Samoon Foundation organizes scholarship programs every year to support meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds and conducts career counseling sessions to guide them toward better career choices.

This year, the Scholarship Distribution & Career Counseling Program was successfully organized on 25 February 2019 at Omkarananda Saraswati Government Degree College, Devprayag.

Under this initiative:

• Selected meritorious students were awarded scholarships of ₹3000 per student.

• Out of 18 selected students, 13 students received scholarships from Samoon Foundation, while the remaining 5 students were supported by Ms. Roshani Chamoli.

• Students who secured highest marks in their respective streams in the previous semester were honored with mementos.

The program also included an inspiring career guidance session by Mr. Kamal Kant Singh (Deputy General Manager, BHEL Haridwar), who guided students in making informed and effective career choices.

This scholarship project was planned in two phases:

• Phase 1: Scholarship distribution to college students (completed on 25/02/2019).

• Phase 2: Scholarships for primary, secondary, and intermediate school students will be distributed after April, considering ongoing examinations.

This year, the entire program was dedicated to the brave soldiers martyred in the Pulwama attack, as a mark of respect and gratitude.

Samoon Foundation expresses heartfelt thanks to the college administration, faculty members, students, donors, and all supporters who contributed to the successful execution of this initiative.

समूण फाउंडेशन प्रति वर्ष आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर किन्तु मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान करती है तथा करियर काउंसलिंग शिविरों के माध्यम से उन्हें बेहतर करियर चयन हेतु मार्गदर्शन देती है।

इसी क्रम में दिनांक 25 फरवरी 2019 को ओंकारानंद सरस्वती राजकीय महाविद्यालय, देवप्रयाग में छात्रवृत्ति वितरण एवं करियर मार्गदर्शन शिविर का सफल आयोजन किया गया।

इस कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत:

• चयनित विद्यार्थियों को ₹3000 प्रति विद्यार्थी के रूप में छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की गई।

• कुल 18 चयनित विद्यार्थियों में से 13 विद्यार्थियों को समूण फाउंडेशन तथा 5 विद्यार्थियों को रोशनी चमोली जी द्वारा छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की गई।

• पिछले सेमेस्टर में सर्वाधिक अंक प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों को मोमेंटो देकर सम्मानित किया गया।

कार्यक्रम में श्री कमल कांत सिंह (उप महाप्रबंधक, BHEL हरिद्वार) द्वारा विद्यार्थियों को उनके करियर चयन के लिए प्रेरणादायक मार्गदर्शन दिया गया।

यह छात्रवृत्ति कार्यक्रम दो चरणों में आयोजित किया जा रहा है:

• प्रथम चरण: महाविद्यालय के विद्यार्थियों को छात्रवृत्ति वितरण (25/02/2019 को सम्पन्न)।

• द्वितीय चरण: प्राथमिक, उच्चतर माध्यमिक एवं इंटरमीडिएट विद्यालयों के विद्यार्थियों को अप्रैल के बाद छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की जाएगी।

इस वर्ष यह कार्यक्रम पुलवामा में शहीद हुए वीर जवानों को समर्पित किया गया।

Emergency Support & Adoption Appeal for Orphaned Children( पिता की म्रत्यु के पश्चात अनाथ हुई दोनो बहनेँ वसु और निशा को अंतत: शिशु निकेतक रहना पडेगा)

*Location: Village Tyunkhar, District Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand*

Two young sisters, Basu (5 years) and Nisha (2 years), from Village Tyunkhar in Rudraprayag district, have tragically been orphaned at a very tender age. About a year ago, they lost their father, and their mother—who was their only support—has now also passed away after a prolonged illness.

Although their extended family members are trying their best to take care of them, they themselves are extremely poor and struggling to survive. In such difficult conditions, it is becoming increasingly challenging to provide proper care, food, clothing, and a secure future for these young girls. Due to harsh winter conditions and lack of basic necessities like warm clothes, footwear, and adequate nutrition, their situation had become extremely distressing.

As soon as Samoon Foundation learned about their condition through newspapers and social media, the team immediately visited their village with essential ration supplies. Upon assessment, it was decided in coordination with local authorities that the children would be shifted to a children’s home (Shishu Niketan, Dehradun), where they can receive proper care and protection.

In the presence of administrative officials including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Rudraprayag, local police authorities, and Child Welfare representatives, Samoon Foundation member Kamal Joshi ensured the provision of ration and also took responsibility for arranging food support until their transition to the children’s home.

