Empowering Women: Samoon Foundation Launches 16th Skill Development Centre (SSDC-16)

To help rural women become self-reliant, the Samoon Foundation successfully opened its 16th Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC-16) on 22 June 2026. The centre was inaugurated in Chanji Main Bazar, Tehri Garhwal, in the presence of many local leaders, youth, and villagers.

Chief Guest Smt. Pinky Devi (Area Panchayat Member), Smt. Archana Devi (Pradhan), Mr. Gaurav Singh Rawat (Pradhan), and program organizer Mr. Vikram Ghanata (District Panchayat Member) graced the event. Mr. Vikram Shah represented the Samoon Foundation team at the launch.

This new training centre will provide free sewing and tailoring skills to women from nearby villages like Chanji Talli, Chanji Malli, Ganwadi, Kathud, Bhona, and others. The main goal is to help women earn their own livelihood, create local jobs, and improve the financial condition of rural families.

The villagers highly appreciated this step and said that such centres bring new opportunities to remote mountain areas. Just like our previous 15 centres, SSDC-16 will also help rural women gain skills and confidence. We thank all the village representatives, trainers, and especially Mr. Vikram Ghanata ji for his great efforts in making this centre a reality.

ग्रामीण महिलाओं को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने की दिशा में समूण फाउंडेशन ने एक और बड़ा कदम उठाया है। 22 जून 2026 को टिहरी गढ़वाल के चंजी मुख्य बाजार में 'समूण स्किल डेवलपमेंट सेंटर' (SSDC-16) का सफलतापूर्वक उद्घाटन किया गया। यह संस्था द्वारा शुरू किया गया 16वां ट्रेनिंग सेंटर है।

इस उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में मुख्य अतिथि श्रीमती पिंकी देवी (क्षेत्र पंचायत सदस्य), श्रीमती अर्चना देवी (प्रधान), श्री गौरव सिंह रावत (प्रधान) और कार्यक्रम के आयोजक श्री विक्रम घनता (जिला पंचायत सदस्य) सहित कई ग्रामीण और युवा मौजूद रहे। समूण फाउंडेशन की टीम से श्री विक्रम शाह भी कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए।

यह नया केंद्र चंजी तल्ली, चंजी मल्ली, गणवाड़ी, कठूड़, भौणा और आसपास के अन्य गांवों की महिलाओं और बेटियों को मुफ्त में सिलाई-कढ़ाई का प्रशिक्षण (Sewing Training) देगा। इस मुहिम का उद्देश्य महिलाओं को हुनरमंद बनाना, स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार बढ़ाना और पहाड़ी परिवारों की आर्थिक स्थिति को मजबूत करना है।

गांव के लोगों ने समूण फाउंडेशन के इस प्रयास की बहुत तारीफ की और कहा कि पहाड़ों के दूरदराज इलाकों में ऐसे केंद्र खुलने से युवाओं और महिलाओं को आगे बढ़ने के नए मौके मिलते हैं। पिछले 15 केंद्रों की तरह यह 16वां केंद्र भी महिलाओं में आत्मविश्वास और आत्मनिर्भरता जगाने का काम करेगा। हम सभी जनप्रतिनिधियों, ग्रामीणों और विशेष रूप से श्री विक्रम घनता जी का दिल से आभार व्यक्त करते हैं जिनके प्रयासों से यह केंद्र शुरू हो सका।

Fulfilling a Father's Wish: Samoon Foundation Rescues and Helps Pushpa Ji Get a Better Life

True humanity lies in extending a helping hand to those who cannot ask for help themselves. The Samoon Foundation recently undertook a deeply emotional and successful rescue mission to support Pushpa Ji, a helpless woman who had been living in extremely difficult conditions for the past 10 years following the untimely demise of her husband. The tragic loss had severely affected her mental health, leaving her dependent on her 90-year-old father. Living in a small, isolated hut with minimal care, her elderly father’s greatest lifelong fear was: "If something happens to me, who will take care of my daughter?"

After a compassionate individual highlighted Pushpa Ji's painful story on social media, the Samoon Foundation immediately intervened. We are incredibly pleased to announce that through the joint efforts of the Samoon Foundation and the administration of Apna Ghar Ashram (Shukratal), Pushpa Ji has been successfully rescued and admitted to the facility. At the ashram, she will receive professional medical treatment, a safe environment, regular nutritious food, and the opportunity to live a life of absolute dignity and respect.

This challenging mission was made possible due to the exceptional ground support of Shri Thunali Sajwan Ji, who worked tirelessly to coordinate with the local village, police, and administration to prepare the necessary documentation. We also extend our profound gratitude to Shri Hari Om Sharma Ji and Shri Vinod Goyal Ji of Apna Ghar Ashram for accepting our emergency request and providing her with immediate shelter. Today, we have not only secured Pushpa Ji’s future but also fulfilled the final wish of a 90-year-old father, bringing permanent peace to his mind.

