (SSDC) का सफलतापूर्वक उद्घाटन किया गया। यह केंद्र ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों की महिलाओं और बालिकाओं को कौशल आधारित निःशुल्क प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है, जिसका मुख्य उद्देश्य उन्हें आत्मनिर्भर एवं आर्थिक रूप से सशक्त बनाना है।

इस अवसर पर संस्था के प्रतिनिधि तथा समूण कंप्यूटर ट्रेनिंग इंस्टिट्यूट अखोडी के ट्रेनर श्री विक्रम शाह द्वारा उपस्थित ग्रामीणों को समूण संस्था की कार्यशैली, उद्देश्यों और अब तक की उपलब्धियों के बारे में विस्तारपूर्वक जानकारी दी गई। उन्होंने बताया कि समूण फाउंडेशन अब तक उत्तराखंड के विभिन्न ज़िलों में 13 स्किल सेंटर स्थापित कर 1000 से अधिक महिलाओं और बालिकाओं को प्रशिक्षित कर चुका है। संस्था शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, महिला सशक्तिकरण, स्वरोजगार और डिजिटल साक्षरता जैसे क्षेत्रों में निरंतर कार्य कर रही है।

यह नया केंद्र सिलाई जैसे रोजगारपरक प्रशिक्षण नि:शुल्क प्रदान करेगा तथा प्रशिक्षण पूर्ण होने पर सभी प्रतिभागियों को प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान किया जाएगा। इसके साथ ही उन्हें स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार या स्वरोजगार से जोड़ने का भी पूरा प्रयास किया जाएगा। इस सेंटर की स्थापना में संस्था के वरिष्ठ सदस्य श्री रमेश इंद्र दत्त नैथानी जी का विशेष आर्थिक योगदान रहा, जिनके सहयोग से यह केंद्र साकार रूप ले पाया। ग्रामीणों ने श्री नैथानी जी के प्रति हृदय से आभार व्यक्त किया और इस प्रयास की सराहना की।

उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में कई विशिष्ट अतिथि एवं गणमान्य व्यक्ति उपस्थित रहे जिनमें श्रीमती रीता देवी (सदस्य जिला पंचायत), श्री सूरजपाल सिंह राना, भामा देवी, रेशमा देवी, हिमांशु नेगी, ममता देवी, रजनी देवी, रंजू देवी, रवीता, ईशा, लक्ष्मी, प्रियंका, कल्पना आदि मुख्य थे। सभी वक्ताओं ने कार्यक्रम को संबोधित करते हुए महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनने के लिए प्रेरित किया और समूण फाउंडेशन की इस पहल की मुक्तकंठ से सराहना की।

Samoon Skill Development Centre Launched to Give a New Direction to the Development of Remote Osla Village

The Samoon Foundation officially launched the "Samoon Skill Development Centre" to give a new direction to the advancement of Osla, a remote village in the Uttarkashi district. Driven by the mission to promote education and vocational training in this far-flung region, the Samoon Foundation has been running the 'Samoon Adarsh Vidhyalaya' for the past four years. At this school, students from the neighboring villages of Osla and Pawani are provided with free education, along with complimentary school uniforms and stationery items. Alongside this educational setup, the new skill center has been inaugurated to steer village development forward, focusing exclusively on training local women in tailoring and knitting.

The center has been equipped with 7 sewing machines to empower the village women to become self-reliant and financially support their households. The inaugural ceremony was attended by School Coordinator Vijaypal Rana, Parent Committee President Khajan Singh, and the entire ground team of the Samoon Foundation. The initiative sparked immense enthusiasm among the villagers, who expressed their deep gratitude to the foundation’s founder, Mr. Vinod Jethudi, and the entire Samoon family.

This Skill Development Centre has been established under the progressive village-adoption initiative spearheaded by the Honorable Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami, which encourages non-resident Uttarakhandis to adopt their ancestral villages. Embracing this call to action, Mr. Vinod Jethudi officially adopted Osla village, pledging to continually drive growth through educational improvement, skill acquisition, and sustainable development programs.

We sincerely hope that this vocational center will serve as a vital stepping stone for generating local employment opportunities for rural women. By becoming self-reliant, these women will not only strengthen the economic foundation of their families but will also play an empowered role in society. Through this milestone in women's empowerment, the daughters and daughters-in-law of Osla village are set to give their talents wings and step toward a brighter, more secure future.

समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा उत्तरकाशी जिले के दूरस्थ गाँव ओसला के विकास को नई दिशा देने के लिए "समूण कौशल विकास केंद्र" का शुभारंभ किया गया। उत्तरकाशी जिले के सुदूर गाँव ओसला में शिक्षा और कौशल विकास को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा पिछले 4 सालों से 'समूण आदर्श विद्यालय' का संचालन हो रहा है। इस विद्यालय में ओसला एवं पवाणी गाँव के विद्यार्थियों को निःशुल्क शिक्षा के साथ-साथ यूनिफॉर्म और स्टेशनरी भी मुफ्त प्रदान की जा रही है। इसके साथ ही, गाँव के विकास को एक नई राह दिखाने के लिए इस कौशल विकास केंद्र की शुरुआत की गई है, जहाँ विशेष रूप से स्थानीय महिलाओं को सिलाई और बुनाई का प्रशिक्षण दिया जाएगा।

इस केंद्र में महिलाओं की सुविधा के लिए 7 सिलाई मशीनें प्रदान की गई हैं, ताकि गाँव की महिलाएँ आत्मनिर्भर बन सकें और अपने परिवारों को आर्थिक रूप से सहयोग प्रदान कर सकें। उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम के दौरान विद्यालय समन्वयक विजयपाल राणा, अभिभावक समिति के अध्यक्ष खजान सिंह, तथा समूण फाउंडेशन की पूरी टीम मौजूद रही। इस सराहनीय पहल को लेकर गाँववासियों में विशेष उत्साह देखने को मिला और उन्होंने संस्था के संस्थापक श्री विनोद जेठुडी जी एवं समस्त समूण परिवार का दिल से आभार व्यक्त किया।

यह कौशल विकास केंद्र माननीय मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी जी द्वारा प्रवासी उत्तराखंडियों को गाँव गोद लेने की पहल के तहत खोला गया है। इसी क्रम में श्री विनोद जेठुडी जी ने ओसला गाँव को गोद लेकर यहाँ शिक्षा, कौशल विकास और सतत विकास के कार्यों को आगे बढ़ाने का एक दृढ़ संकल्प लिया है।

Empowerment in the Mountains: 12th Samoon Skill Development Centre Inaugurated in Nanda Nagar, Chamoli

Location: Banjbagad Village, Nanda Nagar, Chamoli District, Uttarakhand

On April 7, 2025, the Samoon Foundation marked a significant milestone by inaugurating its 12th Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC) in the remote village of Banjbagad, located within the Nanda Nagar block of Chamoli district. The primary mission behind establishing this center was to empower rural women by providing them with sustainable livelihood skills, inspiring them to march toward complete self-reliance.

Prior to the center's opening, women in far-flung pockets like Banjbagad faced immense hardships, often traveling over 5 kilometers to the nearest commercial market just for basic tailoring and stitching needs. This caused a heavy waste of time, money, and physical labor. Because they were constantly balancing rigorous daily routines between household chores and agricultural fields, learning a new vocational skill had always been an uphill battle for them.

The spark for this center came from Mr. Lakshman Rawat, a resilient differently-abled villager who has been successfully running a local general store and flour mill established with the direct support of the Samoon Foundation. Having attained economic independence himself, Mr. Rawat earnestly requested the foundation to set up a skill center to uplift the women of his community. Stepping up to the cause, Mrs. Darshani Devi, the President of the Mahila Mangal Dal, played a monumental role in turning that request into reality by mobilizing, uniting, and motivating the village women. Thanks to her grassroots leadership, more than 25 women initially signed up for the training program.

The instructional responsibilities of the center were entrusted to Mrs. Gudiya Devi, an expert artisan in tailoring and knitting who carried prior vocational teaching experience in the region. The grand opening was graced by prominent local women, including Mrs. Parvati Devi, Mrs. Savitri Devi, Mrs. Sangeeta Devi, Mrs. Maheshwari Devi, and Mrs. Seema Devi, all of whom warmly welcomed the initiative and shared their personal aspirations.

Prior to this launch, the Samoon Foundation had successfully operationalized 11 other Skill Development Centres across diverse terrains of Uttarakhand, enabling thousands of women to acquire professional tailoring skills. The Samoon Foundation remains permanently committed to generating sustainable development and self-employment avenues for rural youth and women. The launch of SSDC 12 stands as a powerful stride in this direction—one that not only imparts practical expertise but also continues to fortify the socio-economic fabric of the entire village.

