On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day, the Samoon family provided a scholarship of *Rs 3000 per student* to 37 meritorious but financially weak students. This program was organized at Rajkeeya Prathmik Vidyalaya, Sayaneebagh, in which students from 10 schools and 12 villages participated. Teachers and guardians of the schools also took part in the event with great enthusiasm.

The program was started with Saraswati Vandana. Immediately after that, Samoon members Shri Kamal Kant Singh and Shri Kamal Joshi Ji made everyone aware about the identity and objectives of Samoon Foundation. Students who came from various schools also participated in the cultural program and gave their presentations.

After that, 37 meritorious students were given scholarships of *Rs 3000 per student* through checks. Gifts were also given to the school children who came and to the social workers.

Finally, gratitude was expressed on behalf of the Samoon family to all the dignitaries who attended this program and to all those people who helped in reaching this aid to the children.

The Haridwar team of Samoon Foundation included Kamal Kant Singh, Dehradun team included Manoj Rawat, Rishikesh team included Kamal Joshi, and Devprayag team included Arvind Niyal along with other prominent people from rural areas.

On the 71st Independence Day, the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji, addressed the nation and said that:  

"Due to economic and social reasons, no child of ours should be left behind. Therefore, I request all of you who are engaged in nation building to help in the education of the children of the needy. Providing education to one's own child is your duty. But you can also help in the education of any one child along with your child. You can pay the fees of a child, or you can buy books and copies for a child. Not much, even if one person spends time for one child with selfless feeling, a meaningful change can be brought in that child's life.  

Let us all come forward and extend a helping hand for the better education of talented and needy children."

समून परिवार ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस के शुभ अवसर पर 37 मेधावी लेकिन निधन छात्र - छात्राओं को *3000 प्रति छात्र* छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की थी। यह कार्यक्रम राजकीय प्राथमिक विद्यालय सयानीबाग में आयोजित किया गया था, जिसमें 10 विद्यालयों और 12 गांवों से आये विद्यार्थियों के साथ स्कूल के शिक्षकों और अभिभावकों ने भी बढ़ चढ़ कर भाग लिया था।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत सरस्वती वंदना से की गई थी। तत्पश्चात समून सदस्य श्री कमल कांत सिंह और कमल जोशी जी ने समून फाउंडेशन संस्था के परिचय और उद्देश्यों के बारे में सभी को अवगत कराया था। विभिन्न स्कूलों से आये विद्यार्थियों ने सांस्कृतिक प्रोग्राम में भाग लिया और अपनी प्रस्तुति दी थी।

उसके बाद सभी 37 मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को चैक के माध्यम से प्रति विद्यार्थी *3000 रुपये* की छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की गई थी और स्कूलों से आये अध्यापकों एवं कुछ सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं को भी संस्था की ओर से *"समून" (गिफ्ट)* भेंट किया गया था।

अन्ततः समून परिवार की ओर से इस कार्यक्रम में आये सभी अनुजनीय सज्जनों और इस कार्यक्रम को सफल बनाने एवं हम तक इन बच्चों के हाथ भेजने वाले सभी लोगों का धन्यवाद किया गया था।

समून फाउंडेशन के हरिद्वार टीम से कमल कांत सिंह, देहरादून टीम से मनोज रावत, ऋषिकेश टीम से कमल जोशी, देवप्रयाग टीम से अरविंद निंयाल और ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के प्रमुख लोग मौजूद थे।

भारत के राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद जी ने 71वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस की पूर्व संध्या पर राष्ट्र को संबोधित करते हुए निवेदन किया था कि :-  

"आर्थिक या सामाजिक कारणों के कारण हमारा एक भी बच्चा पीछे न रह जाए, इसलिए मैं राष्ट्र निर्माण में लगे आप सभी लोगों से समाज के गरीब बच्चों की शिक्षा में मदद करने का आग्रह करता हूँ। अपने बच्चे के साथ ही, किसी एक और बच्चे की पढ़ाई में भी मदद करें। यह मदद किसी बच्चे को स्कूल में दाखिला कराना हो सकता है, किसी बच्चे की फीस भरनी हो सकती है या किसी बच्चे के लिए किताबें खरीदना हो सकता है। ज्यादा नहीं, तो सिर्फ एक बच्चे के लिए समय का हर व्यक्ति निःस्वार्थ भाव से ऐसे काम करके किसी जिन्दगी में अपनी भूमिका रेखांकित कर सकता है।  

आओ मिलकर मेधावी और गरीबी बच्चों को बेहतर शिक्षा हेतु सहयोग के हाथ बढ़ायें।"

*15th August 1947* was the most glorious and important day in Indian history, because after years of slavery under British rule, India got independence on this day. Although it was not easy for India to get freedom from the British, many great people and freedom fighters made it possible. A humble tribute was paid to all those freedom fighters.

