Medical & Basic Needs Support Initiative for an Elderly Mother

The Samoon Foundation extended support to an elderly mother and her family who were facing severe financial and health-related challenges. On 17 March 2024, the Samoon team visited her home, arranged medical treatment for her grandson, provided essential medicines, supplied ration for two months, and offered ₹1,500 in cash assistance for future medical needs.
The elderly woman was noticed begging in Rishikesh by Samoon family member Mrs. Rajni Rana. Seeing her difficult situation, Rajni approached her and asked about the circumstances that had forced her to seek help at such an advanced age.
The elderly mother shared that her husband had passed away many years ago, after which she was living with her daughter. Unfortunately, her daughter’s husband also passed away, leaving behind their son who later got married and had two children. Tragically, the daughter-in-law also passed away, and due to this unbearable loss and circumstances, the son suffered severe mental distress and eventually went missing.
With no source of support, the elderly mother was forced to beg for survival. At the same time, her young grandson had suffered a fracture in his leg, but the family lacked the financial resources required for his treatment. To verify the situation, Samoon family member Mr. Jitendra Jerdhari immediately visited the elderly woman’s home and confirmed the family’s circumstances.
Understanding the urgent need for medical and basic support, the Samoon family appealed for assistance through social media. For four consecutive days, the Samoon team worked closely with the family, took the child to the hospital for treatment, purchased necessary medicines, provided ration supplies for the next two months, and gave ₹1,500 in cash for additional medication expenses. The team also assured the family of continued support whenever required.
This initiative reflects Samoon Foundation’s commitment to standing beside vulnerable families and providing help with compassion, dignity, and humanity.

वृद्ध माता एवं परिवार हेतु चिकित्सा व आवश्यक सहायता पहल

समून फाउंडेशन ने एक वृद्ध माता और उनके परिवार की कठिन परिस्थितियों को देखते हुए सहायता का हाथ बढ़ाया। 17 मार्च 2024 को समून टीम ने उनके घर पहुंचकर उनके पोते के टूटे हुए पैर का उपचार करवाया, आवश्यक दवाइयां खरीदीं, अगले दो महीने के लिए राशन उपलब्ध कराया और आगे की दवाइयों के लिए ₹1,500 की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की।
समून परिवार की सदस्य श्रीमती रजनी राणा ने ऋषिकेश में इस वृद्ध माता को भीख मांगते हुए देखा। उनकी स्थिति को देखकर उन्होंने उनके पास जाकर पूछा कि इस उम्र में उन्हें किन परिस्थितियों के कारण भीख मांगने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ रहा है।
वृद्ध माता ने बताया कि उनके पति का निधन काफी समय पहले हो चुका था और वह अपनी बेटी के साथ रह रही थीं। कुछ समय बाद उनकी बेटी के पति का भी निधन हो गया। उनकी बेटी का बेटा बड़ा होकर विवाह कर चुका था और उसके दो बच्चे थे। दुर्भाग्यवश उसकी पत्नी (वृद्ध माता की बहू) का भी निधन हो गया, जिसके बाद बेटा मानसिक रूप से अत्यधिक परेशान हो गया और अब वह लापता है।
इन परिस्थितियों के कारण वृद्ध माता को जीवन यापन के लिए भीख मांगने को मजबूर होना पड़ा। इसी बीच उनके छोटे पोते का पैर टूट गया था, लेकिन परिवार के पास उसके उपचार के लिए पर्याप्त पैसे नहीं थे। स्थिति की वास्तविकता जानने के लिए समून परिवार के सदस्य श्री जितेंद्र झर्डहारी तुरंत वृद्ध माता के घर पहुंचे और पूरी स्थिति की पुष्टि की।
परिवार को बच्चे के इलाज और राशन की तत्काल आवश्यकता थी। इसके बाद समून परिवार ने सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से सहायता की अपील की। चार दिनों तक समून टीम ने लगातार परिवार के संपर्क में रहकर बच्चे को अस्पताल ले जाकर उसका उपचार करवाया, दवाइयां उपलब्ध कराईं, अगले दो महीने के लिए राशन दिया और भविष्य की दवाइयों हेतु ₹1,500 की आर्थिक सहायता प्रदान की। साथ ही परिवार को आवश्यकता पड़ने पर आगे भी सहयोग का आश्वासन दिया।
यह पहल समून फाउंडेशन की मानवता, संवेदनशीलता और जरूरतमंद परिवारों के प्रति समर्पण को दर्शाती है।