07 अप्रैल, 2025 को समूण फाउंडेशन ने महिला सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में एक और बड़ा कदम बढ़ाते हुए उत्तराखंड के जनपद चमोली के सुदूरवर्ती ग्राम बांजबगड़ (नंदा नगर) में अपने 12वें 'समूण स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर' (SSDC 12) का विधिवत उद्घाटन किया। इस केंद्र की स्थापना का मुख्य उद्देश्य ग्रामीण महिलाओं को हुनरमंद बनाकर उन्हें स्वावलंबन और आत्मनिर्भरता की राह पर अग्रसर करना रहा है। भौगोलिक रूप से दुर्गम होने के कारण, इस केंद्र के खुलने से पहले बांजबगड़ की महिलाओं को सामान्य सिलाई-बुनाई के कार्यों के लिए भी लगभग 5 किलोमीटर दूर मुख्य बाजार जाना पड़ता था, जिससे उनके समय, धन और अत्यधिक श्रम की बर्बादी होती थी। अमूमन घर और खेतों के कड़े कामकाज में व्यस्त रहने के कारण इन महिलाओं के लिए कोई नया कौशल सीखना हमेशा से एक बड़ी चुनौती थी।

इस केंद्र की शुरुआत के पीछे एक बेहद प्रेरणादायक कहानी रही है। गाँव के ही दिव्यांग श्री लक्ष्मण रावत जी, जो पिछले 5 वर्षों से समूण फाउंडेशन के सौजन्य से स्थापित एक जनरल स्टोर और आटा चक्की का सफलतापूर्वक संचालन कर आत्मनिर्भर बन चुके हैं, उन्होंने अपने गाँव की महिलाओं को सशक्त देखने की इच्छा से संस्था से यह केंद्र खोलने का विशेष अनुरोध किया था। इस मुहिम को धरातल पर उतारने में स्थानीय 'महिला मंगल दल' की अध्यक्षा श्रीमती दर्शनी देवी जी ने अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। उन्होंने गाँव की महिलाओं को एकजुट कर इस कौशल को सीखने के लिए प्रेरित किया, जिसके सुखद परिणामस्वरूप शुरुआत में ही 25 से अधिक महिलाओं ने केंद्र में अपना पंजीकरण करवा लिया था।

इस केंद्र में प्रशिक्षण देने की महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारी श्रीमती गुड़िया देवी जी को सौंपी गई थी, जो सिलाई एवं बुनाई कला में पूरी तरह दक्ष हैं और पूर्व में भी इस क्षेत्र में अपनी सेवाएं दे चुकी थीं। उद्घाटन के इस शुभ अवसर पर पार्वती देवी, सावित्री देवी, संगीता देवी, महेश्वरी देवी, सीमा देवी सहित गाँव की कई अन्य महिलाएं प्रमुख रूप से उपस्थित रहीं, जिन्होंने इस पहल का भरपूर स्वागत किया था और अपने विचार साझा किए थे।

गौरतलब है कि इस केंद्र से पूर्व भी समूण फाउंडेशन उत्तराखंड के विभिन्न जनपदों में 11 स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर्स का सफलतापूर्वक संचालन कर चुका था, जहाँ हजारों ग्रामीण महिलाओं ने सिलाई-कढ़ाई का हुनर सीखकर अपनी आजीविका को मजबूत किया है। समूण फाउंडेशन ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में युवाओं और मातृशक्ति के लिए आत्मनिर्भरता और सतत विकास की दिशा में निरंतर कार्यरत है। SSDC 12 का शुभारंभ इसी पावन संकल्प की एक मजबूत कड़ी साबित हुआ है, जिसने न केवल महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाया है बल्कि गाँव की सामाजिक व आर्थिक स्थिति को भी एक नई मजबूती प्रदान की है। यह केंद्र आज ग्रामीण बदलाव और महिला सशक्तिकरण का एक अनूठा प्रतीक बनकर उभर रहा है।

The number of girls and women who were continuously receiving training at the *Samoon Sewing Training Center, Ramdhar* was constantly increasing.

So far, *27 women and girls* had registered and were learning to sew.

As a step towards women empowerment, Samoon Pariwar's initiative would soon be started in other districts as well, because economic development would only happen through women empowerment.

अभी तक *27 महिलाएं एवं बालिकाओं* ने रजिस्ट्रेशन करवाया था एवं सिलाई सीख रही थीं।

महिला सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में समून परिवार का यह प्रयास बहुत जल्द दूसरे जिलों में भी शुरू किया जाएगा क्योंकि महिला सशक्तिकरण से ही होगा आर्थिक विकास।

  *24 girls and women* were receiving sewing training at the *Samoon Sewing Training Center, Ramdhar, Tehri Garhwal*. The number of trainees was continuously increasing.