मानवता की सच्ची सेवा वही है जो बेसहारा लोगों को सहारा दे। समूण फाउंडेशन ने हाल ही में एक बेहद भावुक और सफल रेस्क्यू मिशन को अंजाम दिया है। यह कहानी है पुष्पा जी की, जो सालों पहले अपने पति के असामयिक निधन के बाद गहरे अवसाद में चली गईं और पिछले 10 वर्षों से मानसिक संतुलन खोकर एक छोटी सी झोपड़ी में बेहद दयनीय स्थिति में रह रही थीं। उनके 90 वर्षीय बुजुर्ग पिता ही उनकी देखभाल कर रहे थे, लेकिन उम्र के इस पड़ाव पर पिता को हमेशा एक ही डर सताता था: "अगर कल मुझे कुछ हो गया, तो मेरी बेटी का क्या होगा?"

सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से जब समूण फाउंडेशन को पुष्पा जी की इस पीड़ादायक स्थिति का पता चला, तो हमारी टीम ने तुरंत कार्रवाई की। हमें यह बताते हुए अत्यंत प्रसन्नता हो रही है कि समूण फाउंडेशन के प्रयासों और 'अपना घर आश्रम' (शुक्रताल) के सहयोग से पुष्पा जी का सफलतापूर्वक रेस्क्यू कर उन्हें आश्रम में दाखिल करा दिया गया है। अब आश्रम में उन्हें उचित इलाज, सुरक्षित वातावरण, नियमित भोजन और एक सम्मानजनक जीवन जीने का अवसर मिलेगा।

इस मिशन को सफल बनाने में श्री थुनाली सजवान जी का विशेष योगदान रहा, जिन्होंने गांव से जानकारी जुटाने, पुलिस व प्रशासन के साथ समन्वय स्थापित करने और कागजी कार्रवाई पूरी करने में निरंतर सहयोग किया। हम 'अपना घर आश्रम' के श्री हरी ओम शर्मा जी और श्री विनोद गोयल जी का भी हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करते हैं जिन्होंने हमारे अनुरोध पर पुष्पा जी को तुरंत आश्रय दिया। आज न केवल पुष्पा जी को एक नया जीवन मिला है, बल्कि एक 90 साल के बुजुर्ग पिता की बरसों पुरानी चिंता भी हमेशा के लिए खत्म हो गई है।

Fun and Growth: Empowering Young Minds Through Digital Skills and Sports at Kotsara

To make learning fun, practical, and engaging, the Samoon Foundation successfully organized a Free Summer Camp from 1 June to 14 June 2026 at the Samoon Computer Training Institute (SCTI05) in Kotsara Village, Pauri Garhwal. This wonderful initiative was fully supported by Pravasi Uttarakhandi Shri Aman Bisht Ji.

The camp offered children between the ages of 4 to 18 a great chance to learn basic computer skills, typing, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, email creation, and safe internet usage. Alongside digital skills, kids enjoyed basic English communication and sports like cricket, football, and teamwork exercises to keep them active and motivated.

The best part of this camp was the beautiful exchange of knowledge between the children. Students visiting from big cities like Delhi for their summer vacations volunteered to teach computer skills and English to the local village kids. In return, the village children introduced the city kids to outdoor traditional games, local culture, and nature experiences.

This camp became a beautiful platform where children from different backgrounds built lifelong friendships and grew together. We thank Shri Aman Bisht Ji for his generous support in bringing digital empowerment to rural youth.

पढ़ाई को मजेदार और व्यावहारिक बनाने के उद्देश्य से, समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा 1 जून से 14 जून 2026 तक 'समूण कंप्यूटर ट्रेनिंग इंस्टीट्यूट' (SCTI05), ग्राम कोटसरा (पौड़ी गढ़वाल) में एक निशुल्क समर कैंप का सफलतापूर्वक आयोजन किया गया। इस सुंदर मुहिम को प्रवासी उत्तराखंडी श्री अमन बीष्ट जी का बहुमूल्य सहयोग मिला था।

इस कैंप में 4 से 18 वर्ष के बच्चों को कंप्यूटर की बेसिक जानकारी, टाइपिंग, फाइल-फॉल्डर का उपयोग, MS Word, MS PowerPoint और इंटरनेट व ईमेल का सुरक्षित इस्तेमाल सीखने का मौका मिला। इसके साथ ही बच्चों ने बेसिक इंग्लिश कम्युनिकेशन, क्रिकेट, फुटबॉल और कई मजेदार खेलों में भी भाग लिया, जिससे पढ़ाई उनके लिए मनोरंजक बन गई।

