*Blanket Distribution Drive – Makar Sankranti Initiative*

During the harsh winter months of December and January, while many of us stay protected in the comfort of our homes with warm clothes and blankets, there are countless individuals who are forced to spend nights under the open sky. Every year in North India, hundreds of people lose their lives due to extreme cold, with women and children being the most affected.
For the past three years, Samoon Foundation has been celebrating the New Year by organizing a Blanket Distribution Drive to support the needy, helpless, and underprivileged, helping them survive the severe winter conditions.
This year, on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, the drive was conducted by various teams of the Samoon family across Rishikesh, Haridwar, Devprayag, Srinagar, and nearby regions. The campaign continued until 20 January, during which warm blankets were distributed to a large number of deserving individuals.
To ensure that help reached the truly needy, information was collected through Facebook and WhatsApp, which proved to be highly effective. Samoon members carefully verified each case before distributing blankets, ensuring transparency and genuine support.
With a target of supporting around 151 individuals, the team witnessed deeply emotional moments as recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude. These moments reinforced the belief that even small acts of kindness can bring warmth and dignity to someone’s life.

*कंबल वितरण कार्यक्रम – मकर संक्रांति पहल*

स्थान: ऋषिकेश, हरिद्वार, देवप्रयाग, श्रीनगर एवं आसपास के क्षेत्र, उत्तराखंड
दिसम्बर और जनवरी की कड़ाके की ठंड में जहां हम अपने घरों में गर्म कपड़ों, रजाई और कंबलों के सहारे सुरक्षित रहते हैं, वहीं हमारे बीच कई ऐसे लोग भी हैं जो खुले आसमान के नीचे रात गुजारने को मजबूर होते हैं। हर वर्ष उत्तर भारत में सैकड़ों लोग ठंड के कारण अपनी जान गंवा देते हैं, जिनमें महिलाओं और बच्चों की संख्या अधिक होती है।
समूण परिवार पिछले तीन वर्षों से नव वर्ष को “कंबल वितरण कार्यक्रम” के रूप में मनाता आ रहा है, जिसके अंतर्गत जरूरतमंद, असहाय एवं निर्धन लोगों को कड़ाके की ठंड से बचाने हेतु कंबल वितरित किए जाते हैं।
इस वर्ष मकर संक्रांति के शुभ अवसर पर समूण परिवार की विभिन्न शाखाओं द्वारा ऋषिकेश, हरिद्वार, देवप्रयाग, श्रीनगर एवं आसपास के क्षेत्रों में यह अभियान प्रारंभ किया गया, जो 20 जनवरी तक चला। इस दौरान बड़ी संख्या में जरूरतमंदों को गर्म कंबल वितरित किए गए।
जरूरतमंदों तक सही सहायता पहुंचाने के लिए फेसबुक और व्हाट्सएप के माध्यम से जानकारी एकत्र की गई, जो अत्यंत प्रभावी सिद्ध हुई। समूण टीम के सदस्यों द्वारा प्रत्येक व्यक्ति का सत्यापन करने के बाद ही कंबल वितरित किए गए, जिससे सहायता सही लोगों तक पहुंच सके।
लगभग 151 जरूरतमंदों तक सहायता पहुंचाने के लक्ष्य के साथ इस अभियान में कई भावुक क्षण देखने को मिले, जब लोगों ने दिल से आभार व्यक्त किया। इन पलों ने यह विश्वास और मजबूत किया कि छोटे-छोटे प्रयास भी किसी के जीवन में बड़ी खुशियां ला सकते हैं।
समूण परिवार सभी दानदाताओं एवं सहयोगकर्ताओं का हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता है, जिनके सहयोग से यह अभियान सफल हुआ।
