As part of our social and mankind activities, Samoon Foundation was working on various initiatives to support humanity in rural areas of Uttarakhand. One of the important activities was supporting underprivileged students in rural hilly areas of Uttarakhand by providing annual scholarships.  

We had received a list of more than 100 students who applied for the scholarship, and out of these, 41 students were selected in the first batch for support.  

You could help a child escape from the bonds of poverty through our sponsor program. Child sponsorship connected you with a child in need and let you provide life-changing benefits to that child for a low monthly and yearly contribution. Your sponsorship ensured that poverty didn’t stand in the way of a child’s education.  

When you sponsored a child, you were connected with one child who needed help and support to empower her/his life to change. You could directly call the family on the given mobile number to know the results of the child, or ask Samoon Foundation to provide the same.  

To adopt a child, you could draft us an email at samoonfoundation@gmail.com. We would provide you details of the student. You could then transfer INR 5000 for students of grade 8-12 and INR 3000 for students of grade 1 to 7 to the below-mentioned Samoon account.

सामाजिक एवं मानवता के कार्यों के अंतर्गत समून फाउंडेशन उत्तराखंड के ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में मानवता की सहायता के लिए विभिन्न गतिविधियाँ कर रहा था। इनमें से एक महत्वपूर्ण गतिविधि उत्तराखंड के ग्रामीण पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों के वंचित छात्रों को वार्षिक छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान करके सहायता करना था।  

हमें छात्रवृत्ति के लिए 100 से अधिक छात्रों के आवेदन प्राप्त हुए थे, जिनमें से 41 छात्रों का चयन पहले बैच के लिए किया गया था।  

आप हमारे प्रायोजन कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से एक बच्चे को गरीबी के बंधनों से मुक्त होने में मदद कर सकते थे। बाल प्रायोजन आपको एक जरूरतमंद बच्चे से जोड़ता था और आपको कम मासिक एवं वार्षिक योगदान पर उस बच्चे को जीवन बदलने वाले लाभ प्रदान करने का अवसर देता था। आपका प्रायोजन यह सुनिश्चित करता था कि गरीबी बच्चे की शिक्षा के आड़े न आए।  

जब आप किसी बच्चे को प्रायोजित करते थे, तो आप एक ऐसे बच्चे से जुड़ते थे जिसे अपना जीवन बदलने के लिए मदद और समर्थन की आवश्यकता थी। आप बच्चे के परिणाम जानने के लिए परिवार को दिए गए मोबाइल नंबर पर सीधे कॉल कर सकते थे या समून फाउंडेशन से जानकारी माँग सकते थे।

Midnight blanket distribution for roadside needy people(आधी रात में सड़क किनारे जरूरतमंदों को कम्बल वितरण)

As a part of social & mankind activities, on 29/12/2016 at midnight from 12 AM to 3 AM, the team members of Samoon Foundation distributed blankets to the poor & helpless people sleeping on roadsides under the open sky in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand.  

Every year during the season of shivering cold in the months of December & January, the volunteers of Samoon Foundation along with some local residents visit in search of needy people sleeping under the open sky on the coldest night and donate them warm clothes and blankets.  

The areas covered by the team were Triveni Ghat, Muni Ki Reti, Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Railway Station & Bus Station etc. The team found many needy people who were staying under the open sky in this shivering cold weather, even though they didn’t have enough clothes to cover their body. Team Samoon distributed blankets & warm clothes to such people. The team of volunteers also distributed blankets to the poor people and kids residing in slums.  

Every year we organise such activities with the help of our donors who donate to us for this noble cause which directly reach needy persons through us.  

Special thanks to Kamal Joshi ji & Narendra Maithani ji, team members of Samoon Foundation, who distributed the blankets to the needy at midnight.

                                            *आधी रात में सड़क किनारे जरूरतमंदों को कम्बल वितरण*  

*दिनांक: 29 दिसम्बर, 2016 | समय: रात्रि 12:00 बजे – 3:00 बजे*  

*स्थान: ऋषिकेश, उत्तराखंड*  

सामाजिक एवं मानवता के कार्यों के अंतर्गत दिनांक 29/12/2016 को आधी रात 12 बजे से 3 बजे तक समून फाउंडेशन की टीम ने ऋषिकेश, उत्तराखंड में खुले आसमान के नीचे सड़कों के किनारे सो रहे गरीब एवं बेसहारा लोगों को कम्बल वितरित किए।  

हर साल दिसम्बर और जनवरी के कड़ाके की ठंड के मौसम में समून फाउंडेशन के स्वयंसेवक कुछ स्थानीय निवासियों के साथ सबसे ठंडी रात को खुले आसमान के नीचे सो रहे जरूरतमंद लोगों की तलाश में जाते हैं और उन्हें गर्म कपड़े और कम्बल दान करते हैं।  