But the question was asked: Did we really get complete freedom even now?

Due to increasing corruption, bribery, favoritism, communalism, unemployment, inflation, poor health and poverty in the country, 15th August became just a formal event for many people. With the increase in the number of rich people in the country, the number of people living below the poverty line also kept increasing. The poor kept becoming poorer day by day and the rich kept becoming richer.

The government was working at its level to eradicate poverty, but it was also the duty of every citizen and human being that if we were capable, we should support our brothers and sisters, come forward to help each other in sorrow and happiness, and help the poor and needy as much as possible.

On this auspicious occasion of Independence Day, *"Samoon Foundation"* provided scholarships of *Rs 3000/- per student* to 37 meritorious students from economically weaker sections, selected from 10 schools and 12 villages. The total amount was *Rs 1,11,000 (One Lakh Eleven Thousand Rupees)*. The selection of a few more children was done and the effort was to ensure that more and more meritorious students benefited.

*15 अगस्त 1947*, भारतीय इतिहास का सर्वाधिक गौरवशाली और महत्वपूर्ण दिन था, क्योंकि वर्षों की गुलामी के बाद ब्रिटिश शासन से इसी दिन भारत को आजादी मिली थी। हालांकि अंग्रेजों से आजादी पाना भारत के लिये आसान नहीं था; लेकिन कई महान लोगों और स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों ने इसे सच कर दिखाया। उन सभी स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों को श्रद्धा सुमन अर्पित किया गया।

लेकिन क्या अब भी हमें पूरी आजादी मिली है? यह प्रश्न उठाया गया था!

देश में बढ़ते भ्रष्टाचार, रिश्वत, भाई-भतीजावाद, धर्मांध, बेरोजगारी, महंगाई, अस्वास्थ्य की स्थिति और गरीबी की वजह से अनेक लोगों के लिये 15 अगस्त की आजादी एक औपचारिक सी घटना हो गई थी। देश में धनपतियों की संख्या बढ़ने के साथ गरीबी रेखा के नीचे रहने वालों की संख्या में भी बढ़ोतरी हो रही थी। गरीब दिन प्रतिदिन गरीब होता जा रहा था और अमीर दिन प्रतिदिन अमीर होता जा रहा था।

सरकार अपने स्तर पर गरीबी उन्मूलन के लिए कार्य कर रही थी लेकिन एक नागरिक और मानव के नाते यह भी कर्तव्य बनता था कि यदि हम सक्षम थे तो हम भी अपने सभी भाई बहनों को साथ लेकर चलें, एक दूसरे के दुख सुख में काम आएं और जितना हो सके गरीबों और जरूरतमंदों के सहयोग हेतु आगे आएं।

*"सम्पूर्ण फाउंडेशन"* ने इस स्वतंत्रता दिवस के शुभ अवसर पर 10 विद्यालयों और 12 गांवों से चयनित 37 आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर मेधावी छात्र-छात्राओं को रुपये *3000/- प्रति विद्यार्थी* के अनुसार *1,11,000 (एक लाख ग्यारह हजार रुपये)* की छात्रवृत्ति प्रदान की थी। कुछ और बच्चों का भी चयन हुआ था और कोशिश थी कि अधिक से अधिक मेधावी विद्यार्थियों को लाभ मिले।

Helping Hand for Blind Couple Sant Ram & Anandi Devi(लोकगायक संत राम जी और आनंदी देवी के लिए सहायता अपील)

 *Appeal for Help for Folk Singer Sant Ram Ji & Anandi Devi*  

  

*Location: Bhaula Dina Village, Almora District, Uttarakhand*  

 

Sant Ram Ji and his wife Anandi Devi were folk singers who lived in Bhaula Dina village, Almora district, Uttarakhand. Both of them were visually impaired and were living a very difficult life. This elderly couple had no children to take care of them.  