इस कैंप का सबसे खूबसूरत पहलू बच्चों के बीच ज्ञान का आदान-प्रदान रहा। गर्मियों की छुट्टियों में दिल्ली जैसे बड़े शहरों से गांव आए बच्चों ने यहां के स्थानीय बच्चों को कंप्यूटर और इंग्लिश सिखाने में मदद की। बदले में, गांव के बच्चों ने उन्हें पारंपरिक मैदानी खेल, टीमवर्क और पहाड़ों के सुंदर अनुभव साझा किए।

यह कैंप अलग-अलग परिवेश के बच्चों को एक साथ लाने, उनमें दोस्ती बढ़ाने और साथ मिलकर आगे बढ़ने का एक बेहतरीन जरिया बना। ग्रामीण बच्चों को डिजिटल रूप से सक्षम बनाने में सहयोग देने के लिए हम श्री अमन बिष्ट जी का दिल से आभार व्यक्त करते हैं।

To broaden our students global horizons and promote environmental consciousness, the Samoon Foundation Head Office in Rishikesh was delighted to host a very special international guest from Italy—Ms. Giulia Manzelli (Giulia Mayra). Giulia is a certified Environmental & Hiking Guide, a professional Tour Leader, and a specialized Forest Bathing (Nature Therapy) Instructor who is widely recognized for her dedicated work in eco-tourism and wellness retreats.

During her institutional visit, Giulia spent valuable time interacting closely with our students. Drawing from her rich background, she shared inspiring insights into global travel, the critical importance of environmental conservation, and the holistic benefits of outdoor exploration and connecting deeply with nature.

The session provided a wonderful cross-cultural platform for our students, who enthusiastically exchanged ideas and absorbed a fresh international perspective on sustainability and eco-tourism. The Samoon Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to Giulia Manzelli for visiting our center, volunteering her time, and bringing such vibrant energy into our classrooms. Fun Learning in the Himalayas: SmartChamps and Mayank Ji Introduce Educational Games at Osla School

These games, which are already being used successfully by schools across India and abroad, are designed to develop children's intellectual and cognitive skills in a highly fun and engaging way.

To ensure these tools are used effectively, Mr. Ravindra Naik, the founder of SmartChamps.in, personally conducted a special online training session for the school teachers. Because Osla is a highly remote Himalayan village with extremely limited mobile network coverage, the teachers and students showed incredible dedication—they walked four kilometers uphill to reach a specific ridge where mobile signals were strong enough to attend the online training.

Rebuilding Lives: Emergency Relief for Grieving Mother and Son in Rudraprayag

For 20 years, Shivani Devi lived a modest, happy life in Mumbai where her husband worked in a hotel. Tragically, her husband was diagnosed with advanced cancer and passed away after a six-month hospital battle. Left entirely helpless and alone with her young son, Shivani had no choice but to return to her ancestral village in Rudraprayag.

However, because they had been away for decades, their village house was completely ruined and unlivable. A kind villager lent them a single empty room to stay in, but the family lacked even the most basic necessities to survive. They had no food rations, no gas stove, no cooking utensils, and no proper bedding or clothes. In deep distress, Shivani reached out to the Samoon Foundation for urgent help.

The Samoon Foundation immediately launched an emergency relief effort. Thanks to our quick-acting donor network, we successfully purchased and delivered a complete emergency household kit directly to her shelter. We provided the family with essential food rations, a functional gas stove, clothing, bedding, and a secure storage trunk to safely store their belongings.

This timely support has brought immediate safety, stability, and dignity back to a grieving mother and child. While their immediate survival needs are now taken care of, the Samoon Foundation will continue to look into long-term support for the child's education. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the donors who stepped up to turn this tragedy into a story of hope.

श्रीमती शिवानी देवी अपने पति और बेटे के साथ मुंबई में एक साधारण और खुशहाल जीवन जी रही थीं, जहां उनके पति एक होटल में नौकरी करते थे। लेकिन अचानक उनके पति कैंसर की चपेट में आ गए और छह महीने के इलाज के बाद उनका निधन हो गया। पति के जाने के बाद शिवानी देवी बिल्कुल अकेली और बेसहारा हो गईं, जिसके कारण उन्हें अपने मासूम बेटे को लेकर वापस अपने गांव रुद्रप्रयाग लौटना पड़ा।

Continuing this unbroken tradition of support into the new academic session of 2026–27, a complete consignment of educational stationery has successfully been procured and distributed to all students studying at the Osla school. Standing Together: Emergency Financial Relief Provided for Mahendra’s Urgent Dialysis

At just 19 years old, when most teenagers are dreaming about their college and career goals, Mahendra Singh is fighting a silent, painful battle for survival. Mahendra has been diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure. Instead of living a normal youth, his days are now dictated by hospital visits, heavy medications, and a desperate wait for a kidney transplant.

