On 16 July 2024, amidst the beautiful green hills of Sauda village, Tehri Garhwal, students of Samoon Computer Training Institute and Samoon Excellence Coaching Centre celebrated Uttarakhand’s traditional festival of greenery and nature, Harela, through a meaningful tree plantation drive.

The initiative reflected the true spirit of Harela, a festival that represents environmental protection, renewal, and respect for nature. Instead of limiting the celebration to traditional practices, students transformed the occasion into an active contribution towards preserving the environment and creating a greener future.

Under the guidance of Centre Director Mr. Vijendra Kumar, students participated enthusiastically in the plantation activity. With saplings in their hands and a commitment towards sustainability in their hearts, they planted trees and learned about the importance of protecting natural resources.

As the monsoon season approached Rishikesh on 24 June 2024, Samoon Foundation continued its tradition of serving underprivileged communities through its Annual Clothing Distribution Campaign. In this initiative, more than 200 clothing items, including shirts, t-shirts, and kurtas, were distributed among needy families and individuals, providing timely support and a sense of dignity before the rainy season.

The campaign was inspired by the Foundation’s belief that even small acts of kindness and service can bring meaningful change in the lives of those facing difficulties. Through this initiative, Samoon Foundation aimed not only to provide clothing support but also to remind people that compassion and humanity can make a difference in society.

Expressing the spirit behind this effort, Samoon Foundation Founder Mr. Vinod Jethudi shared, “We may not be able to help everyone, but we can certainly try to help some.” These words reflect the Foundation’s continuous commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and addressing their everyday challenges with empathy and care.

वार्षिक वस्त्र वितरण अभियान

24 जून 2024 को जब ऋषिकेश में मानसून की शुरुआत हो रही थी, तब समून फाउंडेशन ने अपने वार्षिक वस्त्र वितरण अभियान के माध्यम से जरूरतमंद लोगों की सहायता के लिए एक बार फिर संवेदनशील पहल की। इस अभियान के अंतर्गत 200 से अधिक वस्त्र, जिनमें शर्ट, टी-शर्ट और कुर्ते शामिल थे, जरूरतमंद परिवारों एवं व्यक्तियों को वितरित किए गए, जिससे उन्हें बरसात के मौसम से पहले आवश्यक सहायता और सम्मान का अनुभव मिल सके।

यह अभियान समून फाउंडेशन की उस सोच पर आधारित था कि छोटे-छोटे सेवा कार्य भी किसी के जीवन में बड़ा सकारात्मक प्रभाव ला सकते हैं। इस पहल के माध्यम से फाउंडेशन का उद्देश्य केवल वस्त्र उपलब्ध कराना नहीं था, बल्कि जरूरतमंद लोगों तक सहयोग, संवेदना और मानवता का संदेश पहुंचाना भी था।

Completing 14 years of dedicated service towards women empowerment in Uttarakhand, Samoon Foundation achieved another significant milestone with the inauguration of its 11th Free Sewing and Knitting Training Centre (SSDC-11) on 24 June 2024 in Soud Village, Tehri Garhwal.

SSDC-11 is not just a training facility but a platform for transformation, designed to provide rural women with essential sewing and knitting skills, helping them move towards economic self-reliance and improved livelihood opportunities. Through this initiative, Samoon Foundation continues its mission of empowering women by providing practical training and encouraging entrepreneurship at the grassroots level.

Following the success of previous centres, SSDC-11 focuses on skill development programs that enable women to create opportunities for income generation and become more confident in their abilities. During the inauguration ceremony, Regional Manager Mr. Vijendra Kumar highlighted the Foundation’s wider initiatives in the region, including computer education, academic coaching, and healthcare services. These combined efforts reflect Samoon Foundation’s vision of holistic community development, benefiting hundreds of women, girls, and students across rural Uttarakhand.

SSDC-11 केवल एक प्रशिक्षण केंद्र नहीं, बल्कि ग्रामीण महिलाओं के जीवन में सकारात्मक परिवर्तन लाने का एक माध्यम है। इस केंद्र के माध्यम से महिलाओं को सिलाई और बुनाई जैसे उपयोगी कौशल प्रदान किए जाएंगे, जिससे वे आर्थिक रूप से आत्मनिर्भर बन सकें और आजीविका के नए अवसर प्राप्त कर सकें।

For more than 14 years, Samoon Foundation has been continuously working towards women empowerment and rural development across Uttarakhand. Continuing this mission, on 21 May 2024, the Foundation inaugurated its 10th Free Sewing and Knitting Training Centre (SSDC-10) in Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag.

SSDC-10 is not just a training centre but a platform of opportunity for rural women, where they can learn practical skills in sewing and knitting and move towards economic independence and self-reliance. Through such initiatives, Samoon Foundation aims to provide women with the confidence, skills, and opportunities needed to improve their livelihoods and strengthen their role in society.