While immediate relief has been provided, the long-term well-being of these children depends on finding a loving and capable family. Therefore, Samoon Foundation appeals to all kind-hearted individuals:

ग्राम त्यूंखर, जिला रुद्रप्रयाग की दो नन्हीं बेटियां – बसु (5 वर्ष) एवं निशा (2 वर्ष) – बहुत ही कम उम्र में अनाथ हो गई हैं। लगभग एक वर्ष पहले इनके पिता का निधन हो गया था और अब लम्बी बीमारी के बाद इनकी माता का भी देहांत हो गया, जो इनका एकमात्र सहारा थीं।

हालांकि इनके चाचा-ताऊ और अन्य रिश्तेदार इनकी देखभाल करने का प्रयास कर रहे हैं, लेकिन वे स्वयं अत्यंत गरीब एवं अभावग्रस्त हैं। ऐसे में इन बच्चियों के लालन-पालन, भोजन, कपड़े और सुरक्षित भविष्य की व्यवस्था करना अत्यंत कठिन हो गया है। कड़ाके की ठंड में गर्म कपड़ों, जूतों और पर्याप्त भोजन के अभाव में इनकी स्थिति अत्यंत दयनीय हो गई थी।

समाचार पत्रों एवं सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से जानकारी मिलने पर समूण फाउंडेशन की टीम तत्काल आवश्यक राशन लेकर गांव पहुंची। स्थानीय प्रशासन, उपजिलाधिकारी रुद्रप्रयाग, पुलिस विभाग एवं चाइल्ड वेलफेयर अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में यह निर्णय लिया गया कि इन बच्चियों को बेहतर देखभाल हेतु शिशु निकेतन (अनाथालय), देहरादून भेजा जाएगा।

समूण फाउंडेशन के सदस्य कमल जोशी द्वारा इन बच्चियों के लिए राशन उपलब्ध कराया गया तथा शिशु गृह में स्थानांतरण तक भोजन की व्यवस्था की जिम्मेदारी भी ली गई।

An appeal for help to support the treatment of Sakuntala Devi, who was severely injured in a fire. (आग से बुरी तरह जली सकुन्तला देवी के ईलाज के लिए मदद की गुहार )

Incident & Initial Appeal (02/11/2018):
Shakuntala Devi Bhandari, a resident of Haripur Kalan, Raiwala, met with a tragic accident on the morning of 2 November 2018. While preparing breakfast, a part of her saree came in contact with the gas stove, and within moments, the nylon fabric caught fire. Despite immediate efforts by nearby people to extinguish the flames, she suffered severe burn injuries.

She was first admitted to District Hospital, Haridwar, but due to the critical nature of her condition and lack of advanced treatment facilities, she was shifted to Kailash Hospital, Dehradun for further care.

Shakuntala Devi belongs to a very poor family and worked as a daily wage laborer near IDPL, Rishikesh to support her livelihood. With the help of relatives and neighbors, initial funds were arranged to admit her to the hospital. However, the estimated cost of treatment is around ₹12,00,000, which is far beyond the family's capacity. Even after borrowing money for initial treatment, they are now struggling to continue essential procedures like regular dressing and medical care.

Samoon Foundation appealed to all kind-hearted individuals to come forward and support her treatment. All contributions received were committed to be directly used for her hospital expenses.

Support Update (01/02/2019):
On 1 February 2019, Samoon Foundation members Mr. K.K. Singh, Mr. Kamal Joshi, and renowned social worker Dr. Raje Negi visited the victim’s home and handed over a cheque of ₹20,000 to support her ongoing treatment.

The emotional response of the patient’s caretaker (her sister-in-law), Mrs. Chandra Chauhan, reflected the true impact and importance of this support.

*आपातकालीन चिकित्सा सहायता – अग्नि दुर्घटना (शकुंतला देवी भंडारी)*

*दिनांक: 2 नवम्बर 2018 – 1 फरवरी 2019*

*स्थान: हरिद्वार, ऋषिकेश एवं देहरादून, उत्तराखंड*

घटना एवं प्रारंभिक अपील (02/11/2018):
शकुंतला देवी भंडारी, निवासी हरिपुर कलां, रायवाला, दिनांक 2 नवम्बर 2018 की सुबह नाश्ता बनाते समय एक गंभीर दुर्घटना का शिकार हो गईं। उनकी साड़ी का एक हिस्सा गैस चूल्हे के संपर्क में आ गया, जिससे नायलॉन कपड़ों ने तुरंत आग पकड़ ली और वह बुरी तरह झुलस गईं।

आस-पास के लोगों ने तुरंत आग बुझाने का प्रयास किया, लेकिन तब तक वह गंभीर रूप से जल चुकी थीं। उन्हें पहले जिला चिकित्सालय, हरिद्वार में भर्ती कराया गया, लेकिन स्थिति गंभीर होने के कारण उन्हें बेहतर इलाज हेतु कैलाश हॉस्पिटल, देहरादून रेफर किया गया।