Living with this condition is an incredibly grueling ordeal, both physically and financially. To stay alive, Mahendra has to undergo painful dialysis sessions three times every single week. For his family, the expenses have spiraled out of control—covering the cost of continuous dialysis, expensive life-saving medicines, hospital travel logistics, and regular diagnostic blood tests. Making matters even more difficult is the emotional weight on the household; Mahendra’s father has raised him single-handedly since childhood, fulfilling the roles of both mother and father. Today, he watches his young son suffer, exhausting every resource he has just to keep him alive.

To ease this massive burden and ensure Mahendra’s treatment doesn't stop, the Samoon Foundation and its kind donor network officially stepped in. Together, we mobilized an emergency medical relief fund of ₹35,000. Out of this, the Samoon family network successfully pooled and transferred ₹31,000, while compassionate well-wishers sent another ₹4,000 directly into Mahendra’s bank account.

While we know this amount cannot cover the entire cost of a complex medical journey, it acts as a critical immediate lifeline. This financial relief guarantees that Mahendra’s dialysis stays uninterrupted for the time being. Currently, he is undergoing vital pre-operative clinical tests. Once these medical reports are ready, doctors will give the final advice on the next big step: a permanent kidney transplant, where his brave father plans to donate his own kidney to give his son a second chance at life.

इतनी कम उम्र में इस दर्दनाक बीमारी का सामना करना शारीरिक और आर्थिक दोनों रूप से बहुत बड़ा संकट है। महेंद्र को जिंदा रहने के लिए हर हफ्ते 3 बार डायलिसिस की कष्टदायक प्रक्रिया से गुजरना पड़ता है। उनके परिवार के लिए यह स्थिति आर्थिक रूप से कमर तोड़ने वाली है—हर हफ्ते डायलिसिस का खर्च, महंगी दवाइयां, अस्पताल आने-जाने का किराया और नियमित टेस्ट्स का खर्च उठाना उनके बस से बाहर हो चुका है। इस पूरे संघर्ष का सबसे भावुक पहलू यह है कि महेंद्र के पिता ने बचपन से ही उन्हें अकेले पाला है, उनके लिए माता और पिता दोनों का फर्ज निभाया है। आज वही लाचार पिता अपने जवान बेटे को आंखों के सामने तड़पता देख, उसे बचाने के लिए अपना सब कुछ दांव पर लगाने को मजबूर हैं।

हम जानते हैं कि बीमारी के इस बड़े खर्च के सामने यह राशि बहुत बड़ी नहीं है, लेकिन इस मुश्किल घड़ी में यह मदद इस परिवार के लिए एक बहुत बड़ा सहारा बनी है। इस वित्तीय सहयोग से महेंद्र का डायलिसिस और प्राथमिक इलाज बिना किसी रुकावट के जारी रह सकेगा। वर्तमान में अस्पताल में उनके कुछ जरूरी मेडिकल टेस्ट चल रहे हैं। सभी जांच रिपोर्ट आने के बाद, डॉक्टर्स आगे की रूपरेखा तय करेंगे, जहां महेंद्र के पिता अपने बेटे की जान बचाने के लिए खुद अपनी एक किडनी डोनेट (दान) करने की तैयारी कर रहे हैं।

A Ray of Hope: Samoon Foundation Steps In to Rebuild a Collapsing Home in Tehri Garhwal

The Samoon Foundation officially started a house reconstruction project for the family of Mr. Diwan Singh, who lives in Pipola Rangra (Sain) village in Tehri Garhwal. For a very long time, this family had been living in extremely difficult conditions.

Before the foundation stepped in, the family's house was in a dangerous state. With a broken roof, cracked walls, and crumbling stairs, they lived with the constant fear of a major accident. In fact, a part of the house had already collapsed last year, and there was a huge risk that the entire structure would fall down during the upcoming rainy season. A total of seven people lived under this single unstable roof—including an elderly mother and four small children, one of whom has special needs and requires constant care. For months, the entire family lived in fear and insecurity.

To fix this urgent problem, the Samoon Foundation and its kind donors joined hands to help. Essential building materials like cement and bricks have successfully been delivered right to the construction site.

Now that the materials have arrived, the rebuilding work will start immediately. Very soon, this broken house will be transformed into a safe and strong home where the family can finally live without fear, with peace of mind and dignity. This project is not just about putting up walls; it is about protecting a family's safety and building a secure future for their children.

