The Samoon Family proudly inaugurated its 7th Samoon Skill Development Centre on 13 January 2024 in the sacred land of Lord Kedarnath, located at Gram Sabha Nala in Ukhimath Block of Rudraprayag district. This initiative marks another step towards empowering rural communities through skill development and self-reliance.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Chandra Singh Negi (Social Worker), Village Head Mrs. Kalpeshwari Devi, former Women’s Group President Mrs. Pushpa Devi, Centre Director Miss Shakshi, and representatives of the Samoon organization, Mr. Vikram Shah and Mr. Jitendra Jhardhari. The event also witnessed the presence of mothers and sisters from the village, making it a community-centered celebration.

This centre has been established with the continuous support of dedicated members and followers of the Samoon Family, who contribute through monthly donations. Their consistent contributions, though small individually, collectively play a significant role in supporting such impactful initiatives and spreading the spirit of service.

Blanket Distribution Drive

During the harsh winter months of December and January, while many of us stay protected in warm clothing, there are countless people who are forced to spend their nights in the open. Every year, extreme cold claims many lives, especially among women and children. Keeping this in mind, the Samoon Foundation continued its tradition of celebrating the New Year with a blanket distribution drive, a practice carried out consistently for the past eight years.

The campaign began on 8 January 2024 in Rishikesh, where blankets and warm clothes were distributed among the extremely poor and helpless individuals. On the night of 9 January, the Samoon Foundation team actively reached out to people sleeping on roadsides in areas such as IDPL, CT Gate, Triveni Ghat, Gumanivala, and Koyal Valley, covering them with warm blankets to protect them from the cold.

On 10 January 2024, the drive continued with the distribution of blankets to identified needy families in Shyampur and Khadri, Rishikesh. Along with nighttime efforts, the team also carried out daytime distribution in rural areas, ensuring that maximum support could reach those in need.

The objective of this initiative was not only to provide warmth during extreme winters but also to spread awareness about helping the underprivileged and encouraging others to contribute towards such humanitarian causes. Samoon Foundation remains committed to serving humanity and continues to work towards making a meaningful difference in society.

कम्बल वितरण अभियान

दिसंबर और जनवरी की कड़ाके की ठंड में, जहाँ हम सभी गर्म कपड़ों में सुरक्षित रहते हैं, वहीं कई लोग खुले आसमान के नीचे रात बिताने को मजबूर होते हैं। हर वर्ष ठंड के कारण कई लोगों, विशेषकर महिलाओं और बच्चों की जान चली जाती है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए, समून फाउंडेशन ने पिछले आठ वर्षों की परंपरा को जारी रखते हुए इस वर्ष भी नववर्ष की शुरुआत कम्बल वितरण अभियान के साथ की।

यह अभियान 8 जनवरी 2024 को ऋषिकेश में शुरू हुआ, जहाँ अत्यंत गरीब एवं असहाय लोगों को कम्बल और गर्म कपड़े वितरित किए गए। 9 जनवरी की रात को टीम समून ने आईडीपीएल, सीटी गेट, त्रिवेणी घाट, गुमानीवाला और कोयल वैली जैसे क्षेत्रों में सड़कों पर सो रहे जरूरतमंद लोगों को कम्बल ओढ़ाकर उन्हें ठंड से बचाने का प्रयास किया।

10 जनवरी 2024 को यह अभियान आगे बढ़ाते हुए श्यामपुर और खदरी, ऋषिकेश के चिन्हित जरूरतमंद परिवारों को कम्बल वितरित किए गए। इसके साथ ही दिन के समय ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में भी वितरण कार्य किया गया, ताकि अधिक से अधिक जरूरतमंदों तक सहायता पहुंच सके।

इस अभियान का उद्देश्य केवल ठंड से राहत प्रदान करना ही नहीं, बल्कि लोगों को जरूरतमंदों की सहायता के लिए प्रेरित करना भी था। समून फाउंडेशन मानवता की सेवा के लिए समर्पित है और समाज में सकारात्मक बदलाव लाने हेतु निरंतर कार्यरत है।

Another Samoon Skill Development Centre was inaugurated in Vinakkhal, Khwada, Bhilangna, Tehri Garhwal, with the aim of making rural women and girls in Uttarakhand self-reliant and empowered.

In this context, the *Samoon Foundation* officially inaugurated another *Samoon Skill Development Centre* on *December 25, 2023*, in *Vinakhal, Khwada, Bhilangna, Tehri Garhwal*, where rural women will receive free training to become self-reliant and empowered.

*Ankit Meher*, a 22-year-old young man from the village of *Bacheti, P.O. Jalna, Almora district*, was fighting for his life at *AIIMS Rishikesh*, holding big dreams for the future. Both of Ankit's kidneys had failed, and the doctors had informed him that a kidney transplant was the only solution. His father wanted to save his son's life by donating his own kidney, but the family did not have enough money to cover these expenses. Despite having an *Ayushman card*, a significant amount of money was still required.  

Thanks to the efforts of *Samoon Foundation's* esteemed senior member *Hemant Nyal (Hemu Bhai)*, who is also from this village and works in *Dubai*, a total of *₹1.5 lakh* has been raised with the support of *Uttarakhandi and non-Uttarakhandi families in Dubai*. Out of this, *₹1 lakh* was directly transferred to the victim's family account by generous donors, while a check of *₹51,000* was provided by the *Samoon Foundation*.