शकुंतला देवी एक अत्यंत गरीब परिवार से हैं और आईडीपीएल, ऋषिकेश के पास दैनिक मजदूरी कर अपने परिवार का पालन-पोषण कर रही थीं। सगे-संबंधियों और पड़ोसियों की मदद से उन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती तो करा दिया गया, लेकिन उपचार का अनुमानित खर्च ₹12,00,000 है, जिसे जुटाना परिवार के लिए असंभव है। प्रारंभिक खर्च कर्ज लेकर किया गया है, लेकिन अब ड्रेसिंग और आगे के इलाज को जारी रखना कठिन हो रहा है।

समूण फाउंडेशन ने सभी से अपील की कि वे इस कठिन समय में सहयोग प्रदान करें, ताकि पीड़िता का उपचार जारी रखा जा सके।

सहायता अपडेट (01/02/2019):
दिनांक 1 फरवरी 2019 को समूण परिवार के सदस्य श्री के.के. सिंह, श्री कमल जोशी एवं प्रसिद्ध समाजसेवी डॉ. राजे नेगी ने पीड़िता के घर जाकर उनके परिजनों को उपचार हेतु ₹20,000 का चेक प्रदान किया।

चेक प्राप्त करते समय पीड़िता की तामीरदार (ननद) श्रीमती चंद्रा चौहान की भावुक प्रतिक्रिया ने इस सहयोग के महत्व को दर्शाया।

समूण परिवार सभी दानदाताओं का हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता है, जिनके सहयोग से ऐसे मानवीय कार्य संभव हो पाते हैं।

*Medical Support Case – Harendra Singh Bisht (Cancer Treatment)*

*Dates: 25 November 2018 – 01 January 2019*

Initial Appeal (25/11/2018):
Harendra Singh Bisht, a resident of Village Lwani, Deval, Tharali (Chamoli Garhwal), was living a simple and happy life with his wife and young daughter. He worked as a cook in a restaurant in Mumbai and supported his family with his earnings.

However, his life took a tragic turn when he was diagnosed with blood cancer. Due to financial constraints, he was unable to continue treatment in Mumbai and returned to his village. For the past six months, he had been undergoing periodic checkups at Himalayan Hospital, Dehradun. Doctors advised that without timely surgery, his life could be at serious risk. The estimated cost of treatment was around ₹6,00,000 — an amount far beyond his means, especially after losing both parents and being the sole support for his family.

He appealed for help, requesting kind-hearted individuals to support his treatment through Samoon Foundation, which committed to ensuring that all contributions would be used directly for his medical care.

Support Update (05/12/2018):
Samoon Foundation team visited Himalayan Hospital, Dehradun, and provided a cheque of ₹50,000 directly to the hospital for Harendra Singh Bisht’s treatment.

Due to medical restrictions, the team could not meet him personally, as he was under strict isolation along with an attendant. The team prayed for his speedy recovery and expressed gratitude to all donors whose support made this contribution possible.

Recovery Update (01/01/2019):
We are delighted to share that Harendra Singh Bisht has been successfully discharged from the hospital and is now safe at his home.

Samoon Foundation contributed ₹50,000 directly to the hospital and also made continuous efforts to secure government assistance for his treatment. These efforts proved successful, and an additional ₹3,00,000 was sanctioned through government support.

In total, ₹3,50,000 was arranged for his treatment through the combined efforts of Samoon Foundation and government assistance.

Samoon Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to all members, donors, and supporters who contributed to saving a life. We wish Harendra Singh Bisht a healthy and happy future ahead.

*चिकित्सा सहायता केस – हरेंद्र सिंह बिष्ट (कैंसर उपचार)*

*दिनांक: 25 नवम्बर 2018 – 01 जनवरी 2019*

*स्थान: चमोली (उत्तराखंड) एवं देहरादून*

प्रारंभिक अपील (25/11/2018):
हरेंद्र सिंह बिष्ट, ग्राम ल्वाणी, देवाल, थराली (चमोली गढ़वाल) के निवासी हैं, जो अपने छोटे से परिवार — पत्नी और एक नन्ही बेटी — के साथ सुखपूर्वक जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे थे। वे मुंबई के एक रेस्टोरेंट में कुक का कार्य करते थे और अपनी आय से परिवार का भरण-पोषण करते थे।

लेकिन अचानक वे ब्लड कैंसर जैसी गंभीर बीमारी से ग्रसित हो गए। आर्थिक तंगी के कारण वे मुंबई में इलाज जारी नहीं रख सके और अपने गांव लौट आए। पिछले 6 महीनों से वे हिमालयन हॉस्पिटल, देहरादून में समय-समय पर जांच करा रहे थे। डॉक्टरों के अनुसार समय पर सर्जरी न होने पर उनकी जान को खतरा था। उपचार का खर्च लगभग ₹6,00,000 बताया गया, जो उनके लिए संभव नहीं था।

