Humanity and service are the core values of Samoon Foundation. The foundation continuously works towards helping people in difficult situations by providing support in medical emergencies and other essential needs.
Sher Singh Ji, son of Shri Ratan Singh, a resident of Village Dobh, Post Office Kharsadi, Patti Bharpur, Uttarakhand, met with a serious accident on the day of Diwali while travelling from Teen Dhara to his home in Dobh. He suddenly fell from a moving vehicle onto the road, resulting in severe injuries to his head.
For primary treatment, he was taken to Devprayag Government Health Centre. From there, he was referred to AIIMS Rishikesh. However, due to non-availability of admission at AIIMS, he was shifted and admitted to the ICU department of Kailash Hospital, Dehradun, where his treatment continued.
Sher Singh Ji belongs to an extremely poor family and is also a differently-abled person. He used to earn his livelihood by washing utensils in Teen Dhara and supported his elderly parents while living with them. Due to the weak financial condition of the family, his aged parents and brother were unable to bear the expenses of his treatment.
The hospital estimated the treatment cost to be approximately ₹3,50,000. His elderly parents were deeply distressed and appealed to everyone for support to save their son’s life.
After continuous efforts and support from the Samoon family members and followers, Sher Singh Ji recovered and was discharged from Kailash Hospital, Dehradun. On 09/11/2019, at the time of discharge, members of Samoon Foundation personally visited the hospital and paid ₹13,000 in cash towards the medical expenses. Additionally, ₹1,000 was directly transferred to the family’s bank account.
Throughout the treatment period, Samoon Foundation remained in continuous contact with the family and made every possible effort to provide medical assistance. The foundation also initiated efforts to seek additional support through the local MLA and the Agriculture Minister from the Chief Minister Relief Fund, with the hope that further government assistance would reach the family.
Samoon Foundation expresses heartfelt gratitude to all members and donors who contributed even a small amount towards Sher Singh Ji’s treatment during this difficult time.

श्री शेर सिंह जी, पुत्र श्री रतन सिंह, ग्राम डोभ, पोस्ट ऑफिस खरसाडी, पट्टी भरपूर, उत्तराखंड के मूल निवासी हैं। दीपावली के दिन शेर सिंह जी तीन धारा से अपने घर डोभ जा रहे थे, तभी रास्ते में अचानक चलती गाड़ी से सड़क पर गिर गए, जिससे उनके सिर पर गंभीर चोटें आईं।
प्राथमिक उपचार के लिए उन्हें देवप्रयाग सरकारी स्वास्थ्य केंद्र ले जाया गया, जहां से उन्हें ऋषिकेश एम्स रेफर किया गया। लेकिन एम्स में भर्ती न हो पाने के कारण उन्हें कैलाश अस्पताल, देहरादून के आईसीयू विभाग में भर्ती करवाया गया, जहां उनका उपचार जारी रहा।
शेर सिंह जी अत्यंत गरीब परिवार से संबंध रखते हैं और वह स्वयं भी दिव्यांग हैं। अपनी रोजी-रोटी के लिए वह तीन धारा में बर्तन मांजकर अपने वृद्ध माता-पिता के साथ जीवन यापन करते थे। परिवार की आर्थिक स्थिति कमजोर होने के कारण वृद्ध माता-पिता और भाई उनके इलाज का खर्च उठाने में असमर्थ थे।
कैलाश अस्पताल द्वारा उनके इलाज का अनुमानित खर्च लगभग ₹3,50,000 बताया गया। बेटे की गंभीर स्थिति को देखते हुए वृद्ध माता-पिता अत्यंत परेशान थे और अपने बेटे के जीवन को बचाने के लिए सभी से सहायता की अपील कर रहे थे।
समूण परिवार के सदस्यों और अनुयायियों के सहयोग से शेर सिंह जी का उपचार सफलतापूर्वक हुआ और वह स्वस्थ होकर कैलाश अस्पताल, देहरादून से डिस्चार्ज हुए। दिनांक 09/11/2019 को डिस्चार्ज के समय समूण परिवार के सदस्यों द्वारा स्वयं अस्पताल जाकर ₹13,000 की नकद राशि का भुगतान किया गया। साथ ही ₹1,000 सीधे परिवार के बैंक खाते में स्थानांतरित किए गए।
समूण परिवार लगातार शेर सिंह जी के परिवार के संपर्क में रहा और चिकित्सा सहायता हेतु हर संभव प्रयास करता रहा। संस्था द्वारा क्षेत्रीय विधायक एवं कृषि मंत्री के माध्यम से मुख्यमंत्री राहत कोष से सहायता प्राप्त करने के लिए भी प्रयास किए गए, जिससे परिवार को अतिरिक्त सरकारी सहायता मिल सके।
समूण फाउंडेशन उन सभी सदस्यों एवं दानदाताओं का हृदय से आभार व्यक्त करता है, जिन्होंने इस कठिन समय में शेर सिंह जी के इलाज के लिए अपनी सामर्थ्य अनुसार सहयोग प्रदान किया।