After the condition of this couple was seen on Sheelal Media, the Samoon family decided to send a member to meet them and check on their situation. Sant Ram Ji said he didn't need any money, he just needed two meals a day and a house with a toilet.  

We spoke to Mr. Arjun Singh Mehra, the owner of Jatayu Hotel. He agreed to provide them with two meals a day for just Rs 200 per day. Mr. Arjun Singh Mehra said he would cook the food and deliver it to their home, and he would also take care of their medicines.  

Rs 6000 per month was needed for the Samoon family to pay Mr. Arjun Singh Mehra, which came to Rs 72,000 per year. And if Rs 72,000 was collected at once, the interest could be used to cover their food expenses for many years.  

Also, since they didn't have a house, the Samoon family was working to get them a house and a toilet. The support of all kind-hearted people was needed for this.  

Many doors were knocked on and the government was informed, but no ray of hope was found anywhere. This drop had become an ocean. At that time, help was requested from everyone for the respected singer Sant Ram and his wife.

उत्तराखंड के अल्मोड़ा जिले के भौलादीना गांव में लोकगायक संत राम जी और उनकी धर्म पत्नी आनंदी देवी रहते थे। दोनों नेत्र हीन थे और उस समय बहुत ही मुश्किल से जीवन यापन कर रहे थे। इन बुजुर्गों की कोई संतान भी नहीं थी जो इनकी देखभाल कर सके।  

शीलाल मिडिया पर इस दम्पति का विडियो देखे जाने के बाद समून परिवार ने अपना सदस्य भेजा और उनका हाल जाना। संत रामा जी ने कहा कि उन्हें पैसे की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी, बस भर पेट खाना मिल जाए, रहने के लिये घर और नजदीक में शौचालय हो, बस इतना काफी था।  

जटायु के होटल मालिक श्री अर्जुन सिंह मेहरा जी से बात की गई तो वह 200 रुपये प्रतिदिन के हिसाब से भर पेट खाना खिलाने के लिये तैयार हो गए थे। अर्जुन सिंह मेहरा जी ने कहा कि वह खाना बना कर हर दिन घर तक पहुंचाएंगे और उनकी दवाइयों का भी ध्यान रखेंगे।  

समून परिवार को श्री अर्जुन सिंह मेहरा जी को देने के लिए मासिक 6000 रुपये चाहिए थे जो साल के 72000 रुपये बनते थे। और अगर 72 हजार रुपये एक साथ जमा हो जाते तो ब्याज से कई सालों तक उनके खाने की व्यवस्था की जा सकती थी।  

साथ ही चूंकि उनके पास अपना घर नहीं था इसलिए समून परिवार उनके लिए घर और शौचालय बनवाने की कोशिश कर रहा था। इसके लिए सभी दयालु हृदय वाले लोगों के सहयोग की आवश्यकता थी।  

कई जगह खबर दी गई, सरकार के दरवाजे खटखटाए गए लेकिन कहीं भी आशा की किरण दिखाई नहीं दी। बूंद बूंद से सागर भरता है। उस समय सभी से लोकगायक संत राम जी और उनकी धर्मपत्नी के लिये सहयोग का अनुरोध किया गया था।

  The members of Samoon family consider it their social and moral responsibility to maintain a relationship with trees. Under the program "Pedo Se Hai Rishta Hamara", we have set a target of planting 1000 trees every year and are working to achieve it.  

With the help of Samoon family members and villagers, we had successfully planted 1000 saplings last year. This year too, on *30/07/2017*, 600 saplings were successfully planted on village roads and in fields. And on *31/07/2017*, 400 saplings were planted at:  

Octasard Government Rajkiya Maha Vidyalaya, Deoprayag, Rajkiya Inter College - Muniyakot, Government Primary School - Sodi and Government Vidyalaya School in Kuni.  

In total, 1000 saplings of fruit-bearing varieties like Mango, Orange, Apricot, Peach, Guava, Jamun, Lemon, Guava, Apple and local varieties were planted. Along with this, an awareness program was also conducted for village residents and students about the importance of trees and how to protect them.  