इस प्रोजेक्ट से पहले, इस परिवार का घर रहने के लिए बिल्कुल भी सुरक्षित नहीं था। टूटी हुई छत, दरकती दीवारें और जर्जर सीढ़ियों के कारण हर पल किसी अनहोनी का डर बना रहता था। पिछले साल ही घर का एक हिस्सा ढह चुका था और आने वाली बरसातों में पूरा घर गिरने का खतरा मंडरा रहा था। इस छोटे से घर में कुल 7 लोग रह रहे थे—जिसमें एक वृद्ध माँ और चार छोटे बच्चे (जिनमें एक मानसिक रूप से विशेष देखभाल की आवश्यकता वाला बच्चा भी है) शामिल हैं। ये सभी लोग एक ही छत के नीचे लगातार डर और असुरक्षा के बीच रहने को मजबूर थे।

इस बड़े संकट को दूर करने के लिए समूण फाउंडेशन और आप सभी दानदाताओं के सहयोग से एक मजबूत कदम उठाया गया। घर के पुनर्निर्माण के लिए जरूरी सामग्री, जैसे सीमेंट और ईंटें, सीधे साइट पर सुरक्षित पहुंचा दी गई हैं।

Launch and Rapid Expansion of SSDC-15: Sparking a Wave of Self-Reliance in Pangariyana, Tehri Garhwal

With the core vision of fostering skill development and economic independence among rural women, the Samoon Foundation successfully inaugurated its 15th Samoon Skill Development Centre (SSDC-15) in Pangariyana village, Tehri Garhwal. This newly established sewing and tailoring training facility marks a massive milestone in bringing structural, positive transformation to the women of this remote region.

The ground response from the community has been absolutely phenomenal. On the very first day of the inauguration, 30 local women and young girls eagerly stepped forward to register for the program. Demonstrating the immense demand for vocational literacy in rural areas, an additional 10 participants enrolled by the very next day—bringing the total strength to 40 active trainees, with more applications steadily pouring in.

To comfortably accommodate this rapid influx of students while ensuring the highest standard of training, the Samoon Foundation team took immediate, decisive action. Within 24 hours of the launch, the foundation dispatched 7 additional brand-new sewing machines to the Pangariyana center. With this rapid expansion, SSDC-15 is now fully equipped with a total of 12 sewing machines, allowing a much larger cohort of women to learn seamlessly without any infrastructural barriers.

SSDC-15 is far more than just a training facility; it is a launchpad designed to polish inherent talents, build unshakable self-confidence, and bridge the gap between rural youth and sustainable livelihood opportunities. By learning modern tailoring, these women are preparing to play a vital role in strengthening their families' financial stability through independent home-based micro-enterprises.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Samoon Foundation and ITC Limited Distribute Food Carts in Rishikesh

With the core objective of empowering women and making them self-reliant, the Samoon Foundation organized a successful food cart distribution drive for underprivileged women in Rishikesh. This livelihood initiative aims to provide sustainable self-employment opportunities to financially vulnerable women, enabling them to support their households and build independent businesses.

Under this collaborative program, the Samoon Foundation, in partnership with ITC Limited, presented customized food carts to 10 carefully selected women beneficiaries. The event was graced by senior officials from ITC Limited, including Mr. K. K. Joshi (Vice President & Head – Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Policy & Advocacy) and Dr. Agatha Betsy (Senior Manager – Nutrition Sciences, CSR Projects) from the ITC CSR team.

The ground execution of this impactful CSR initiative was managed by the Prayatna Foundation, represented by its President, Mr. Prateek Kumar, and Project Coordinator, Mr. Atul Rawat.

The ceremony was further distinguished by the presence of eminent chief guests, including Mr. U. S. Dhyani (IRS), Executive Director of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), New Delhi, and Mrs. Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson of the Uttarakhand State Commission for Women. Additionally, Mr. Ganesh Kandwal, Deputy Commissioner and State Nodal Officer for the Eat Right India Initiative (Food Safety Department, Uttarakhand), joined as a special guest.

Representing the Samoon Foundation at the venue were Mr. V. M. Painuly, Mr. Kamal Joshi, Dr. Rakesh Chandra Dangwal, Mr. Deveshwar Prasad Raturi, Mr. Chandraveer Singh Pokhriyal, and Mr. S. S. Gusain.

Prior to receiving the food carts, the selected women underwent a comprehensive three-day professional training program, following which they were awarded training completion certificates. The event also welcomed women who had previously received food carts through the foundation and are currently running successful micro-enterprises in Rishikesh. In total, the mega event witnessed an encouraging turnout of over 100 participants, including beneficiaries, families, and community members.