उन्होंने समूण फाउंडेशन के माध्यम से सहायता की अपील की, ताकि उनका इलाज संभव हो सके।

सहायता अपडेट (05/12/2018):
समूण फाउंडेशन की टीम ने हिमालयन हॉस्पिटल, देहरादून पहुंचकर हरेंद्र सिंह बिष्ट के उपचार हेतु ₹50,000 का चेक अस्पताल को प्रदान किया।

चिकित्सकीय कारणों से टीम उनसे मिल नहीं पाई, क्योंकि वे एक अटेंडेंट के साथ आइसोलेशन में थे। टीम ने उनके शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना की और सभी दानदाताओं का आभार व्यक्त किया।

रिकवरी अपडेट (01/01/2019):
हमें यह बताते हुए अत्यंत हर्ष हो रहा है कि हरेंद्र सिंह बिष्ट अब स्वस्थ होकर अस्पताल से डिस्चार्ज हो चुके हैं और अपने घर पर सुरक्षित हैं।

समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा ₹50,000 की सहायता राशि अस्पताल को दी गई तथा सरकार से आर्थिक सहायता दिलाने हेतु प्रयास किए गए। यह प्रयास सफल रहे और सरकार के माध्यम से ₹3,00,000 की राशि उनके उपचार हेतु स्वीकृत की गई।

इस प्रकार कुल ₹3,50,000 की सहायता राशि उपलब्ध कराई गई, जिससे उनका उपचार संभव हो सका।

*Diwali Relief & House Renovation Initiative*

*Date: 21 October 2018 – 10 November 2018*

*Location: Virbhadra, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand*

While most of us celebrate Diwali with lights and fireworks, Samoon Foundation believes in spreading real light by helping those in need. Just two weeks before Diwali, a tragic incident struck the family of Anju Negi in Virbhadra, Rishikesh.

On 21/10/2018, a massive fire broke out in their house due to a gas cylinder accident. The fire completely destroyed their two-room home, which they had built with great difficulty through lifelong savings, loans, and support from relatives and friends. Doors, windows, furniture, utensils, cupboards, electrical appliances, and wiring — everything was reduced to ashes.

Although nearby residents extended immediate help by providing basic necessities like clothes, a gas stove, and temporary support, rebuilding their life was a major challenge for this extremely underprivileged family.

With the spirit of humanity and compassion, Samoon Foundation took the responsibility to renovate the burnt house and help the family return to normal life. With the support of generous donors and well-wishers, the renovation work was successfully completed on 10/11/2018.

*स्थान: वीरभद्र, ऋषिकेश, उत्तराखंड*

जहां एक ओर हम सभी दीपावली पर अपने घरों को सजाकर खुशियां मनाते हैं, वहीं समूण परिवार का उद्देश्य जरूरतमंदों के जीवन में वास्तविक उजाला लाना है। दीपावली से ठीक दो सप्ताह पहले वीरभद्र, ऋषिकेश में अंजू नेगी जी के परिवार के साथ एक अत्यंत दुखद घटना घटी।

दिनांक 21/10/2018 को गैस सिलेंडर में आग लगने के कारण उनके घर में भीषण आग लग गई, जिसमें उनका दो कमरों का पूरा घर जलकर राख हो गया। यह घर उन्होंने अपनी जीवनभर की जमा पूंजी, रिश्तेदारों और मित्रों के सहयोग से बड़ी मुश्किल से बनाया था। आग में दरवाजे, खिड़कियां, बर्तन, अलमारी, बिजली के उपकरण और पूरी वायरिंग नष्ट हो गई।

आस-पास के लोगों ने तत्काल सहायता करते हुए कुछ कपड़े, गैस चूल्हा आदि उपलब्ध कराए, लेकिन इस गरीब परिवार के लिए सामान्य जीवन में वापस लौटना बेहद कठिन था।

समूण फाउंडेशन ने इस परिवार के जले हुए घर के पुनर्निर्माण का जिम्मा उठाया और दानदाताओं के सहयोग से दिनांक 10/11/2018 को यह कार्य सफलतापूर्वक पूर्ण किया गया।

इसके अतिरिक्त, घर के आवश्यक सामान हेतु ₹11,000 की धनराशि का चेक भी परिवार को प्रदान किया गया।

यह पहल दीपावली के वास्तविक अर्थ को दर्शाती है — किसी के जीवन में पुनः उजाला लाना। समूण परिवार इस नेक कार्य में सहयोग करने वाले सभी दानदाताओं का हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता है।
