On January 18, 2025, nestled in the quiet hills of Tehri Garhwal, the village of Ichhauni
witnessed a heartening moment of compassion as the Samoon Foundation extended
its winter aid program to the local Anganwadi Center. W ith the chill of winter pressing
in, the arrival of warm sweaters brought both relief and renewed hope to the childrenand their families.
Mrs. Lakshmi Rana, the Chief Anganwadi Worker, watched with joy as each child
received their sweater, calling the eff ort a “selfless and shining example of social
service.
” For a village often overlooked, this simple act of warmth meant much more—
it was a signal that their children mattered.
Adding to the sentiment, Mr. Amardev Thapliyal, the local Ward Member, emphasized
how such support "inspires not just children, but also the community to serve with
more commitment and purpose.
" His words captured the broader ripple effect of the initiative— motivating both public servants and parents alike. Mr. Rajendra Singh Rangad, representing the Samoon Foundation, engaged directly with children and villagers, reinforcing the Foundation’s unwavering vision: to bridge the
gap between rural and urban childhoods. The Anganwadi Assistant and gathered
parents echoed this sentiment, expressing gratitude for the thoughtful intervention.
As laughter returned to the chilly courtyard of the Anganwadi, the Samoon
Foundation once again underscored its mission— not just to provide clothing, but to
nurture dignity, equity, and a brighter future for every child, one village at a time.