फूड कार्ट वितरण से पूर्व सभी चयनित महिलाओं को तीन दिवसीय विशेष व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया गया, जिसके उपरांत उन्हें गरिमापूर्ण तरीके से प्रशिक्षण पूर्णता प्रमाणपत्र वितरित किए गए। इस समारोह में वर्तमान लाभार्थियों के साथ-साथ वे पूर्व महिला उद्यमी भी शामिल हुईं जिन्होंने पहले समूण के सहयोग से फूड कार्ट प्राप्त कर ऋषिकेश में सफलतापूर्वक अपना व्यवसाय स्थापित कर लिया है। कुल मिलाकर 100 से अधिक लोगों की गरिमामयी उपस्थिति में यह कार्यक्रम बेहद प्रेरणादायक रहा।

Ensuring Health and Safety: Women Entrepreneurs Complete Certified FoSTaC–FSSAI Food Safety Training

Many women running micro-scale food businesses or managing home kitchens often lack formal training in professional food safety, storage standards, and handling protocols. To bridge this gap, safeguard public health, and elevate the quality of local street food, a certified training workshop was organized under the FoSTaC (Food Safety Training and Certification) program by FSSAI.

During the session, the participating women stepped forward to take the official FoSTaC online test to assess their learning and understanding of safety norms. Certified FSSAI trainer Ms. Monika Bharti guided the trainees through essential topics, such as maintaining high cleanliness standards inside mobile food carts, understanding the root causes of food poisoning, and the proper separation and storage of raw and cooked ingredients. Through clear video demonstrations, the women learned the best practical ways to serve completely safe, hygienic, and high-quality food to their daily customers.

This critical health and safety training was organized under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of ITC Limited, in active collaboration with the Prayatna Foundation, and coordinated smoothly on the ground by Mr. Atul Rawat.

This certified session has successfully enhanced the participants' understanding of personal hygiene, systematic waste management, and standardized safe food handling procedures. It has not only taught them how to avoid bacterial food contamination but also gave them the technical confidence needed to manage an approved food establishment.

Looking ahead, this trained group of selected women will officially be presented with their free commercial food carts on 9 February, empowering them to launch their independent livelihood journeys as certified, responsible food entrepreneurs.

इस महत्वपूर्ण कार्यशाला के दौरान महिलाओं ने खाद्य सुरक्षा नियमों के प्रति अपनी समझ को परखने के लिए FSSAI के आधिकारिक FoSTaC ऑनलाइन टेस्ट में भी बढ़-चढ़कर भाग लिया। FSSAI की प्रमाणित ट्रेनर सुश्री मोनिका भारती ने सभी प्रतिभागियों को फूड कार्ट में साफ-सफाई बनाए रखने, फूड प्वॉइजनिंग (खाद्य विषाक्तता) से बचने के उपायों और कच्चे व पके हुए भोजन को सही तरीके से रखने के नियमों के बारे में विस्तार से समझाया। वीडियो प्रदर्शनों (Video Demonstrations) के माध्यम से महिलाओं ने सीखा कि ग्राहकों को पूरी तरह सुरक्षित और शुद्ध भोजन कैसे परोसा जाता है।

यह आवश्यक स्वास्थ्य एवं सुरक्षा प्रशिक्षण आईटीसी लिमिटेड (ITC Limited) की सीएसआर पहल के अंतर्गत, 'प्रयत्न फाउंडेशन' के सहयोग से आयोजित किया गया, जिसका जमीनी समन्वय श्री अतुल रावत जी द्वारा किया गया।

Empowering Through Skills: Training Workshop Launched for Women Entrepreneurs Under "Snack Point" Initiative

To tackle the lack of practical employment opportunities for women in rural areas, the Samoon Foundation officially launched the "Snack Point" initiative. This program focuses on providing hands-on training, food preparation guidance, and business management skills to selected women, helping them transition successfully toward self-employment.

The first phase of this initiative commenced with a comprehensive training workshop. During the sessions, participating women were introduced to all the vital operational aspects of running a mobile food business. The curriculum focused on how to manage a food cart efficiently, balance daily expenses against savings, utilize profits wisely, and troubleshoot day-to-day business challenges.

This livelihood program is being implemented on the ground through the Prayatna Foundation, under a strategic CSR initiative backed by ITC India.

Beyond core business operations, the workshop provided crucial guidance on navigating modern financial systems. Trainer Mr. Atul Rawat led the sessions in an exceptionally simple, interactive, and practical manner. He effectively utilized team games and community activities to ensure the trainees could easily grasp complex topics, including banking processes, digital transactions, managing micro-loans, strategic decision-making, and matching their daily supply with market demands.

The ultimate goal of this training phase was to fully prepare these women to run sustainable businesses. Upon the successful completion of this training layout, specialized Yippee Snack Carts were distributed to the selected beneficiaries. This infrastructure provides them with a complete setup to launch small-scale snack enterprises right within their local communities, transforming their newly acquired skills into immediate, independent income to support their families.