टीम द्वारा कवर किए गए क्षेत्र थे त्रिवेणी घाट, मुनि की रेती, लक्ष्मण झूला, राम झूला, रेलवे स्टेशन एवं बस स्टेशन आदि। टीम को इस कड़कड़ाती ठंड में खुले आसमान के नीचे रहने वाले कई जरूरतमंद लोग मिले, जिनके पास शरीर ढकने के लिए पर्याप्त कपड़े भी नहीं थे। टीम समून ने ऐसे लोगों को कम्बल एवं गर्म कपड़े वितरित किए। स्वयंसेवकों की टीम ने झुग्गियों में रहने वाले गरीब लोगों और बच्चों को भी कम्बल बाँटे।  

हम हर साल ऐसे कार्य अपने दानदाताओं की मदद से आयोजित करते हैं, जो इस नेक काम के लिए हमें दान देते हैं और जो सीधे जरूरतमंद व्यक्तियों तक पहुँचता है।  

समून फाउंडेशन के टीम सदस्य श्री कमल जोशी जी एवं श्री नरेन्द्र मैठाणी जी का विशेष धन्यवाद, जिन्होंने आधी रात को जरूरतमंदों को कम्बल वितरित किए।

Samoon Foundation launched the “Woollens Collection and Distribution to Needy” campaign on 15 October 2016 across different cities of Uttarakhand. Many kind-hearted people from Rishikesh, Dehradun, and Haridwar came forward and donated used clothes to us.  
We selected clothes that were in good condition, recycled them, and distributed them to needy people in Rishikesh on 17th December, 2016. After distribution, we still had more than 19 bags of used clothes available, which we donated to “Goonj Foundation” in Rishikesh. We also donated a cheque of INR 2100/- to Goonj Foundation.  
Goonj Foundation is one of the top NGOs in India that annually deals with over 3000 tons of materials. They recycle the clothes and make new items from them.  
Thanks to Mr. Kamal Joshi, Team Member & Area Coordinator of Samoon Foundation in Rishikesh, who took responsibility to deliver all the clothes to the office of Goonj Foundation.

              *“जरूरतमंदों के लिए ऊनी वस्त्र संग्रह एवं वितरण” अभियान – गूंज फाउंडेशन के साथ सहयोग*

समून फाउंडेशन ने 15 अक्टूबर 2016 से उत्तराखंड के विभिन्न शहरों में “जरूरतमंदों के लिए ऊनी वस्त्र संग्रह एवं वितरण” अभियान शुरू किया। ऋषिकेश, देहरादून और हरिद्वार से कई नेकदिल लोगों ने आगे आकर हमें पुराने कपड़े दान किए।  
हमने अच्छी स्थिति वाले कपड़ों को चुना, उन्हें रीसाइकिल किया और 17 दिसम्बर, 2016 को ऋषिकेश में जरूरतमंद लोगों को वितरित किया। वितरण के बाद भी हमारे पास 19 बैग से अधिक पुराने कपड़े उपलब्ध थे, जिन्हें हमने ऋषिकेश में “गूंज फाउंडेशन” को दान कर दिया। साथ ही गूंज फाउंडेशन को INR 2100/- का चेक भी दान किया।  
गूंज फाउंडेशन भारत के शीर्ष एनजीओ में से एक है जो सालाना 3000 टन से अधिक सामग्री का प्रबंधन करता है। वे कपड़ों को रीसाइकिल करके उनसे नई वस्तुएँ बनाते हैं।

On 29/12/2016, to mark the 91st birth anniversary of Uttarakhand’s pride and jurist Indramani Badoni Ji, Samoon Foundation distributed clothes and educational supplies like notebooks, pencils, etc. to underprivileged children at Govt. Primary School Lalyadi, Thalisain.  

The drive was led by team member Shri Narendra Mathani Ji. Village Pradhan Shri Pratap Singh Gusain, along with school teachers and students, were present on the occasion.

आज दिनांक 29/12/2016 को उत्तराखंड के गर्व, न्यायविद इन्द्रमणि बडोनी जी की 91वीं जन्मतिथि के अवसर पर सम्पूर्ण फाउंडेशन द्वारा टीम सदस्य श्री नरेन्द्र मैठाणी जी के नेतृत्व में राजकीय प्राथमिक विद्यालय लाल्याड़ी - थलीसैंण में गरीब बच्चों को कपड़े एवं शिक्षा की सामग्री जैसे कापी, पेंसिल आदि वितरित किए गए।  

इस अवसर पर ग्राम प्रधान श्री प्रताप सिंह गुसाईं एवं विद्यालय के शिक्षक व विद्यार्थी उपस्थित थे।

Samoon Foundation ran a campaign across Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun, appealing to people to donate old woolens and clothes that were no longer in use or had become small, for the needy. From 15 October to 15 December, we promoted the drive through social media, print media, posters, and banners.  