Trophies and certificates were given by Samoon Foundation to the villages and schools that cooperated in this work. The Samoon team will inspect all the saplings planted this year next year and take care of the surviving trees.

समून परिवार के सदस्य वृक्षारोपण को अपनी सामाजिक और नैतिक जिम्मेदारी और पेड़ों से अपना रिश्ता कायम करने हेतु "पेड़ों से है रिश्ता हमारा" वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम के तहत हर वर्ष 1000 पौधों के वृक्षारोपण का लक्ष्य रखते हैं और हर हाल में इसे पूर्ण करते हैं।  

समून परिवार के सदस्यों व गांववासियों के सहयोग से पिछले वर्ष हमने 1000 पौधों का सफलतापूर्वक वृक्षारोपण किया था और इस वर्ष भी कल दिनांक 30/07/2017 को गांव रोड और खेतों में 600 पौधों का सफलतापूर्वक वृक्षारोपण किया और आज दिनांक 31/07/2017 को ऑक्टासार्द सरकारी राजकीय महा विद्यालय, देवप्रयाग, राजकीय इंटरमीडिएट कालेज - मुनियाकोट, प्रा. विद्यालय - सोडी और प्रा. विद्यालय विद्यालय सानी में कुल बाकी के 400 पौधों का वृक्षारोपण किया गया। जिनमें आम, अनार, अमरूद, तेज पात, शहतूत, जामुन, बांस, गुरियाल, आमलत एवम् प्रजातियों के पौधे थे। साथ ही गांव वासियों व छात्र-छात्राओं को पेड़ों के महत्व व पेड़ों को बचाए रखने हेतु जागरूकता कार्यक्रम भी किये गए।  

इस कार्य में सहयोग करने वाले ग्रामीणों तथा विद्यालयों को समून फाउंडेशन की ओर से ट्राफी देकर सम्मानित किया गया। साथ ही इस वर्ष के लगाए गए पौधों का समून टीम अगले वर्ष निरीक्षण करेगी और जीवित बचे गए पौधों की देख रेख करने वाली समाजसेवा करेगी।

Trees are as important to our lives as food and water. Cutting trees is like killing human life. Trees play a very important role in giving us a healthy and prosperous life.  

We should plant as many trees as possible on our private and government land to maintain the balance of nature and prevent natural disasters. Forests prevent landslides and give us clean oxygen. They also provide economic support for the progress of the state and country. Since all living beings are dependent on trees, plantation is the responsibility of human society.  

Since ancient times, humans and nature have had a deep connection. Solutions to problems of food, clothing, and shelter were also found in these forests.  

*"From the cradle to the pyre, a human's life depends on wood."* We take a child's support from wood to learn to walk, and in the end, we rest on a wooden pyre. These trees also give us pure oxygen. Seeing the greenery of dense forests makes our mind happy.  

Trees bear the heat themselves and give us shade. As long as they are alive, they give us fruits and vegetables, and when they die they give us fuel for cooking. Cows, buffaloes, goats etc. eat the green leaves and flowers of these trees and give us milk which gives us protein.  

In short, if there are no trees, there is no life. That is why our relationship with trees has continued since the beginning. That is why this relationship must continue. Therefore, the program "Pedo Se Hai Rishta Hamara" has been started.  

It is the duty of every responsible citizen to plant at least one tree in his life. Today people cut trees for their own selfish reasons but forget to plant them, which is why the problem of global warming is increasing day by day.  

Let's plant at least one tree in our life and take care of it until it grows. This way we can maintain our true relationship with nature.  

The members of Samoon family have taken the responsibility to plant trees and maintain their relationship with them. Under this program, we have set a target of planting 1100 trees and are working on it. With the help of the "Samoon family and villagers", we planted 1100 saplings in July this year. We also aim to make the village people aware about the importance of trees so that they can protect them.  