Empowering Through Digital Literacy: Samoon Foundation Celebrates Certificate Distribution Ceremony at SCTI Rishikesh

The Samoon Foundation successfully organized a certificate distribution ceremony at the Samoon Computer Training Institute (SCTI), situated near Shyampur Phatak, Rishikesh. During the program, students who successfully completed their comprehensive 6-month computer training course were formally awarded their completion certificates. The attending dignitaries highly commended the students for their dedicated efforts and praised the Samoon Foundation for running this impactful, completely free educational initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President of the Samoon Foundation, Mr. Vijay Mohan Painuly, emphasized that the core objective of the institute is to make youth from rural and semi-urban backgrounds completely self-reliant through digital literacy. Joining as the Chief Guest, the Kanishk Block Pramukh of Doiwala, Mrs. Beena Jethuri Chauhan, stated that the free computer education provided by the Samoon Foundation serves as a massive launchpad for these young minds, paving the way for superior employment opportunities in the future.

This distribution follows the foundation's recent relief operation in the same village, where emergency lights were provided to help households navigate nighttime hazards during the aftermath of the calamity.

For families who have tragically lost almost everything to the unpredictable forces of nature, the Samoon Family continues its annual tradition of stepping forward to bring smiles back to the faces of vulnerable households and their young children. परियोजना: आपदा पीड़ित व निर्धन परिवारों हेतु वस्त्र वितरण अभियान

समूण फाउंडेशन की टीम द्वारा स्थानीय ग्राम प्रधान के विशेष सहयोग से आपदा से प्रभावित परिवारों को नए कपड़े वितरित किए गए। इससे पहले भी संस्था की टीम द्वारा इसी कैंतुरी गाँव में रात के अंधेरे से सुरक्षा हेतु इमरजेंसी लाइट्स वितरित की गई थीं, ताकि प्रभावित परिवारों को इस भीषण संकट के समय बुनियादी राहत मिल सके।

प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के थपेड़ों में अपना सबकुछ खो चुके इन परिवारों के दुख-दर्द को बांटने और हर वर्ष की तरह इस बार भी निर्धन परिवारों व मासूम बच्चों के चेहरों पर सच्ची मुस्कान लाने का एक छोटा सा प्रयास समूण परिवार द्वारा किया गया है। आगामी दीपावली के पावन पर्व को इन आपदा प्रभावित परिवारों को समर्पित करते हुए, समूण फाउंडेशन हर परिस्थिति में उनके साथ कंधे से कंधा मिलाकर खड़े होने का अपना संकल्प दोहराता है।

Illuminating Lives: Samoon Foundation Distributes Emergency Lights to Disaster-Affected Families in Kainturi Village

Led by Mr. Manoj Bisht, the Samoon Foundation ground team reached Kainturi village in the Chamoli district—one of the hardest-hit regions by recent natural disasters—to distribute emergency lights to the affected families.

When the Samoon team initially connected with the local villagers to assess their situation and catalog their most immediate requirements, emergency lights emerged at the top of their priority list. The residents explained that amid the pitch-black darkness of the night, having a reliable source of light is absolutely critical to detect imminent mountain hazards or threats early, allowing families to stay alert and evacuate safely if needed.

Responding immediately to this vital request, the Samoon Foundation successfully distributed high-quality emergency lights to the suffering families today, while assuring them of continued support moving forward. This timely relief operation was made entirely possible by the generous contributions of the Samoon Family members and dedicated donors, who deserve immense gratitude for their compassion. Let us continue to stand together to bring hope, warmth, and resilience to these resilient families during their toughest times.

समूण फाउंडेशन की टीम ने श्री मनोज बिष्ट जी की अगुआई में आज दिनांक 24 सितंबर 2025 को आपदा से सबसे अधिक प्रभावित चमोली जिले के दूरस्थ कैंतुरी गाँव का दौरा किया और वहाँ के पीड़ित परिवारों को आवश्यक इमरजेंसी लाइट्स वितरित कीं।

राहत कार्य से पहले जब समूण टीम द्वारा स्थानीय ग्रामीणों से संपर्क किया गया और उनकी सहायतार्थ सबसे ज्यादा जरूरी वस्तुओं की एक सूची बनाई गई, तो उसमें ग्रामीणों द्वारा इमरजेंसी लाइट को सबसे महत्वपूर्ण जरूरत बताया गया। ग्रामीणों ने अपनी व्यावहारिक समस्या साझा करते हुए बताया कि आपदा के बाद रात के घने अंधेरे में गाँव में किसी भी अप्रत्याशित खतरे (जैसे भूस्खलन या जंगली जानवर) को भांपने के लिए रोशनी का होना अति आवश्यक है, ताकि पूरा गाँव समय रहते सतर्क हो सके और सुरक्षित स्थान पर जा सके।

