Samoon Skill Development Centre, Computer Training Institute & Excellence Coaching Centre Inauguration

For the past 14 years, Samoon Foundation has been continuously working in the fields of education, skill development, women empowerment, environmental protection, and healthcare across Uttarakhand. The foundation’s mission is to reach remote villages and provide opportunities to those who genuinely need support through various initiatives such as free computer training for youth, sewing and knitting training centres, coaching centres, and schools to promote self-reliance among women and students.

Continuing this vision, on 10 March 2024, Samoon Foundation inaugurated its 8th Samoon Skill Development Centre at Gram Sabha Kurn, Patti – Bharpur. On the same occasion, the foundation also inaugurated its 3rd Samoon Computer Training Institute and 1st Samoon Excellence Coaching Centre in Saud village.

A large number of rural women, girls, and students actively participated in the inauguration program and showed great enthusiasm to enroll in sewing, computer training, and coaching programs. These centres aim to provide skill-based education and learning opportunities, helping rural communities move towards self-reliance and growth.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by former Gram Pradhan of Kurn Mr. Jagdish Singh, former Gram Pradhan of Saud Mr. Khushhal Singh, former Principal Mr. Ghamand Singh, MLA representative Mr. Mahendra Gusain, former Pradhan of Danad Mr. Harshpal, current Gram Panchayat member from Kurn Mrs. Shashi Devi, current Gram Panchayat member from Saud Mr. Dheerendra Rawat, along with Samoon Foundation representatives Mr. Veerendra Negi, Mr. Dheerendra Jethudi, Mr. Subhash Jethudi, Mr. Manohar Singh Rawat, Mr. Manoj Paliwal, and centre directors Mrs. Pinky Devi and Mr. Vijender Kumar.

Villagers, social workers, and public representatives expressed their gratitude to Samoon Foundation for establishing these centres and extended their best wishes for the success of these initiatives. They appreciated the foundation’s efforts towards empowering rural youth, students, women, and girls through education and skill development.

पिछले 14 वर्षों से समून फाउंडेशन उत्तराखंड में शिक्षा, कौशल विकास, महिला सशक्तिकरण, पर्यावरण संरक्षण और स्वास्थ्य सेवा के क्षेत्र में निरंतर कार्य कर रहा है। संस्था का उद्देश्य दूरस्थ गांवों तक पहुंचकर जरूरतमंद लोगों को अवसर प्रदान करना है। इसी उद्देश्य के अंतर्गत युवाओं के लिए निःशुल्क कंप्यूटर प्रशिक्षण, महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के लिए सिलाई एवं बुनाई प्रशिक्षण केंद्र, कोचिंग सेंटर और विद्यालयों का संचालन किया जा रहा है।

इसी क्रम को आगे बढ़ाते हुए 10 मार्च 2024 को समून फाउंडेशन ने ग्राम सभा कुर्न, पट्टी – भरपूर में अपने 8वें समून स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर का शुभारंभ किया। इसी अवसर पर सौड़ गांव में संस्था के 3रे समून कंप्यूटर ट्रेनिंग इंस्टीट्यूट और प्रथम समून एक्सीलेंस कोचिंग सेंटर का भी उद्घाटन किया गया।

इस अवसर पर बड़ी संख्या में ग्रामीण महिलाएं, बालिकाएं और विद्यार्थी उत्साहपूर्वक शामिल हुए तथा सिलाई, कंप्यूटर प्रशिक्षण और कोचिंग कार्यक्रमों में प्रवेश लेने के लिए अपनी रुचि दिखाई। इन केंद्रों का उद्देश्य ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में कौशल आधारित शिक्षा और प्रशिक्षण उपलब्ध कराकर लोगों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाना है।

The Samoon Foundation provided educational support to Anil Lal, a bright and hardworking student who has been pursuing his studies despite facing difficult circumstances. On 24 February 2024, the foundation transferred a scholarship amount of ₹16,200 towards Anil’s hostel fees, ensuring that his education continues without financial obstacles.

Anil Lal, a former student of Samoon Adarsh School, completed his classes 4 and 5 there and is currently studying at Gyan Jyoti School while staying in a hostel away from his village. He is a dedicated student who maintains 100% attendance in his class and has a strong determination to achieve success through education.

Five years ago, Anil lost his mother, and later his father also faced serious health challenges. Despite these hardships, Anil dreams of continuing his education and becoming capable of providing better care and support for his father. However, due to their weak financial condition, managing both his education expenses and his father’s treatment has been extremely difficult for the family.

The Samoon Foundation, along with running Samoon Adarsh School, has been providing scholarships to talented and underprivileged students for the past 12 years. Through this initiative, hundreds of deserving children have received educational support and opportunities to build a better future.