If you cannot join us physically in this program, you can still donate ₹250/- in the name of a family member to plant a tree. Under "Pedo Se Hai Rishta Hamara", a tree will be planted in your name and its photo will be shared with you, so that a relationship can be built between you and that tree.Contribution can be transferred to Samoon account as below:

पेड़ का हमारे जीवन में भोजन और पानी की तरह महत्व है, पेड़ का बिना मानव जीवन की कल्पना करना व्यर्थ है। हम स्वस्थ और समृद्ध जीवन देने में पेड़ों का बहुत महत्वपूर्ण योगदान है। हमें अधिक से अधिक संख्या में अपने निजी और सरकारी जमीन पर वृक्ष लगाने चाहिए जिससे प्रकृति का संतुलन बना रहे और प्राकृतिक आपदाओं को रोका जा सके। वन, भूस्खलन को रोकते हैं और हमें शुद्ध ऑक्सीजन देते हैं। वन देश और राज्य की प्रगति में हमें आर्थिक सहायता देते हैं। मानव सृष्टि का सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्राणी है इसलिए वृक्षारोपण मानव समाज का दायित्व है।  

प्राचीन काल से ही मानव और प्रकृति का घनिष्ठ सम्बन्ध रहा है। भोजन, वस्त्र और आवास की समस्याओं का समाधान भी इन्हीं वनों से हुआ है।  

*"बच्चे लकड़ी के पालने से झूलते, बुढ़ापे में उसका सहारा लेकर चलना और जीवन लीला की समाप्ति पर इन्हीं लकड़ियों पर सोना"* मनुष्य की अंतिम गति है। इन वृक्षों से हमें शुद्ध ऑक्सीजन मिलती है। घने वनों की हरियाली देखकर मन प्रफुल्लित हो उठता है।  

वृक्ष स्वयं धूप में रहकर हमें छाया देते हैं। जब तक हरे-भरे रहते हैं तब तक हमें फल, सब्जियां देते हैं और सूखने पर ईंधन के लिए लकड़ी देते हैं। इन्हीं वृक्षों की हरी पत्तियों और फलों को खाकर गाय, भैंस, बकरी आदि जानवर दूध देते हैं जिससे हमें प्रोटीन मिलता है।  

अंततः कह सकते हैं कि पेड़ नहीं तो जीवन नहीं। जो आदि काल से पेड़ों के साथ हमारा रिश्ता चला आया है, हमें वह रिश्ता निरंतर कायम रखना होगा। इसलिए इस कार्यक्रम का नाम "पेड़ों से है रिश्ता हमारा" रखा गया है।  

प्रत्येक नागरिक का कर्तव्य है कि वह अपने जीवन में एक वृक्ष अवश्य लगाए। आज हम स्वार्थ के लिए पेड़ तो काटते हैं लेकिन पेड़ लगाना भूल जाते हैं जिससे ग्लोबल वार्मिंग की समस्या आज इतनी उग्र होती चली जा रही है। आओ अपने जीवन में एक पौधा लगाएं और पेड़ बनने तक उसकी देखभाल करें। तभी सच्चे अर्थों में हम प्रकृति के साथ अपना रिश्ता कायम कर सकते हैं।  

समून परिवार के सदस्य वृक्षारोपण को अपनी जिम्मेदारी और पेड़ों से अपना रिश्ता कायम करते हुए "पेड़ों से है रिश्ता हमारा" कार्यक्रम के तहत 1100 पौधों के वृक्षारोपण का लक्ष्य रखते हैं और हर हाल में इसे पूर्ण करते हैं। "समून" परिवार व गांववासियों के सहयोग से इस वर्ष भी इस महीने (जुलाई) में 1100 पौधों का वृक्षारोपण का लक्ष्य रखा है। साथ ही गांव वासियों को पेड़ों के महत्व व पेड़ों को बचाए रखने हेतु जागरूकता कार्यक्रम भी किये जाएंगे।  

आप सभी से सहयोग की अपील की जाती है। यदि आप शारीरिक रूप से हमें इस कार्यक्रम में सहयोग नहीं कर सकते तो अपने नाम से या परिवार के किसी व्यक्ति के नाम से एक पेड़ के लिए 250/- रुपये की धनराशी देकर एक पौधा लगवा सकते हैं। "पेड़ों से है रिश्ता हमारा" कार्यक्रम के तहत आपके नाम से उस वृक्ष को लगाया जाएगा और उसकी फोटो आपके साथ साझा किया जाएगा ताकि आपका और उस पेड़ के बीच में एक रिश्ता कायम हो सके।

Deforestation in Uttarakhand and natural disasters("पेडोँ से है रिश्ता हमारा" कर्यक्रम के तहत 1100 पौधो का विर्क्षारोपण)

Every year there is heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand. But in the last 2-4 years we have been hearing about some major incidents during the rainy season. All of us need to think deeply about this issue and work on the root causes of natural disasters and solutions for them.  

