Manisha, a differently-abled woman from Village Marad Patti Bharpur, Block Hindolakhal, District Tehri Garhwal, has faced immense hardships since childhood. Her mother passed away when she was just three years old. Her father remarried but later also passed away, leaving her without parental support at a very young age.

Despite her physical disability, Manisha has been surviving by breaking stones and selling gravel to earn a livelihood. Due to the absence of a ration card, her disability pension had been stopped for nearly one and a half years. However, with the continuous efforts of Samoon Foundation member Arvind Jiyal and the support of the District Administration and Social Welfare Department, her pension has now been successfully resumed.

While this is a positive step, Manisha still lacks basic necessities of life such as electricity, clean water, proper sanitation, and cooking gas.

मनीषा, ग्राम मराड़ पट्टी भरपूर, ब्लॉक हिंडोलाखाल, जिला टिहरी गढ़वाल की निवासी हैं, जो बचपन से ही कठिन परिस्थितियों का सामना कर रही हैं। जब वह मात्र 3 वर्ष की थीं, तभी उनकी माता का निधन हो गया। पिता ने दूसरी शादी की, लेकिन कुछ समय बाद उनका भी देहांत हो गया, जिससे मनीषा बहुत छोटी उम्र में ही अनाथ हो गईं।

शारीरिक रूप से दिव्यांग होने के बावजूद मनीषा पत्थर तोड़कर रोड़ी और बजरी बेचकर अपना जीवन यापन कर रही हैं। राशन कार्ड न होने के कारण उनकी दिव्यांग पेंशन लगभग डेढ़ वर्ष तक बंद रही, लेकिन समूण परिवार के सदस्य श्री अरविंद जियाल जी के प्रयासों तथा जिला प्रशासन एवं समाज कल्याण विभाग के सहयोग से अब उनकी पेंशन पुनः शुरू हो गई है।

हालांकि, अभी भी मनीषा जीवन की मूलभूत सुविधाओं जैसे बिजली, पानी, शौचालय और गैस से वंचित हैं।
