On December 2, 2024, the Samoon Foundation advanced its mission of educational
empowerment by distributing free warm sweaters to students at Government Primary
School, Bidakot, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. This initiative, part of the Foundation’s
ongoing uniform distribution campaign, focuses on ensuring uninterrupted education
for rural children by addressing a basic yet critical need — protection from the winter
cold. The eff ort was met with widespread appreciation from the school community. Mrs.
Ritu Ji, president of the School Management Committee, emphasized the dual impact
of the initiative: “Samoon Foundation’s distribution of sweaters not only shields
children from harsh weather but also boosts their self- confidence and engagement in
school.
” Supporting this sentiment, Mr. R.Nautiyal, secretary of the committee, noted,
“This assistance during the winter season is highly beneficial for improving students’
attendance and health.”
Parents and local residents echoed these praises, recognizing the initiative’s
meaningful contribution to the children’s well- being and academic continuity. The
sweater distribution in Bidakot marked the Foundation’s reach to 38 schools, bringing
it closer to its ambitious goal of providing uniforms to over 4,000 students across 50
schools by December 31 , 2024.
Through such eff orts, the Samoon Foundation continues to foster a supportive
educational environment where no child is held back due to a lack of basic resources.