When I seriously thought about this, I found the following root causes of natural disasters in Uttarakhand:  

*Causes:*  

1. *Excessive cutting of trees in forests* in the name of "development" in the region.  

2. *Weakening of mountains* due to hydro-electric projects built in the name of development.  

3. *Timber smugglers* cutting good species of trees in the forests. These were the trees whose roots and stones used to hold the soil and rocks together and helped prevent landslides.  

4. *Migration of local residents* from the hills and outsiders settling in the hills just to earn money. Their activities are harming Uttarakhand and nature.  

5. *Increasing population* leading to forests being cut and converted into residential areas. This is causing our forests to disappear day by day.  

6. *Lack of correct information* and lack of awareness among people about life and property safety.  

7. *Failure of the government* to stop excessive construction on ravines (khalas) and river banks.  

All of this is causing heavy damage to life, property, agriculture-land, roads, etc. The biggest problem is landslides. Due to deforestation, soil and rocks are becoming loose and sliding down. A landslide means a large amount of soil, rocks, and water sliding down from a mountain. It carries huge amounts of mud and water for kilometers, destroying everything in its path.  

Uttarakhand's natural beauty is our heritage, but day by day this beauty is being destroyed. If we keep interfering with nature like this, landslides will increase a lot in the future.  

*Remedy:*  

Plant more trees. Protect forests. Stop illegal construction. Spread awareness.

वृक्षारोपण

  या तो हर साल उत्तराखंड में बहुत मूसलाधार बारिश होता है लेकिन पिछले 2-4 सालों से बरसात के समय कुछ न कुछ आपदा घटना सुनने को मिल रही है। हम सभी को इस विषय पर आत्मचिंतन करते हुए प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के मूल कारणों व इन कारणों के समाधानों पर कार्य करने की जरुरत है। मैंने जब इस विषय पर गंभीरता से सोचा तो उत्तराखंड में प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के निम्नलिखित मूल कारणों को पाया :-  

*कारण:*  

- क्षेत्र में विकास के नाम पर जंगलों के वृक्षों का अत्यधिक कटान।  

- विकास के नाम पर बने बिजली के परियोजनाओं से पहाड़ों का कमजोर होना।  

- लकड़ी तस्करों का जंगलों में अच्छे प्रजातियों के वृक्षों का कटान करना जो की मिट्टी तथा पत्थरों को अपने जड़ों से जकड़ कर रखते थे व भूस्खलन को रोकने में सहायक होते थे।  

- पहाड़ के मूल निवासियों का पलायन करना तथा बाहरी लोगों का पहाड़ में बसना जो की सिर्फ पैसे कमाने के मकसद से उत्तराखंड में आते हैं और प्रकृति को हानि पहुचाते हैं।  

- बढ़ती जनसंख्या से जंगलों को काट कर आवासीय क्षेत्र में परिवर्तित किया जा रहा है जिससे कि दिन प्रतिदिन हमारे जंगल खत्म होते जा रहे हैं।  

- सही जानकारी का अभाव, जान-माल की सुरक्षा के इस मुद्दे पर लोगों में जानकारी का अभाव।  

- गदे (खालों) और नदी के किनारों पर बन रहे अत्यधिक निर्माणों को रोकने हेतु सरकार का विफल प्रयास।  

आदि बहुत से कारण हैं जिससे हर मनुष्य में जीवन, संपत्ति, कृषि-भूमि, सड़कों आदि की हानि होती है जिससे कि भूस्खलन सबसे मुख्य है। चट्टानों, मिट्टी और वनस्पतियों का किसी ढलान पर नीचे की ओर विस्खना ही भूस्खलन है। भूस्खलन, एक पहाड़ के छोटे से टुकड़े से लेकर मलबे और पानी के बहुत बड़ा बहाव के रूप में भी होता है। इसमें भारी मात्रा में मिट्टी और पानी कई किलोमीटर तक अपने रास्ते में जो भी मिलता है उसे समेटते हुए ले जाता है।  