Continuing this mission, the foundation extended scholarship assistance of ₹16,200 to Anil Lal, contributing towards his hostel education expenses and encouraging him to continue his journey of learning and growth.

समून फाउंडेशन ने कठिन परिस्थितियों के बावजूद अपनी पढ़ाई जारी रखने वाले प्रतिभाशाली एवं मेहनती छात्र अनिल लाल को शैक्षिक सहायता प्रदान की। 24 फरवरी 2024 को फाउंडेशन द्वारा अनिल के विद्यालय में ₹16,200 की छात्रवृत्ति राशि हस्तांतरित की गई, जिससे उसकी हॉस्टल फीस का भुगतान हो सके और उसकी शिक्षा बिना किसी बाधा के जारी रह सके।

अनिल लाल समून आदर्श स्कूल के पूर्व छात्र हैं, जहां उन्होंने कक्षा 4 और 5 तक शिक्षा प्राप्त की। वर्तमान में वह अपने गांव से दूर रहकर “ज्ञान ज्योति स्कूल” में अध्ययन कर रहे हैं। अनिल पढ़ाई के प्रति अत्यंत समर्पित हैं और कक्षा में उनकी उपस्थिति 100% रहती है।

पांच वर्ष पूर्व अनिल ने अपनी माता को खो दिया था। इसके बाद उनके पिता भी मानसिक स्वास्थ्य संबंधी कठिनाइयों से गुजरने लगे। इन परिस्थितियों के बावजूद अनिल शिक्षा के माध्यम से सफलता प्राप्त करना चाहते हैं, ताकि भविष्य में अपने पिता के उपचार और परिवार का बेहतर सहारा बन सकें। लेकिन आर्थिक स्थिति कमजोर होने के कारण परिवार के लिए उसकी पढ़ाई और पिता के उपचार दोनों का खर्च उठाना कठिन हो रहा था।

समून फाउंडेशन अपने विद्यालय के संचालन के साथ-साथ पिछले 12 वर्षों से प्रतिभाशाली एवं जरूरतमंद बच्चों को छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान करता आ रहा है। इस पहल के माध्यम से अब तक सैकड़ों विद्यार्थियों को शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में सहयोग और बेहतर अवसर प्राप्त हुए हैं।

Medical Financial Assistance Support

The Samoon Family extended financial assistance to support the medical treatment of Miss Bindi, who is bravely fighting a serious illness like cancer. On 12 February 2024, the foundation provided a financial aid cheque of ₹17,000 to help ease the burden on her family.

Miss Bindi, a student of class 12 from Andrapa, Gairsain (Chamoli Garhwal), is currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS Rishikesh for a life-threatening illness. Having lost her father during childhood, her mother has been single-handedly supporting the family through a widow’s pension. The diagnosis of cancer brought immense emotional and financial challenges for the family.

Although her treatment is being supported under the Ayushman scheme, the family continues to struggle with additional expenses such as travel from Gairsain to Rishikesh, accommodation, food, and medicines. Upon learning about the Samoon Foundation, her mother approached the organization and submitted an application seeking help.

Understanding the urgency of the situation, the Samoon Foundation responded promptly and provided financial assistance of ₹17,000 on 12 February 2024. The foundation also assured continued support to the family during this difficult time.

This initiative reflects the commitment of the Samoon Foundation towards supporting those in need and standing beside families during their most challenging moments.

समून परिवार ने गंभीर बीमारी कैंसर से जूझ रही कु. बिंदी के उपचार हेतु आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की। 12 फरवरी 2024 को फाउंडेशन द्वारा ₹17,000 की सहायता राशि का चेक प्रदान किया गया, जिससे परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति को कुछ राहत मिल सके।

कु. बिंदी, ग्राम अंद्रापा, गैरसैंण (चमोली गढ़वाल) की 12वीं कक्षा की छात्रा हैं, जो वर्तमान में एम्स ऋषिकेश में अपना उपचार करा रही हैं। उनके पिता का निधन उनके बचपन में ही हो गया था, जिसके बाद उनकी माता विधवा पेंशन के सहारे परिवार का पालन-पोषण कर रही हैं। कैंसर जैसी गंभीर बीमारी की पुष्टि ने परिवार को गहरे दुःख और आर्थिक संकट में डाल दिया।

यद्यपि उनका उपचार आयुष्मान योजना के अंतर्गत चल रहा है, फिर भी गैरसैंण से ऋषिकेश आने-जाने का खर्च, रहने-खाने की व्यवस्था और दवाइयों के लिए परिवार के पास पर्याप्त साधन नहीं हैं। समून फाउंडेशन के बारे में जानकारी मिलने पर उनकी माता ने संस्था के कार्यालय में आवेदन किया।

