A Community Unites –Gauri’s Wedding in Kurn

Date – Monday, 22 April 2024

In the tranquil village of Kurn, nestled within the hills of Tehri Garhwal, lived a resilient

young woman named Gauri. Her early years were shadowed by tragedy— losing her

mother as an infant, her father at the age of three, and both grandparents by the time

she turned ten. In the wake of these losses, Gauri and her younger brother Aadesh

were lovingly raised by their paternal uncle, Shri Soban Singh, a hardworking daily wage

laborer who ensured they never felt alone.Throughout their upbringing, the Samoon Foundation

served as a steady pillar of support, quietly enabling their education and well- being.

When Shri Soban Singh approached the organization for assistance with Gauri’s wedding, scheduled for April 22, 2024, the Foundation responded without hesitation. Mobilizing its compassionate donor base, Samoon Foundation orchestrated a heartwarming show of solidarity.

Contributors such as Lakshan Singh Butola, Dinesh Chandra Nautiyal, and Hemant Nayal

came forward with generous donations.

As a result of this collective effort, the Foundation was able to provide essential wedding items valued at ₹35,000, ensuring that Gauri’s special day was marked with dignity and joy. More than the material gifts, Gauri stepped into her new life knowing she was embraced by a community that cared deeply. This event stands as a powerful reminder that even amidst profound hardship, human compassion and organizational dedication can spark moments of hope and pave the way for new beginnings.

Empowering Futures through Digital Literacy – The Launch of SCTI04

 Date - April 01, 2024

In the heart of the digital revolution, countless young minds remained deprived of

essential technical skills required to navigate the future. Recognizing this pressing

need, the Samoon Foundation envisioned a transformative solution— to bridge the

digital divide and empower underserved communities. That vision materialized on April

1,2024, in Shyampur, Rishikesh, with the inauguration of SCTI04, a free computer training

institute. More than just a facility, SCTI04 emerged as a symbol of opportunity and

renewal.

The inauguration was marked by an air of anticipation and celebration. Mr. Deveshwar

Prasad Raturi, a former Air Force officer, graced the occasion with his presence and

emphasized the enduring importance of discipline in achieving success. The event

was further enriched by the insights of two revered ascetics, Mr. Chaitanya Leela Das

and Sannyasi Shri Deen Gopal Das, who eloquently spoke on the harmony of technical

knowledge and spiritual wisdom for holistic development.

SCTI0 4’s launch exemplified the power of collective community action. Spearheaded

by Mr. Vijay Mohan Painuly, Vice President of the Samoon Foundation, and executed

seamlessly by a passionate team, the event drew overwhelming support. Social

workers, community leaders, and enthusiastic residents— including notable names

such as Ram Ratan Raturi and Mintu Chauhan— gathered in solidarity, united by a shared

belief in the initiative’s potential to uplift hundreds of children.

As the ceremony concluded, Mr. Manoj Paliwal, General Secretary of the Foundation,

extended heartfelt gratitude to all attendees. The opening of SCTI04 signified more

than just the establishment of an institute— it was the realization of a dream, a bold

step toward inclusive progress. Through a unique blend of discipline, holistic learning,

and grassroots involvement, the Samoon Foundation set a living example of how

meaningful change begins.