उत्तराखंड की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता ही हमारी धरोहर है लेकिन दिन प्रतिदिन ये हमारी खूबसूरती नष्ट होती जा रही है। अगर प्रकृति के साथ इसी तरह से हस्तक्षेप जारी रहा तो भविष्य में भूस्खलन अत्यधिक बढ़ सकते हैं।  

*उपाय:*  

इसके रोकने का एक ही उपाय है “वृक्षारोपण”

In this world, you will meet many kinds of people. Some are so selfish that they don’t even help anyone with a single rupee. But then there are people like Gorisha too, who decide that their first earning in life will be used for a noble cause.  

Gorisha is the daughter of Mr. Kamal Kant ji, a senior member of the Samoon family. Samoon Foundation had sent a list of 41 children who needed financial help for their education. When her father told Gorisha about this, she immediately said, “As soon as I get a job, I will donate my first salary for the future of these children.”  

And today, the day she received her first salary, Gorisha was the first to transfer ₹30,000 to the Samoon account.  

To have a daughter like Gorisha – cultured, compassionate, and generous – is a blessing. May such thoughts come to everyone’s mind. At just 25 years of age, this thought came to Gorisha’s heart.  

You don’t need to do much. Just save ₹1 a day. In a year it becomes ₹365/-. Use that to help someone in need. You will see, the more you donate and help the needy, the more your wealth will grow – double during the day and fourfold at night.

*Meaning:* Saint Kabir Das ji says, just as a bird takes only a beak full of water and the river does not run dry, in the same way, giving to the needy does not cause any loss to one’s wealth.  

__Durlabh maanav janm hai, deh na baarambar,  

Tarvar jyon patta jhade, bahuri na laage daar.__  

*Meaning:* Saint Kabir Das ji says that this human life is very rare and comes after many lifetimes. So do not waste it. Use this opportunity for the welfare of others. Once this chance is gone, it will not come back, just like fallen leaves do not return to the tree.

*करुणा का कार्य: गौरिशा की पहली तनख्वाह जरूरतमंद बच्चों के लिए*

दुनिया में अनेकों प्रकार के लोग आपको देखने को मिलेंगे। कुछ लोग यों भी मिलेंगे जो बहुत ही स्वार्थी होते हैं और जीवन में कभी किसी को 1 रुपये तक की मदद नहीं करते। वहीं कुछ लोग गौरिशा जैसे भी हैं जो निर्णय कर लेते हैं कि जीवन में पहली कमाई नेक कार्य से होगी।  

गौरिशा समून परिवार के वरिष्ठ सदस्य श्री कमल कांत जी की बेटी है। समून फाउंडेशन की ओर से हमने 41 बच्चों की लिस्ट भेजी थी जिन बच्चों को पढ़ाई हेतु आर्थिक सहायता चाहिए। पिताजी से जब गौरिशा को यह जानकारी मिली तो गौरिशा ने उसी वक्त पिताजी को कह दिया कि मेरी नौकरी लगते ही मैं अपनी पहली तनख्वाह इन बच्चों के भविष्य के लिए देना चाहती हूं। और आज जब गौरिशा की पहली सैलरी मिली तो सबसे पहले गौरिशा ने 30,000 रुपये समून के खाते में ट्रांसफर किये।  

गौरिशा जैसी संस्कारी, दयालु और परोपकारी बेटी सबको मिले और ऐसे विचार हर किसी के मन में आएं। मात्र 25 साल की उम्र में गौरिशा के मन में आए।  

ज्यादा नहीं तो मात्र 1 रुपया रोज का कट्ठा करें और साल भर बाद 365/- रुपये बनने पर किसी जरूरतमंद की मदद हेतु अवश्य दें।  

दान करने से और जरूरतमंद लोगों की मदद करने से आप देखेंगे कि आपके धन में दिन दूनी और रात चौगुनी बढ़ोतरी होगी।  

__चिड़िया चोंच भरि ले गई, घट्यो नदी को नीर।  

दान दिए धन ना घटे, कहि गये दास कबीर ॥__  

*अर्थ:* संत कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि जिस प्रकार चिड़िया के चोंच भर पानी ले लेने से नदी के जल में कोई कमी नहीं आती है, ठीक उसी प्रकार जरूरतमंद को दान देने से किसी के धन में कोई कमी नहीं आती है।  

