During the freezing months of December and January, thousands of India’s poor and underprivileged were forced to live under the open sky. Government data from the Open Government Data Platform showed that 10,933 Indians — an average of 781 per year — had died between 2001 and 2014 due to "cold and exposure".  

To address this, Team Samoon launched a campaign appealing to people to donate old warm clothes and blankets that were no longer in use. We welcomed donations like winter coats, outgrown children's clothes, and blankets in usable condition. The goal was not just to provide warmth to the needy but also to promote the eco-friendly concept of recycling — turning waste into a resource for the less fortunate.  

Donors shared their name and location with us via WhatsApp or email. Our team collected the items and distributed them to people in need across various cities. The drive received strong support and helped many families survive the harsh winter.

दिसम्बर और जनवरी के जमा देने वाले महीनों में भारत के हजारों गरीब और वंचित लोग खुले आसमान के नीचे रहने को मजबूर थे। भारत सरकार के ओपन गवर्नमेंट डेटा प्लेटफॉर्म के आँकड़ों से पता चला था कि 2001 से 2014 के बीच "ठंड और जोखिम" के कारण 10,933 भारतीयों की मृत्यु हुई, यानी औसतन 781 प्रति वर्ष।  

इसे देखते हुए टीम समून ने एक अभियान चलाया और लोगों से अपील की कि वे अपने पुराने गर्म कपड़े और कम्बल, जिनका उपयोग नहीं हो रहा था, दान करें। हमने गर्म कोट, बच्चों के छोटे पड़ चुके कपड़े और उपयोग करने योग्य कम्बल जैसे सभी प्रकार के दान का स्वागत किया। उद्देश्य केवल जरूरतमंदों को गर्माहट देना नहीं था, बल्कि रीसाइक्लिंग की पर्यावरण-अनुकूल अवधारणा को बढ़ावा देना भी था — आपके लिए जो कचरा है, वह जरूरतमंद के लिए संसाधन है।  

दानदाताओं ने अपना नाम और स्थान हमें व्हाट्सएप या ईमेल के माध्यम से भेजा। हमारी टीम ने वस्तुएँ एकत्रित कीं और विभिन्न शहरों में जरूरतमंद लोगों तक पहुँचाईं। इस अभियान को भरपूर सहयोग मिला और कई परिवारों को कड़ाके की सर्दी से राहत मिली।