Samoon Foundation was making efforts to open such sewing training centers at some more places very soon.

एक और अति निर्धन परिवार की #बिटिया_की_शादी के लिए #समूण_फाउंडेशन द्वारा रुपये 30,000/- हजार की लागत से लगभग 600 किलोग्राम खाद्य सामग्री उनके घर तक पहुंचायी गयी |

Help provided for the reconstruction of Gangotri Devi Ji’s house. (गंगोत्री देवी जी के घर के पुनर्निर्माण हेतु मदद )

Home Reconstruction Support for Gangotri Devi Ji

Samoon Foundation has always been committed to supporting people facing difficult circumstances and providing assistance to help them rebuild their lives with dignity.

Gangotri Devi Ji’s house required reconstruction, and understanding the difficulties faced by her family, Samoon Foundation extended financial support towards this noble cause.

An amount of ₹41,000 was transferred directly to Gangotri Devi Ji’s bank account for the reconstruction of her house. The reconstruction work was planned to begin soon, providing the family with hope for a safer and better living environment.

Along with the contribution from Samoon Foundation members and followers, Adarsh Gram Sabha Kirod also extended support by directly transferring ₹16,000 towards the reconstruction work.

Samoon Foundation expresses heartfelt gratitude to all supporters and well-wishers who contributed towards helping a family rebuild their home.

गंगोत्री देवी जी के घर पुनर्निर्माण हेतु सहायता अभियान

दिनांक: 2021

स्थान: उत्तराखंड

समूण फाउंडेशन सदैव कठिन परिस्थितियों से जूझ रहे लोगों की सहायता और उन्हें सम्मानपूर्वक जीवन जीने में सहयोग प्रदान करने के लिए समर्पित रहा है।

गंगोत्री देवी जी के घर के पुनर्निर्माण की आवश्यकता को देखते हुए समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा उनकी सहायता हेतु आर्थिक सहयोग प्रदान किया गया।

घर के पुनर्निर्माण कार्य के लिए गंगोत्री देवी जी के बैंक खाते में ₹41,000/- की धनराशि सीधे ट्रांसफर कर दी गई। जल्द ही घर के पुनर्निर्माण का कार्य प्रारंभ किया जाना था, जिससे परिवार को एक सुरक्षित और बेहतर रहने का स्थान मिल सके।

समूण परिवार के सदस्यों एवं अनुयायियों के सहयोग के साथ-साथ आदर्श ग्राम सभा किरोड़ द्वारा भी ₹16,000/- की धनराशि सीधे ट्रांसफर कर सहयोग प्रदान किया गया।

समूण फाउंडेशन सभी सहयोगकर्ताओं एवं शुभचिंतकों का हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता है, जिन्होंने इस सेवा कार्य में अपना योगदान दिया।

Women Empowerment through Skill Development – Samoon Sewing Training Centre

Location: Village Tudangi, Near Devprayag, Uttarakhand

Samoon Foundation continues its mission of social service through various humanitarian initiatives. One of its key focus areas is supporting underprivileged yet talented students and empowering rural communities.

As part of this vision, the foundation is also promoting women empowerment through skill development. The sewing training activities at the centre reflect a strong step towards making rural women self-reliant and financially independent.

At the training centre, women and young girls are actively learning stitching using sewing machines. This hands-on training enables them to develop practical skills that can help them earn a livelihood from home or start small-scale work.

The initiative not only builds skills but also boosts confidence, self-esteem, and independence among women. It creates opportunities for them to contribute to their family income and become active participants in community development.

कौशल विकास के माध्यम से महिला सशक्तिकरण – समूण सिलाई प्रशिक्षण केंद्र

समूण फाउंडेशन निरंतर विभिन्न सामाजिक और मानवीय कार्यों के माध्यम से मानवता की सेवा कर रही है। इसी क्रम में संस्था का एक प्रमुख उद्देश्य मेधावी एवं निर्धन विद्यार्थियों की सहायता के साथ-साथ ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में महिला सशक्तिकरण को बढ़ावा देना है।

इसी उद्देश्य से समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा संचालित सिलाई प्रशिक्षण केंद्र में महिलाएं और बालिकाएं सिलाई का प्रशिक्षण प्राप्त कर रही हैं। यह पहल महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर और आर्थिक रूप से सशक्त बनाने की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।