*Mahavir Singh Rana*, a 32-year-old resident of *Soniyat village, Post-Malgaon, Patti-Hindaun, Tehri Garhwal*, first suffered a brain hemorrhage and then both of his kidneys failed. He is currently living on dialysis at *AIIMS Rishikesh*. The doctors have advised a kidney transplant, which is estimated to cost around *₹20 lakh*.  

Dialysis is performed at AIIMS Rishikesh every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, for which Mahavir has rented a room in *Gumaniwala* at a cost of *₹3,500 per month*. Additionally, he incurs a daily transportation cost of *₹500* for traveling to and from the hospital.  

To care for Mahavir, his wife and two young children also live with him in the rented accommodation.  

The *Samoon Foundation* provided a small assistance amount of *₹16,000* for Mahavir Rana's treatment and assured further support for his ongoing medical care.

Financial Assistance Provided for Prabha Devi's Treatment(प्रभा देवी के उपचार हेतु आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की गई)

On *November 16, 2023*, a request letter was received from *Mr. Yamuna Prasad Dangwal*, a resident of village *Budkot, Post Office Laludikhal, Tehri Garhwal*, seeking help for the treatment of his wife, *Prabha Devi*. She suffered a brain hemorrhage on *September 29* and was immediately admitted to Dehradun, from where she was referred to *PGI Chandigarh* for better treatment.  

The *Samoon Foundation* provided a small assistance amount of *₹17,000* for the treatment of Prabha Devi, who was receiving treatment at PGI Chandigarh after her brain hemorrhage on September 29. The impoverished family requested assistance from the Samoon Foundation for the treatment, and the support was provided through *Mr. Vijay Mohan Panyuli*, the vice president of the organization. We also pray for Prabha Devi's swift recovery and a bright future.

*16 नवंबर 2023* को *श्री यमुना प्रसाद डंगवाल*, निवासी ग्राम *बुड़कट, पोस्ट ऑफिस लालुडिखाल, टिहरी गढ़वाल*, से उनकी पत्नी *प्रभा देवी* के उपचार के लिए सहायता हेतु एक अनुरोध पत्र प्राप्त हुआ। उन्हें *29 सितंबर* को ब्रेन हेमरेज हुआ था और तुरंत देहरादून में भर्ती कराया गया, जहां से बेहतर उपचार के लिए उन्हें *PGI चंडीगढ़* रेफर किया गया।  

*सम्पून फाउंडेशन* ने 29 सितंबर को ब्रेन हेमरेज के बाद PGI चंडीगढ़ में उपचार प्राप्त कर रही प्रभा देवी के उपचार के लिए *₹17,000* की छोटी सहायता राशि प्रदान की। इस असहाय परिवार ने उपचार के लिए सम्पून फाउंडेशन से सहायता का अनुरोध किया था, और यह सहायता संगठन के उपाध्यक्ष *श्री विजय मोहन पन्युली* के माध्यम से प्रदान की गई। हम प्रभा देवी के शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने और उज्ज्वल भविष्य की कामना भी करते हैं।

Diwali Celebration with Underprivileged Families(वंचित परिवारों के साथ दीवाली का जश्न)

In various locations in *Rishikesh, including Tapovan, Laxman Jhula, and Shyampur Khadri*, selected families received *Diwali kits* from the *Samoon Foundation*. These kits included worship materials, sweets, firecrackers, lamps, and oil wicks, which were prepared and distributed by the Samoon team. Many people are still forced to live in darkness during this festival of lights, so our effort is to brighten their lives with a small *#Diwali_Samoon*, bringing them joy and light.

*ऋषिकेश* के विभिन्न स्थानों पर, जिनमें *तपोवन, लक्ष्मण झूला और श्यामपुर खादरी* शामिल हैं, चयनित परिवारों को *सम्पून फाउंडेशन* द्वारा *दिवाली किट* वितरित की गईं। इन किटों में पूजा सामग्री, मिठाइयां, पटाखे, दीपक और बातियां शामिल थीं, जिन्हें सम्पून टीम द्वारा तैयार कर वितरित किया गया। रोशनी के इस त्योहार के दौरान भी कई लोग अंधकार में जीवन जीने को मजबूर हैं, इसलिए हमारा प्रयास है कि एक छोटे *#Diwali_Samoon* के माध्यम से उनके जीवन में खुशियां और रोशनी लाई जाए।

Diwali Samoon by the Samoon Foundation in Tehri Garhwal

After distributing #Bagwali_Samoon in Rishikesh, the Samoon Computer Training Institute in Akhodi, operated by Vikram Shah and his team, delivered #Bagwali_Samoon to extremely impoverished families in Akhodi, Tehri Garhwal. The Diwali kits included new clothes, sweets, firecrackers, lamps, oil wicks, and more.

The Samoon Foundation family shares the joy of Diwali every year with some underprivileged families alongside their own, as this festival is about sharing happiness. The more we share joy with others, the more we feel joy ourselves.

If our small efforts can bring a little more light to the lives of those in need around us during this festival, then we truly understand the significance of Diwali.