The inauguration ceremony also became a celebration of women achievers through the prestigious Samoon Samman Awards. Dr. Geeta Nautiyal was honoured with the Education Excellence Award for her dedication and contribution to the field of education. Mrs. Kamla Dewasali received the Entrepreneur Excellence Award for her inspiring work in dairy farming. The Community Development Award was jointly presented to Mrs. Kamla Negi and Mrs. Nageshwari Devi for their efforts in creating employment opportunities through sewing centres. Mrs. Madhuri Negi, the driving force behind the Veerangna Women Organization, was honoured with the Nari Shakti Award for her exceptional leadership and contribution towards women empowerment.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Geeta Nautiyal along with respected community leaders, social activists, Samoon Foundation members, and enthusiastic local women. Their presence reflected the collective commitment towards grassroots development and creating sustainable opportunities for rural communities.

A Viral Plea, A Compassionate Response –Samoon Foundation’s Timely Intervention

Support Initiative for Elderly Woman & Needy Family

In today’s digital era, stories of hardship often reach people through social media and inspire communities to come forward with support. One such story came to light when a heartbreaking video of a 93-year-old elderly woman, who was struggling to survive and seeking food, circulated online. The video deeply touched the hearts of many and immediately drew the attention of Samoon Foundation, which responded with compassion and urgency.

Behind the viral video was a story of prolonged hardship faced by three generations of a family. The elderly woman was living with her 71-year-old widowed daughter. Her grandson had lost his wife and later went missing, leaving behind two children who were dependent on their elderly great-grandmother and grandmother. Adding to the family’s difficulties, one of the children had also suffered a leg injury, further increasing their challenges. Due to the lack of resources and support, the elderly woman was forced to seek help on the streets to meet the family’s basic needs.

Moved by the family’s difficult situation, Samoon Foundation immediately took action. The team contacted the family and personally visited them on 10 May 2024 to understand their circumstances and provide necessary support. By that time, the child’s leg injury had improved, but the family was still struggling with daily essentials.

Understanding their urgent needs, the Samoon Foundation provided one month’s ration supplies to the family. This support was not only a means of fulfilling their basic requirements but also an effort to restore their dignity and provide emotional reassurance. The assistance helped the elderly woman return home without the immediate burden of seeking food through begging.

This initiative highlights the hidden struggles faced by many vulnerable families and demonstrates how timely compassion and community support can transform awareness into meaningful action. वृद्ध महिला एवं जरूरतमंद परिवार हेतु सहायता पहल

आज के डिजिटल युग में सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से कई बार ऐसी कहानियां सामने आती हैं, जो लोगों को संवेदनशील बनाकर सहायता के लिए प्रेरित करती हैं। ऐसी ही एक घटना तब सामने आई जब 93 वर्षीय वृद्ध महिला का एक भावुक वीडियो सोशल मीडिया पर वायरल हुआ, जिसमें वह भोजन और जीवन यापन के लिए संघर्ष करती दिखाई दे रही थीं। इस मार्मिक स्थिति ने समून फाउंडेशन का ध्यान आकर्षित किया और संस्था ने तुरंत सहायता के लिए पहल की।

इस वीडियो के पीछे एक परिवार की कई पीढ़ियों से चली आ रही कठिन परिस्थितियों की कहानी थी। वृद्ध महिला अपनी 71 वर्षीय विधवा बेटी के साथ रह रही थीं। उनके पोते की पत्नी का निधन हो चुका था और बाद में पोता भी लापता हो गया, जिसके कारण उसके दो बच्चे अपनी वृद्ध परदादी और दादी पर निर्भर हो गए। परिवार की परेशानियां यहीं समाप्त नहीं हुईं, बच्चों में से एक के पैर में चोट भी लगी थी, जिससे उनकी स्थिति और कठिन हो गई। आर्थिक संसाधनों और सहारे के अभाव में वृद्ध महिला को परिवार के पालन-पोषण के लिए भीख मांगने को मजबूर होना पड़ा।

परिवार की स्थिति जानकर समून फाउंडेशन ने तुरंत सहायता का निर्णय लिया। टीम ने परिवार से संपर्क किया और 10 मई 2024 को स्वयं उनके घर पहुंचकर पूरी स्थिति की जानकारी ली। उस समय बच्चे के पैर की चोट ठीक हो चुकी थी, लेकिन परिवार को दैनिक आवश्यकताओं के लिए सहायता की आवश्यकता थी।

समून फाउंडेशन ने बिना किसी देरी के परिवार को एक महीने का राशन उपलब्ध कराया। यह सहायता केवल उनकी आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करने का प्रयास नहीं था, बल्कि उनके सम्मान और आत्मविश्वास को बनाए रखने की दिशा में भी एक कदम था। इस सहयोग से वृद्ध महिला को कुछ समय के लिए भोजन के लिए भटकने और भीख मांगने की मजबूरी से राहत मिली।
