On December 24, 2024, the Samoon Foundation reaffirmed its deep commitment to
supporting vulnerable families by extending critical financial assistance to the children
of the late Sunita Panwar. Following an earlier contribution toward her cancer
treatment, the Foundation provided an additional cheque of ₹21,000 to her eldestdaughter— bringing the total support to ₹42,000 — aimed at helping the family
navigate an uncertain future.
Sunita Panwar’s life was a testament to quiet resilience amid overwhelming adversity.
Having lost both her father and husband at an early age, she later faced her own
battle with cancer. Tragically, she succumbed to the illness on December 1 3, 20 24, at
Himalayan Hospital, leaving behind three young children. The Samoon Foundation
stepped in once again, recognizing the family’s dire circumstances, which include an
inability to return to their ancestral village or aff ord rent in Dehradun.
This aid is more than a financial contribution— it is a compassionate gesture aimed at
safeguarding the dignity and future of Sunita’s children. The Foundation remains
dedicated to ensuring that these children receive continued support to meet their
basic needs and access opportunities for a better life. In doing so, the Samoon
Foundation also calls on the broader community to join in this humanitarian eff ort,
emphasizing that collective compassion can be a powerful force in healing and
rebuilding lives shattered by loss.
