What began as a routine act of compassion during Samoon Foundation’s annual
blanket distribution on the night of January 17 , 2025, quickly turned into a race
against time. As volunteers moved through the quiet, wintry streets of Rishikesh
off ering warmth to the homeless, they came across Ramswaroop— a daily wage
laborer from Tehri Garhwal— lying hellessly in the bitter cold, clutching a hand
wrapped in soiled cloth and pain.
His story unfolded painfully: injured by a falling wooden beam, Ramswaroop's hand
had become severely infected, oozing with a foul- smelling discharge. Though he had
once been admitted to AIIMS, Rishikesh, he was discharged prematurely— still critical,
still in need, and now completely alone, with no family to turn to.
W ithout hesitation, the Samoon team gave him a blanket and sprang into action.
Volunteer Gajendra Rana took the lead, working urgently to arrange Ramswaroop’s re-
admission into medical care. But the need is immediate— and far beyond what the
Foundation alone can sustain.
Today, the Samoon Foundation extends a heartfelt appeal for support. Ramswaroop’s
life hangs in the balance, and even the smallest contribution can make the diff erence
between hope and despair. For those willing to help, please contact Gajendra Rana at

In this moment of urgent need, the Foundation stands firm in its mission— not just to
distribute aid, but to uphold the dignity and humanity of every individual they
encounter