ग्रामीणों के इस संवेदनशील और जरूरी निवेदन पर त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए समूण फाउंडेशन ने आज गाँव के जरूरतमंद व पीड़ित परिवारों को इमरजेंसी लाइट्स उपलब्ध कराईं और भविष्य में भी उन्हें हर संभव मदद का पूरा आश्वासन दिया। संस्था का यह मानवीय प्रयास समूण परिवार के सम्मानित सदस्यों एवं निस्वार्थ दानदाताओं के बहुमूल्य योगदान से ही धरातल पर संभव हो पाया है, जिसके लिए आप सभी सहृदय लोग साधुवाद के पात्र हैं। आइए, हम सब मिलकर आपदा की इस घड़ी में इन पीड़ित परिवारों को संबल, आशा और हौसला प्रदान करें।

Inspiring Young Minds: IIT Roorkee Students Visit Samoon Computer Training Institute for Volunteer Initiative

The Samoon Computer Training Institute (SCTI) in Shyampur, Rishikesh, had the distinct honor of welcoming a talented group of student volunteers from the prestigious IIT Roorkee, who visited the center as part of their dedicated volunteerism program.

The volunteers from IIT Roorkee interacted extensively with our students and faculty, offering invaluable guidance on future career paths. They shared foundational knowledge on cutting-edge subjects like Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the core principles of the internet. Beyond academics, they conducted vital awareness sessions on preventing online fraud, engaged the learners with brainstorming puzzles, and personally addressed individual queries raised by our students.

In addition to mentorship and training, the IIT students extended their technical support to the Samoon Foundation’s administrative IT operations. They actively assisted the team in navigating registrations across various government and non-government platforms, directly strengthening the foundation's digital reach and crowdfunding capabilities.

The entire day proved to be highly productive and deeply inspiring for our students, the ground team, and the IIT volunteers alike. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers for dedicating their valuable time, energy, and shared vision toward empowering rural youth.

समूण कंप्यूटर ट्रेनिंग इंस्टीट्यूट (SCTI), श्यामपुर ऋषिकेश में हमें देश के प्रतिष्ठित संस्थान आईआईटी रुड़की (IIT Roorkee) से आए प्रतिभावान विद्यार्थियों का स्वागत करने का विशेष सम्मान प्राप्त हुआ। ये विद्यार्थी अपने सामाजिक स्वयंसेवी कार्यक्रम (Volunteer Program) के अंतर्गत विशेष रूप से हमारे संस्थान का दौरा करने आए थे।

आईआईटी रुड़की से आए इन युवा वॉलेंटियर्स ने हमारे छात्र-छात्राओं और स्टाफ के साथ बेहद आत्मीय संवाद किया। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को भविष्य में करियर बनाने के विभिन्न विकल्पों के बारे में विस्तार से मार्गदर्शन दिया। इसके साथ ही कंप्यूटर विज्ञान (Computer Science), आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (AI) और इंटरनेट के मूलभूत सिद्धांतों पर अपना बहुमूल्य ज्ञान साझा किया। आज के डिजिटल युग को देखते हुए उन्होंने बच्चों को ऑनलाइन धोखाधड़ी (Cyber Fraud) से बचने के प्रति जागरूक किया, दिमागी पहेलियों (Brainstorming Puzzles) को हल कराया और विद्यार्थियों के मन में उठने वाले विभिन्न प्रश्नों का व्यक्तिगत रूप से समाधान भी किया।

केवल शिक्षण और मार्गदर्शन ही नहीं, बल्कि आईआईटी के इन मेधावी छात्रों ने समूण फाउंडेशन के तकनीकी व आईटी-संबंधित कार्यों में भी अपना महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग दिया। उन्होंने संस्था के कार्यों को विभिन्न सरकारी एवं गैर-सरकारी प्लेटफॉर्म्स पर पंजीकृत करने में मदद की, जिससे आने वाले समय में संस्था की पहुँच और क्राउडफंडिंग (Crowdfunding) के प्रयासों को और अधिक मजबूती मिलेगी।

यह पूरा दिन हमारे विद्यार्थियों, हमारी पूरी टीम और आईआईटी के स्वयंसेवकों—सभी के लिए अत्यंत उत्पादक, सीखने से भरा और प्रेरणादायक रहा। हम ग्रामीण युवाओं को तकनीकी रूप से सशक्त बनाने की इस मुहिम में अपना कीमती समय, ऊर्जा और सहयोग देने के लिए आईआईटी रुड़की के सभी वॉलेंटियर्स का हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करते हैं।
