Date - Sunday, 2 February 2025
In the remote village of Ghigud, nestled among the hills of Tehri Garhwal, February 2,
2025, began like any other winter morning— quiet, cold, and wrapped in layers of
mist. But by mid- morning, the air had shifted, filled with laughter, color, and warmth as
the Samoon Foundation arrived under the leadership of Mr. Gajendra Singh Rana,
carrying with them not just clothes, but hope.
Children at the local Anganwadi Center gathered excitedly, their eyes lighting up as
they received cozy sweaters and pants. It wasn’t just a distribution— it was a
celebration. Mr. Shivram, the Village Head, watched the scene with a smile and
remarked that the initiative had “brought new hope to the village,
” uplifting not only
the children’s confidence but also their dignity as students. The gesture was more
than warmth— it was encouragement stitched into every thread.
Mrs. Beena Devi, the Anganwadi Worker, emphasized how crucial such timely support
was in safeguarding children's health and maintaining their zeal for learning through
the harsh winter months. Alongside her, Mrs. Uma Devi, the Anganwadi Assistant, and
other community members stood in gratitude.
During the event, Mr. Rana shared the Foundation’s broader mission to reach even
more villages in Patti Dogi and Patti Bharpur, vowing to continue fostering education
and development across the region. As the children clutched their new clothes and
sweets with beaming smiles, it was clear: this initiative was not just about battling the
cold, but about warming young hearts with opportunity.
The Samoon Foundation remains steadfast in its belief that when children feel
protected, valued, and confident, they grow into empowered individuals. And that
belief echoed strongly through every corner of Ghigud that day.