__दुर्लभ मानुष जन्म है, देह न बारम्बार,  

तरुवर ज्यों पत्ता झड़े, बहुरि न लागे डार।_*  

*अर्थ:* संत कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि मनुष्य के रूप में मिला हुआ यह जन्म एक लम्बे अवसर के बाद मिलता है। अतः इसे व्यर्थ नहीं गवाना चाहिए, अपितु इस सुअवसर को जीव हित के लिए उपयोग करना चाहिए। यह अवसर हाथ से निकलने के पश्चात पुनः नहीं मिल सकता, जिस प्रकार वृक्ष से झड़े हुए पत्ते उस पर पुनः नहीं जोड़े जा सकते।  

आइये समून से जुड़ें और मानवता की सेवा करते हुए पुण्य का भागीदार बनें।

*Part 1: Beena Devi’s Story of Courage*  

After the 2013 Uttarakhand disaster, Pan Singh ji of Dhatula village, Kumaon Mandal, lost his life. His wife Beena Devi and two children, Piyush and Ayush, were left helpless and were struggling to survive.  

Beena Devi did not want to depend on anyone. With great courage, she started a small tea and biscuit shop near Simli, Karnaprayag, to support her family. But due to financial problems she could only sell 15-20 teas a day and could not expand the shop.  

With the support of Samoon Foundation, we helped Beena Devi stock her shop with more items. Today, through that small shop and tea-stall, she is able to provide for her family and live with dignity.  

*Part 2: “Humanity is My Religion”*  

On another day in Rishikesh, our team member saw a man in tattered clothes sitting on the roadside. He had no home and had been living on the streets for 1-2 years.  

We took him to get his hair and beard cut, bought him new clothes, and helped him bathe. After that he looked completely changed. He had no ID, so we could not get him government help, but we gave him some money and food to support him.  

There are many such people around us who just need a little support. Serving humanity is the biggest religion.

*समून फाउंडेशन: जरूरतमंदों के लिए मदद के हाथ*

*भाग 1: बीना देवी की हिम्मत की कहानी*  

2013 की उत्तराखंड आपदा में कुमाऊँ मंडल के धातुला गाँव के पान सिंह जी का निधन हो गया। उनकी पत्नी बीना देवी और दो बच्चे पीयूष और आयुष बेसहारा हो गए और बहुत मुश्किल से जीवन बिता रहे थे।  

बीना देवी ने किसी पर निर्भर न रहकर खुद कुछ करने का फैसला किया। उन्होंने कर्णप्रयाग के पास सिमली में एक छोटी चाय-बिस्कुट की दुकान शुरू की। लेकिन पैसे की कमी के कारण दिन में सिर्फ 15-20 चाय ही बिक पाती थीं।  

समून फाउंडेशन के सहयोग से हमने बीना देवी की दुकान में और सामान भरवाया। आज उस छोटी दुकान और स्टॉल के माध्यम से वह अपने परिवार का भरण-पोषण कर रही हैं और सम्मान से जीवन जी रही हैं।  

*भाग 2: “मानवता ही मेरा धर्म है”*  

एक दिन ऋषिकेश में हमारी टीम के सदस्य ने सड़क किनारे फटे कपड़ों में एक व्यक्ति को बैठे देखा। उसका कोई घर नहीं था और वह 1-2 साल से सड़क पर रह रहा था।  

हम उसे नाई के पास ले गए, नए कपड़े दिलवाए और नहलाया। इसके बाद वह बिल्कुल बदल गया। उसके पास पहचान पत्र नहीं था इसलिए सरकारी मदद नहीं दिलवा सके, लेकिन हमने उसे खाना और कुछ पैसे देकर मदद की।  

हमारे आसपास ऐसे बहुत लोग हैं जिन्हें थोड़ी सी मदद की जरूरत है। मानवता की सेवा ही सबसे बड़ा धर्म है।  

मानवता की सेवा में समर्पित समून परिवार के सभी सदस्यों और सहयोगियों का धन्यवाद। आप सभी के सहयोग से ही यह संभव हो पाया है।
