Shri Harish Chandra Mishra Ji is originally from village Atthu (Deval), Chamoli Garhwal district, Uttarakhand, and has been working as a chef in Australia since 2007.

During his stay abroad, Shri Harish Ji realized that if all Uttarakhandis living away from their homeland come together and celebrate their festivals and traditions collectively, they can remain connected with their roots and culture. With this vision, Shri Harish Ji and other members registered an organization named Uttarakhand Community of Western Australia (UCWA) in 2016, where he was elected as the first President.

Since then, the organization has continuously been celebrating festivals according to Indian culture and Uttarakhand traditions, while also making efforts to support underprivileged and needy people in Uttarakhand.

Born into a poor Brahmin family, Shri Harish Ji has experienced the struggles of poverty and believes that dedication, hard work, and honesty always lead a person towards success. Having spent his childhood in his village, he feels immense happiness in speaking his native languages and staying connected with his culture. He communicates in both Garhwali and Kumaoni languages.

Currently, Shri Harish Chandra Mishra Ji and his wife Smt. Rita Mishra Ji run a small restaurant named Guru Spices Indian Cuisine.

Regarding Samoon Foundation, Shri Harish Ji believes that donating for the welfare of needy people is a noble deed equal to a pilgrimage.

हरीश जी मूल रूप से जिला चमोली गढ़वाल के ग्राम अट्ठू (देवाल) के निवासी हैं और वर्ष 2007 से ऑस्ट्रेलिया में शेफ के रूप में कार्य कर रहे हैं।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया में रहते हुए हरीश जी ने महसूस किया कि यदि सभी उत्तराखंडी परदेश में रहते हुए भी आपस में मिलकर अपने त्योहारों और परंपराओं को साथ मनाएं तो अपनी संस्कृति और जड़ों से जुड़े रह सकते हैं। इसी सोच के साथ हरीश जी एवं अन्य सदस्यों ने मिलकर वर्ष 2016 में उत्तराखंड कम्युनिटी ऑफ वेस्टर्न ऑस्ट्रेलिया (UCWA) संस्था का पंजीकरण करवाया, जिसमें हरीश जी को संस्था का प्रथम अध्यक्ष चुना गया।

तब से यह संस्था निरंतर भारतीय संस्कृति एवं उत्तराखंड की रीति-रिवाजों के अनुरूप त्योहारों का आयोजन कर रही है और साथ ही उत्तराखंड में समाज के निर्बल एवं जरूरतमंद लोगों की सहायता के लिए भी प्रयासरत है।

एक गरीब ब्राह्मण परिवार में जन्मे हरीश जी ने गरीबी और संघर्षपूर्ण जीवन को करीब से देखा है। उनका मानना है कि सच्ची लगन, मेहनत और ईमानदारी से कार्य करने पर सफलता अवश्य प्राप्त होती है।

बचपन से गांव में रहने वाले हरीश जी को अपनी बोली-भाषा और संस्कृति से जुड़े रहने में अपार खुशी मिलती है। वह गढ़वाली और कुमाऊंनी दोनों भाषाओं में बातचीत करते हैं।

वर्तमान में हरीश चंद्र मिश्रा जी अपनी धर्मपत्नी रीता मिश्रा जी के साथ #GURU_SPICES_INDIAN_CUISINE नाम से एक छोटा रेस्टोरेंट संचालित कर रहे हैं।

Vijay Singh Chauhan Ji, a resident of Akhori, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand, is facing a serious health crisis. Both of his kidneys have failed, and a kidney transplant is currently the only possible treatment option.

Vijay Singh Ji lost his parents at a very young age. After struggling through life and managing his livelihood through farming, he got married and had just started building his family life when, around six months ago, both of his kidneys suddenly stopped functioning.

Being poor, helpless, and without financial support, Vijay Singh Ji does not have enough resources to bear the cost of his treatment. Therefore, he approached Samoon Foundation seeking assistance.

