On March 6, 2025, the Samoon Foundation brought a beacon of hope to nine families
in Savani village, Uttarkashi, who had been left homeless after a devastating fire on
January 26th. Forced to live in tents, these families faced long nights filled with
darkness and insecurity.
Though they had received rations, clothes, and essential aid from the community and
local authorities, their most heartfelt request was simple yet profound: “We just need
a light to step out of our tents at night, see our children, and feel safe.
” Hearing this the Foundation responded swiftly by providing rechargeable emergency lights, givingthese families a tangible way to overcome the night’s shadows and regain a sense of
security.
The Samoon Foundation reflected that while an emergency light may seem a small
gesture to many, for these families it marked a vital first step — from fear to safety,
helplessness to self- reliance, and darkness to light. The Foundation also expressed
deep gratitude to all donors and partners whose support made this life- changing aid
possible.
