Tree Plantation Drive – “Our Relationship with Trees”

Today, the world is surrounded by numerous challenges, and one of the biggest concerns is the disturbed balance between human beings, the animal world, and nature. Rapid population growth has affected this balance and created several economic, environmental, and health-related challenges.
Continuous deforestation has become a threat to human civilization. Changes in weather patterns have become visible, with some regions facing prolonged droughts while others experience severe floods.
Forests and water resources are the foundation of life. When forests disappear, naturally flowing rivers begin to dry, water levels in dams decrease, electricity generation is affected, and water availability in canals reduces. This leads to a decline in agricultural production and creates difficulties for industries as well.
To face this critical situation, along with controlling population growth, there is an urgent need to promote tree plantation campaigns on a large scale. Through plantation and conservation, we can protect the rapidly declining forests and greenery. Trees are truly called the best friends of human beings because they provide countless benefits without expecting anything in return.
With this objective, Samoon Foundation has been working towards environmental conservation through its annual plantation initiative “Our Relationship with Trees”, under which hundreds of saplings are planted every year and continuous efforts are made to protect and nurture them until they become trees.
On the auspicious occasion of Uttarakhand’s folk festival Harela, members of Samoon Foundation planted saplings on 16 July 2020 at Thanadanda, Kimsar, Pauri Garhwal. The responsibility of caring for these plants until they grow into trees was also taken up through UPT.

वृक्षारोपण अभियान – “पेड़ों से है रिश्ता हमारा”

आज की दुनिया अनेक समस्याओं से घिरी हुई है और इन समस्याओं में सबसे बड़ी समस्या प्राणी जगत, संसार और वनस्पति जगत के बीच बिगड़ता हुआ संतुलन है। बढ़ती हुई जनसंख्या ने इस संतुलन को काफी प्रभावित किया है, जिसके कारण आर्थिक और स्वास्थ्य संबंधी कई समस्याएं उत्पन्न हो रही हैं।
लगातार कटते हुए जंगल मानव सभ्यता के लिए एक गंभीर खतरा बन चुके हैं। मौसम में भी काफी परिवर्तन देखने को मिल रहा है। धरती के कुछ हिस्सों में जहां कई वर्षों तक सूखे की स्थिति बनी रहती है, वहीं कुछ स्थानों पर भयंकर बाढ़ जैसी आपदाएं आती हैं।
वन और जल जीवन के अक्षय स्रोत हैं। जब ये प्राकृतिक संसाधन कम होने लगते हैं तो नदियां सूखने लगती हैं, बांधों में पानी का स्तर घट जाता है, बिजली उत्पादन प्रभावित होता है और नहरों में पानी की कमी हो जाती है। इसका सीधा प्रभाव कृषि उत्पादन और उद्योगों पर पड़ता है।
इस गंभीर स्थिति से निपटने के लिए वृक्षारोपण अभियान को बड़े स्तर पर चलाने की आवश्यकता है। वृक्षारोपण के माध्यम से हम कम होते हुए पेड़ों और वनों का संरक्षण कर सकते हैं। वृक्षों को मनुष्य का सच्चा मित्र कहा जाता है क्योंकि वे बिना कुछ लिए हमें जीवनदायिनी हवा, छाया, फल और अनेक उपयोगी चीजें प्रदान करते हैं।
इसी उद्देश्य के साथ समूण फाउंडेशन पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति अपनी जिम्मेदारियों का निर्वहन करते हुए प्रत्येक वर्ष “पेड़ों से है रिश्ता हमारा” कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत सैकड़ों पौधों का रोपण करती है और उन्हें पेड़ बनने तक संरक्षित करने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास करती है।
उत्तराखंड के लोकपर्व हरेला के शुभ अवसर पर दिनांक 16/07/2020 को थानाडण्ड, किमसार, पौड़ी गढ़वाल में समूण परिवार के सदस्यों द्वारा पौधारोपण किया गया। लगाए गए पौधों की पेड़ बनने तक देखभाल की जिम्मेदारी भी UPT द्वारा ली गई।