Vijay Singh Ji has a young son, and his treatment is currently ongoing at AIIMS Rishikesh. The villagers have been collecting contributions and supporting his treatment, but the required amount for complete treatment is still far beyond their capacity.

अनाथ विजय सिंह चौहान जी, निवासी अखोड़ी, टिहरी गढ़वाल, उत्तराखंड, इस समय गंभीर स्वास्थ्य संकट से गुजर रहे हैं। उनकी दोनों किडनियां खराब हो चुकी हैं और किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट ही उनके इलाज का एकमात्र विकल्प बचा है।

विजय सिंह जी का एक छोटा सा बेटा भी है और वर्तमान में उनका इलाज एम्स ऋषिकेश में चल रहा है। ग्रामीणों द्वारा चंदा एकत्रित कर उनके इलाज में सहयोग किया जा रहा है, लेकिन इलाज का पूरा खर्च वहन करने के लिए अभी भी पर्याप्त धनराशि की आवश्यकता है।

Wherever we live in the world, staying connected with our roots and culture always remains important. Following this thought, the Uttarakhand community living in Australia celebrated Diwali with great enthusiasm under the banner of Uttarakhand Community of Western Australia (UCWA). Women and children participated in colourful cultural programs and made the celebration memorable.

It is said that happiness increases when it is shared. With this spirit, UCWA contributed ₹11,000/- to Samoon Foundation to help deliver Diwali sweets, clothes, and crackers to needy families in Uttarakhand.

भारतवर्ष त्योहारों का देश है और प्रत्येक त्योहार का अपना सांस्कृतिक, आध्यात्मिक एवं सामाजिक महत्व होता है। इन त्योहारों में दीपावली और होली ऐसे पर्व हैं, जो पौराणिक, ऐतिहासिक एवं सांस्कृतिक महत्व के साथ-साथ खुशियों और आपसी प्रेम के प्रतीक भी हैं।

Sunita Ji (name changed) was facing a very difficult situation before her marriage. Her brother suffered from kidney failure, and despite her sister-in-law donating one of her kidneys in an attempt to save his life, he could not survive. During this process, her sister-in-law became physically very weak and is now struggling to raise her two young daughters.

Sunita Ji’s father is elderly and unable to work. Whatever savings and resources the family had were spent on her brother’s treatment. Under such circumstances, arranging the expenses for Sunita Ji’s wedding had become almost impossible for the family.

Understanding the family’s situation, Samoon Foundation provided essential ration materials required for Sunita Ji’s wedding.

The entire Samoon family wishes Sunita Ji a happy and prosperous married life and prays for her future happiness.

सुनीता जी (बदला हुआ नाम) के जीवन में विवाह से पहले बहुत कठिन परिस्थितियां थीं। उनके भाई की दोनों किडनी खराब हो गई थीं और उन्हें बचाने के प्रयास में उनकी भाभी जी ने अपनी एक किडनी तक दान कर दी, लेकिन दुर्भाग्यवश उनके भाई को बचाया नहीं जा सका।

इस प्रयास के दौरान उनकी भाभी जी भी शारीरिक रूप से बहुत कमजोर हो गईं और अब वह अपनी दो अबोध बेटियों के पालन-पोषण के लिए संघर्ष कर रही हैं।

सुनीता जी के पिता वृद्ध होने के कारण कोई काम करने में सक्षम नहीं हैं। परिवार के पास जो भी जमा पूंजी थी, वह बेटे के इलाज में खर्च हो चुकी थी। ऐसी स्थिति में बेटी के विवाह की जिम्मेदारी निभाना परिवार के लिए लगभग असंभव प्रतीत हो रहा था।

परिवार की इस परिस्थिति को देखते हुए समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा सुनीता जी के विवाह में आवश्यक राशन सामग्री प्रदान की गई।

आज अगस्त्यमुनि, रुद्रप्रयाग के एक दूरस्थ गांव में रहने वाले जरूरतमंद परिवार की बेटी के विवाह हेतु राशन सामग्री उनके घर तक पहुंचाई गई।

There may be countless people who go to sleep hungry even on a festival like Diwali, and many children who are unable to experience the happiness of this celebration. Let us come forward and light a lamp of hope in their lives.

