On January 21 , 2025, in the serene village of Bhaiskoti, Tehri Garhwal, a sense of quiet
celebration filled the air as the Samoon Foundation marked a significant achievement
— completing its ambitious goal of distributing warm sweaters to over 4,000 children
across 50 rural schools and Anganwadi centers.
This final distribution at the Anganwadi Center in Bhaiskoti symbolized more than just
the closing of a campaign; it was the culmination of months of dedication, planning,
and compassion. For the children who received the sweaters, it was a simple but
powerful gesture— one that off ered not only warmth but a sense of being seen,
supported, and cared for.
Mrs. Sudha Saklani, the Chief Anganwadi Worker, shared her heartfelt appreciation,
noting that the Foundation’s eff orts had “opened new doors of opportunity” by
addressing children’s educational and health needs. Mrs. Sona Devi, the Anganwadi
Assistant, emphasized how the sweaters not only protected the children from the
winter chill but also lifted their spirits and sparked enthusiasm for school.Representing the Foundation, Mr. Rajendra Singh Rangad reflected on the broader impact, stating that such efforts are “not just about clothing, but about igniting
change— within families, within communities.
” Social worker Mr. Sanjay Saklani, along with parents and local dignitaries, echoed this sentiment, recognizing the deep significance of reaching children in even the most remote areas.
With this milestone, the Samoon Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to narrowing
the gap between rural and urban childhoods. The successful completion of this large-
scale project stands as a testament to their mission: fostering dignity, equity, and a
brighter future for every child.
