Young people are the country's greatest asset, but today, our youth are increasingly afflicted by the serious disease of addiction. Substance abuse has become a habit in the lives of today's youth, and they have become enslaved to it. Therefore, it is our duty to launch widespread awareness campaigns to free the youth from this addiction.
For today's youth, consuming intoxicants such as alcohol, cigarettes, “bidis”, opium, and heroin has become a trend. Although de-addiction campaigns are being run to combat substance abuse, the number of addicts has been steadily increasing over the past few years. People are intent on ruining their own futures and that of their loved ones through addiction, so we need to make efforts to overcome this issue.
On May 31, 2023, on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the students of Samoon Computer Training Institute organized an art and essay competition to promote awareness and encourage the avoidance of tobacco use in society. In this competition, Miss Jassi Rudhiyal secured the first place and Divya Semwal secured the second place.
Let us come together to build a drug-free society and pledge not to use substances, committing ourselves to eradicate the scourge of addiction from society.