We received overwhelming support from all three cities and collected a large number of clothes. After recycling and sorting, the items were distributed to the needy in slum areas of Rishikesh on 17/12/2016. The team also distributed blankets at night to those sleeping under the open sky.  

Our purpose was not just to help the needy in these cities, but to inspire people to donate old clothes. Some exchange old clothes for utensils; we believe that the virtue earned by donating them to the needy is priceless compared to the little money received from selling them.  

Samoon Foundation is dedicated to humanity and continues to serve. This project was completed successfully with the cooperation of the following members:

                                           *शीतकालीन वस्त्र एवं कम्बल वितरण अभियान*  

*दिनांक: 15 अक्टूबर – 17 दिसम्बर, 2016*  

*स्थान: ऋषिकेश, हरिद्वार व देहरादून, उत्तराखंड*  

सम्पूर्ण फाउंडेशन की टीम ने ऋषिकेश, हरिद्वार और देहरादून में एक अभियान शुरू किया था, जिसमें लोगों से निवेदन किया गया कि उनके घरों में जितने भी गर्म कपड़े हैं जो छोटे पड़ चुके हैं या जिन्हें आप प्रयोग नहीं करते, जरूरतमंदों के लिए दान दें। 15 अक्टूबर से 15 दिसम्बर तक सोशल मीडिया, प्रिंट मीडिया और पोस्टर एवं बैनरों के माध्यम से हमने इस अभियान का प्रचार-प्रसार किया।  

तीनों शहरों से हमें लोगों का अपार सहयोग मिला और बड़ी संख्या में कपड़े प्राप्त हुए। रिसाइकिल करने के बाद दिनांक 17/12/2016 को ऋषिकेश के स्लम एरिया में जरूरतमंदों को वितरित किये। साथ ही टीम ने रात को ऋषिकेश शहर का भ्रमण कर खुले आसमान के नीचे सो रहे जरूरतमंदों को कम्बल भी वितरित किये।  

शायद हम इतनी बड़ी संख्या में जरूरतमंदों को मदद नहीं कर पाए, लेकिन हमारा मकसद लोगों को पुराने कपड़े दान देने हेतु प्रेरित करना था। कुछ लोग पुराने कपड़ों के बदले नए बर्तन आदि खरीद लेते हैं, या सिर्फ कुछ पैसों में पुराने कपड़े बेच देते हैं। यदि हम इसकी तुलना में किसी जरूरतमंद को दान दें तो उससे शायद पैसे तो नहीं पर जो पुण्य मिलता है उसका कोई मोल नहीं।  

सम्पूर्ण फाउंडेशन मानवता को समर्पित एक संस्था है जो कि मानवता की सेवा हेतु कार्यरत है। टीम समून के निम्नलिखित सदस्यों के सहयोग से यह प्रोजेक्ट सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न हुआ।

During the freezing months of December and January, thousands of India’s poor and underprivileged were forced to live under the open sky. Government data from the Open Government Data Platform showed that 10,933 Indians — an average of 781 per year — had died between 2001 and 2014 due to "cold and exposure".  

To address this, Team Samoon launched a campaign appealing to people to donate old warm clothes and blankets that were no longer in use. We welcomed donations like winter coats, outgrown children's clothes, and blankets in usable condition. The goal was not just to provide warmth to the needy but also to promote the eco-friendly concept of recycling — turning waste into a resource for the less fortunate.  

Donors shared their name and location with us via WhatsApp or email. Our team collected the items and distributed them to people in need across various cities. The drive received strong support and helped many families survive the harsh winter.

दिसम्बर और जनवरी के जमा देने वाले महीनों में भारत के हजारों गरीब और वंचित लोग खुले आसमान के नीचे रहने को मजबूर थे। भारत सरकार के ओपन गवर्नमेंट डेटा प्लेटफॉर्म के आँकड़ों से पता चला था कि 2001 से 2014 के बीच "ठंड और जोखिम" के कारण 10,933 भारतीयों की मृत्यु हुई, यानी औसतन 781 प्रति वर्ष।  

इसे देखते हुए टीम समून ने एक अभियान चलाया और लोगों से अपील की कि वे अपने पुराने गर्म कपड़े और कम्बल, जिनका उपयोग नहीं हो रहा था, दान करें। हमने गर्म कोट, बच्चों के छोटे पड़ चुके कपड़े और उपयोग करने योग्य कम्बल जैसे सभी प्रकार के दान का स्वागत किया। उद्देश्य केवल जरूरतमंदों को गर्माहट देना नहीं था, बल्कि रीसाइक्लिंग की पर्यावरण-अनुकूल अवधारणा को बढ़ावा देना भी था — आपके लिए जो कचरा है, वह जरूरतमंद के लिए संसाधन है।  