स्थिति की गंभीरता को देखते हुए समून फाउंडेशन ने तुरंत सहायता प्रदान करते हुए 12 फरवरी 2024 को ₹17,000 की आर्थिक सहायता दी तथा आगे भी हर संभव सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया।

Winter Sweater Distribution & Community Engagement Program

On the crisp morning of 22 January 2025, the quiet lanes of Barnu 2 in Tehri Garhwal came alive with laughter and joy as children gathered at the local Anganwadi Center with excitement. The Samoon Foundation reached the village not only with warm sweaters but also with a spirit of care and compassion that brightened the entire community.

For the children, the sweaters were not just winter clothing but a symbol of warmth, love, and attention. The Foundation turned the distribution into a celebration by organizing games and distributing sweets, filling the day with smiles, laughter, and happiness.

The program was graced by the presence of Village Head Mrs. Sita Devi, who expressed that the Foundation’s visit brought “new hope and positive energy” to the village. Chief Anganwadi Worker Mrs. Vinita Rana described the initiative as a “blessing,” especially for children living in remote areas with limited resources. Mrs. Soni Rana, Chairperson of the Anganwadi Mothers’ Committee, appreciated the thoughtful inclusion of games and chocolates, stating that it truly uplifted the children’s spirits.

Representing the Samoon Foundation, Mr. Rajendra Singh Rangad interacted warmly with children and their parents, reinforcing the belief that every child deserves not only education but also joy, dignity, and encouragement. 22 जनवरी 2025 की ठंडी सुबह में टिहरी गढ़वाल के बर्नू 2 गांव की शांत गलियां बच्चों की हंसी और उत्साह से गूंज उठीं, जब वे स्थानीय आंगनवाड़ी केंद्र पर एकत्रित हुए। समून फाउंडेशन यहां केवल गर्म स्वेटर ही नहीं, बल्कि अपने साथ स्नेह और संवेदनशीलता का संदेश भी लेकर पहुंचा, जिसने पूरे गांव को उत्साह से भर दिया।

बच्चों के लिए ये स्वेटर केवल सर्दियों के कपड़े नहीं थे, बल्कि प्यार, देखभाल और अपनापन का प्रतीक थे। इस अवसर को और खास बनाने के लिए फाउंडेशन ने खेलों और मिठाइयों का आयोजन किया, जिससे यह वितरण कार्यक्रम एक उत्सव में बदल गया और बच्चों के चेहरों पर खुशी और मुस्कान बिखर गई।

Blanket Distribution Drive

During the harsh winter months of December and January, while many of us stay protected in warm clothing, there are countless people who are forced to spend their nights in the open. Every year, extreme cold claims many lives, especially among women and children. Keeping this in mind, the Samoon Foundation continued its tradition of celebrating the New Year with a blanket distribution drive, a practice carried out consistently for the past eight years.

The campaign began on 8 January 2024 in Rishikesh, where blankets and warm clothes were distributed among the extremely poor and helpless individuals. On the night of 9 January, the Samoon Foundation team actively reached out to people sleeping on roadsides in areas such as IDPL, CT Gate, Triveni Ghat, Gumanivala, and Koyal Valley, covering them with warm blankets to protect them from the cold.

On 10 January 2024, the drive continued with the distribution of blankets to identified needy families in Shyampur and Khadri, Rishikesh. Along with nighttime efforts, the team also carried out daytime distribution in rural areas, ensuring that maximum support could reach those in need.

The objective of this initiative was not only to provide warmth during extreme winters but also to spread awareness about helping the underprivileged and encouraging others to contribute towards such humanitarian causes. Samoon Foundation remains committed to serving humanity and continues to work towards making a meaningful difference in society.

स्थान: ऋषिकेश (श्यामपुर, खदरी, आईडीपीएल, त्रिवेणी घाट एवं आसपास के क्षेत्र), उत्तराखंड

दिसंबर और जनवरी की कड़ाके की ठंड में, जहाँ हम सभी गर्म कपड़ों में सुरक्षित रहते हैं, वहीं कई लोग खुले आसमान के नीचे रात बिताने को मजबूर होते हैं। हर वर्ष ठंड के कारण कई लोगों, विशेषकर महिलाओं और बच्चों की जान चली जाती है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए, समून फाउंडेशन ने पिछले आठ वर्षों की परंपरा को जारी रखते हुए इस वर्ष भी नववर्ष की शुरुआत कम्बल वितरण अभियान के साथ की।