Celebrate Diwali by providing new clothes, toys, sweets, and crackers to children from underprivileged families. If our small effort brings a smile to even one person around us, then that is the true celebration of Diwali.

Let us celebrate the festival of lights with the smiles and happiness of those who need our support.

On the occasion of Diwali, warm clothes and sweets were gifted to respected Kabutri Devi Ji, who lives in Shyampur, Rishikesh, Dehradun. She has no one in this world to support her, and Samoon family made an effort to share happiness with her during the festival.

न जाने कितने लोग इस दीपावली के दिन भी अंधेरे और कठिन परिस्थितियों में जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे होंगे। कितने ही बच्चे ऐसे होंगे जो इतने बड़े त्योहार पर भी भूखे पेट सोने को मजबूर होंगे। आइए, हम उनके जीवन में उम्मीद और खुशियों का दीप जलाने का प्रयास करें।

“This Diwali, let us celebrate by providing new clothes, sweets, and crackers to children from underprivileged families.”

Members of the Samoon family always try to dedicate every festival and celebration towards the service of humanity. Samoon Foundation has been continuously working in various areas of social service, including providing education to poor children, distributing toys and clothes among needy children, supporting medical treatment for helpless patients, helping in the marriages of daughters from poor families, arranging food support for underprivileged people, distributing monthly ration and clothes to needy families, and constructing homes for helpless people.

You can also join the Samoon family and become a part of these noble initiatives by contributing towards humanitarian service.

This Diwali, Samoon Foundation celebrated with the family of Shri Laxman Singh Ji from Tyaukhar village, Rudraprayag. Shri Laxman Singh Ji has been physically disabled for many years, and his wife also has vision impairment in one eye. Unfortunately, their son was also born with a disability like his father.

Despite their challenges, the Samoon family shared the happiness of Diwali with them by providing support and celebrating the festival together.

जरूरतमंद परिवारों के साथ मनाई दिवाली की खुशियां

“इस बार गरीब परिवारों के बच्चों को नए कपड़े, मिठाइयां और पटाखे दिलाकर दिवाली मनाएं।”

समूण परिवार के सदस्य प्रत्येक त्योहार और पर्व को मानवता की सेवा के लिए समर्पित भाव से मनाने का पूरा प्रयास करते हैं।

समूण फाउंडेशन द्वारा गरीब बच्चों की पढ़ाई में सहयोग करना, जरूरतमंद बच्चों को खिलौने एवं कपड़े वितरित करना, बेसहारा मरीजों के इलाज में सहायता करना, गरीब परिवारों की बेटियों के विवाह में सहयोग करना, अभावग्रस्त परिवारों के लिए भोजन की व्यवस्था करना, जरूरतमंद परिवारों को प्रत्येक माह राशन एवं कपड़े उपलब्ध कराना तथा असहाय लोगों के लिए मकान निर्माण जैसे अनेक सेवा कार्य किए जा रहे हैं।

आप भी समूण परिवार से जुड़कर इन पुण्य कार्यों में अपना योगदान दे सकते हैं।

रुद्रप्रयाग जिले के त्यौखर गांव निवासी लक्ष्मण सिंह जी कई वर्षों से पैरों से विकलांग हैं और उनकी धर्मपत्नी जी भी एक आंख से कमजोर हैं। दुर्भाग्यवश उनका बेटा भी जन्म से ही अपने पिता की तरह विकलांग है।

ऐसे संघर्षपूर्ण जीवन जी रहे लक्ष्मण सिंह जी के परिवार के साथ समूण परिवार द्वारा इस दिवाली खुशियां साझा की गईं और उनके साथ मिलकर त्योहार मनाया गया।