दानदाताओं ने अपना नाम और स्थान हमें व्हाट्सएप या ईमेल के माध्यम से भेजा। हमारी टीम ने वस्तुएँ एकत्रित कीं और विभिन्न शहरों में जरूरतमंद लोगों तक पहुँचाईं। इस अभियान को भरपूर सहयोग मिला और कई परिवारों को कड़ाके की सर्दी से राहत मिली।

During the bitter cold of December and January, while most of us stayed warm in our homes with woolens and quilts, hundreds in North India were forced to spend nights shivering in open spaces. Every year, the cold claimed many lives, with small children and women being the worst affected.  

Recognizing that food, clothing, and shelter are the three basic human needs, Team Samoon ran a winter clothing drive. We appealed to people to donate old or unused woolens, blankets, and quilts lying at home.  

Our team collected these items from donors across the region and distributed them to those in need. We also welcomed financial contributions for purchasing new clothes and blankets. Through collective effort, we were able to bring warmth and relief to many families who otherwise had no protection from the harsh winter.

दिसम्बर और जनवरी की कड़कड़ाती ठंड में जब हम लोग अपने घरों में गरम कपड़े पहनकर रजाई और कम्बलों में ठंड से बच रहे थे, तब उत्तर भारत में सैकड़ों लोग खुले आसमान के नीचे रात गुजारने को मजबूर थे। हर साल ठंड के कारण कई लोगों की जान चली जाती थी, जिनमें छोटे बच्चे और महिलाएँ सबसे अधिक प्रभावित होते थे।  

रोटी, कपड़ा और मकान मनुष्य की तीन आधारभूत आवश्यकताएँ हैं। इसे समझते हुए टीम समून ने शीतकालीन वस्त्र अभियान चलाया। हमने लोगों से अपील की कि घर में पुराने या प्रयोग में न आने वाले गर्म कपड़े, कम्बल और रजाई दान करें।  

हमारी टीम ने क्षेत्र भर से दानदाताओं से ये वस्तुएँ एकत्रित कीं और जरूरतमंदों तक पहुँचाईं। साथ ही नए कपड़ों व कम्बलों के लिए आर्थिक सहयोग का भी स्वागत किया गया। सामूहिक प्रयासों से हम कई परिवारों तक गर्माहट और राहत पहुँचाने में सफल रहे, जिनके पास कड़ाके की सर्दी से बचने का कोई साधन नहीं था।

Successful tree plantation drive by Samoon Foundation (समूण परिवार द्वारा 1000 वृक्षोँ का सफलतापुर्वक वृक्षारोपण )

*Location: Munakhal, Saund, Andhyani Villages & Rishikesh, Uttarakhand*  

With the support of Samoon family members and local villagers, Samoon Foundation achieved its target of planting 1000 trees between 25 July and 31 July, 2016. The saplings included Jamun, Shehtoot, Anar, Aam, Baans, and Gular.  The plantation was carried out at Rajkiya Inter College Munakhal, Primary School Saund, and on private lands of residents in villages Andhyani and Saund. In Rishikesh, saplings were purchased from nurseries as per people’s preference and planted near their homes.  We heartily thank the teachers and students of Rajkiya Inter College Munakhal, teacher Mrs. Shikha of Primary School Saund, villagers of Saund, and residents of Sheesham Jhadi, Rishikesh for their full cooperation in making this campaign successful.

समून परिवार के सदस्यों एवं गाँव वासियों के सहयोग से समून फाउंडेशन ने 25 जुलाई से 31 जुलाई, 2016 तक 1000 वृक्ष लगाने के लक्ष्य को पूर्ण किया है। जिनमें जामुन, शहतूत, अनार, आम, बांस और गूलर इत्यादि प्रजातियों के पेड़ थे।  यह वृक्षारोपण राजकीय इंटर कॉलेज मुनाखाल, प्राथमिक विद्यालय सौड़, गाँव अंध्याणी और सौड़ गाँव में गाँव वासियों की निजी भूमि पर लगाया गया। साथ ही ऋषिकेश में लोगों की पसंद के अनुसार नर्सरी से वृक्ष खरीदे गये और उनके घरों के समीप लगाया गया।  इस अभियान में सम्पूर्ण परिवार को सहयोग करने के लिए राजकीय इंटर कॉलेज मुनाखाल के अध्यापकों एवं विद्यार्थियों, प्राथमिक विद्यालय सौड़ की अध्यापिका श्रीमती शिखा, सौड़ गाँव के गाँव वासियों एवं शीशम झाड़ी ऋषिकेश के निवासियों का तहेदिल से हार्दिक धन्यवाद।