यह अभियान 8 जनवरी 2024 को ऋषिकेश में शुरू हुआ, जहाँ अत्यंत गरीब एवं असहाय लोगों को कम्बल और गर्म कपड़े वितरित किए गए। 9 जनवरी की रात को टीम समून ने आईडीपीएल, सीटी गेट, त्रिवेणी घाट, गुमानीवाला और कोयल वैली जैसे क्षेत्रों में सड़कों पर सो रहे जरूरतमंद लोगों को कम्बल ओढ़ाकर उन्हें ठंड से बचाने का प्रयास किया।

10 जनवरी 2024 को यह अभियान आगे बढ़ाते हुए श्यामपुर और खदरी, ऋषिकेश के चिन्हित जरूरतमंद परिवारों को कम्बल वितरित किए गए। इसके साथ ही दिन के समय ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में भी वितरण कार्य किया गया, ताकि अधिक से अधिक जरूरतमंदों तक सहायता पहुंच सके।

इस अभियान का उद्देश्य केवल ठंड से राहत प्रदान करना ही नहीं, बल्कि लोगों को जरूरतमंदों की सहायता के लिए प्रेरित करना भी था। समून फाउंडेशन मानवता की सेवा के लिए समर्पित है और समाज में सकारात्मक बदलाव लाने हेतु निरंतर कार्यरत है।

Another Samoon Skill Development Centre was inaugurated in Vinakkhal, Khwada, Bhilangna, Tehri Garhwal, with the aim of making rural women and girls in Uttarakhand self-reliant and empowered.

For the past five years, the *Samoon Pariwar* has been establishing *Samoon Skill Development Centres* in various locations to train women in sewing and weaving, helping them become self-sufficient. In this context, the *Samoon Foundation* officially inaugurated another *Samoon Skill Development Centre* on *December 25, 2023*, in *Vinakhal, Khwada, Bhilangna, Tehri Garhwal*, where rural women will receive free training to become self-reliant and empowered.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including:

*Vikram Shah*, the director of the computer and sewing centre, informed the attendees about the organization, stating that it contributes to social service activities not only in Tehri Garhwal but also in other districts. To date, hundreds of women and girls have benefited from the previous five sewing training centers.

*Ankit Meher*, a 22-year-old young man from the village of *Bacheti, P.O. Jalna, Almora district*, was fighting for his life at *AIIMS Rishikesh*, holding big dreams for the future. Both of Ankit's kidneys had failed, and the doctors had informed him that a kidney transplant was the only solution. His father wanted to save his son's life by donating his own kidney, but the family did not have enough money to cover these expenses. Despite having an *Ayushman card*, a significant amount of money was still required.  

Thanks to the efforts of *Samoon Foundation's* esteemed senior member *Hemant Nyal (Hemu Bhai)*, who is also from this village and works in *Dubai*, a total of *₹1.5 lakh* has been raised with the support of *Uttarakhandi and non-Uttarakhandi families in Dubai*. Out of this, *₹1 lakh* was directly transferred to the victim's family account by generous donors, while a check of *₹51,000* was provided by the *Samoon Foundation*.

*अंकित मेहर*, ग्राम *बछेती, पोस्ट ऑफिस जालना, जिला अल्मोड़ा* के 22 वर्षीय युवा, *AIIMS ऋषिकेश* में जीवन के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे थे और भविष्य के बड़े सपने देख रहे थे। अंकित की दोनों किडनियां फेल हो चुकी थीं और डॉक्टरों ने बताया कि किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट ही एकमात्र समाधान है। उनके पिता ने अपनी किडनी देकर बेटे की जान बचाने का फैसला किया, लेकिन परिवार के पास इन खर्चों को पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त पैसे नहीं थे। *आयुष्मान कार्ड* होने के बावजूद भी एक बड़ी राशि की आवश्यकता थी।

Artists play a crucial role in the preservation and development of culture. Artists dedicate their skills and talents to bring music, theater, dance, and various art forms to the public, yet the economic development of *Uttarakhandi artists* has not reached the level it should have.  

Sometimes, when artists who have devoted their entire lives to the preservation of culture face misfortunes, their families and children go through very difficult times. Without anyone to care for them, the inability to cover the educational expenses of these artists' children can lead to interruptions in their education.  

The *Samoon Foundation* remains committed to supporting *Uttarakhand's artists and their families* in every possible way. Previously, the organization has also provided assistance for the treatment of some artists and financial support for the education of others. In this context, the *Samoon Foundation* has provided a small assistance cheque of *₹11,000* for the education of the children of another artist who passed away in an accident.
